The October PPV featured three title fights. To no one’s surprise, Righetti successfully retained the title by beating Lawrence. So just how good is Lawrence? Since joining the welters she has a 5-3 record. That’s good huh. Well, since joining the welters, she has had four fights against lightweights and one against a bantam and lost all of them. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m a big fan of Amanda, but she is ruling over a shallow and weak division. Taylor Swift won her sixth title defense by beating Winstead. I’m not a big fan of Swift, but I have to give her credit. She has fought legitament opponents. Finally, Bella Thorne beat the very dangerous Kaya Scodelario to retain the bantam crown. It was her second defense.

In the welters there were only three non title bouts. Decker and Rhoda helped their causes. They should maintain their rankings. The third bout was insignificant, In the lightweights, the big winners were DiDonato and Peregrym  DiDonato’s win over Ambrosio should get her a title fight. The other strong contender for a title shot is Kendall Jenner who beat a fading Miranda Kerr. The big loser in the lightweights was Odette Yustman, whose loss to Turner will drop her out of the Tractorpull top ten. Peregrym should get a big boost with her win over Law, who is a welter. Strahovski’s win over Delevigne was a gimme. In the bantams, Lilly is going to be hard to deny a title shot. She has been denied for some time while her peers got a chance at the title. I get the feeling she is being ducked. I think Winnick with a 26-6 record should get a chance, but that is not likely now that her stablemate is the champion. It’s a case that she most probably wouldn’t win but it would be nice to see her get one. Lowndes remains in the title race with her win over Stella Hudgens, which will probably result in another bout with Vanessa Hudgens. The flyweight action was relatively light. Megan Fox should retain her position in the top ten. While Lily Collins had a title shot earlier this year her win over Merna, while expected, raised her record since that title fight to 6-1 and put her in a position for another chance.

Of the bouts on the card, 30% ended in the fifth round and 64% ended in the rounds four to six. Four fights ended before the fourth and eight after the sixth and of course 100% ended in knockouts.

Don’t sell the cougars short. As of 12: 38 CDT Sunday, Only six of the fights on the card have drawn more viewers than Theron/Cucinotta. The Theron fight has drawn more than the JMDD title fight. Three of the six fights that drew more viewers were the three title fights.
