A cougar bout was next on the fight card. A debut for one of these cougar was taking place. Jeanne Basone the former Hollywood of the original GLOW is boxing tonight against Christina Applegate.

Basone is not new to boxing as she has done boxing videos for Hit The Mat, Double Trouble and other such companies. She does talk about her underground bouts in the pre fight press. Jeanne shows some footage from these during her time with the press. She does thank a specific member of the FCBA for getting her this opportunity.

Christina is not new to the ring but returning to it after a 17 year absence. She to talks and shows footage of herself in privately held bouts around Hollywood to show her form. Applegate says that she has been watching the cougar bouts and has been asked about getting back into the ring.

The time of the fight finally came for these cougars.

Jeanne wears a gold bikini with white gloves.

Christina is in a silver two piece and black gloves.

Round 1 & 2:

The first two rounds of this bout were close rounds. Both women came out dukes up and met at center of the ring. Short punches were exchanged and a good professional bout began. Neither boxer pressed in the early going just exchange and move. Christina slipped a left uppercut to Jeanne’s face after an exchange and this moved her back. Applegate then gets into Basone’s gut and then they two exchanges punches to each other’s face. The bell ends a close round won by Christina. The second round saw Basone take the initiative and go into Applegate’s gut with some short lefts. Then she goes to uppercut at Christina’s face, soon Christina is moving back. She gets a couple uppercuts that hit her before she is able to answer back with a hard left hook that rattles Basone. The rest of the round is a close punch fest. The bell sounds and Basone has won a close round.

Round 3:

Christina and Jeanne trade uppercuts in the beginning of the round. Jeanne goes to clinch and Applegate bounces back. Then she seems to pour on punches to Basone’s body and head. Jeanne goes to punch back and does seem to answer well. Down the stretch, Christina walks Basone back behind her punches. Applegate digs into Basone’s sides before Basone hits a nice right uppercut and the bell sounds. Christina won the round widely.

Round 4:

Jeanne opens the round by digging into Applegate’s gut with some big hooks. A quick right uppercut helps push Christina back. Basone then returns to Applegate’s body with more hooks. Applegate’s gloves drop and Basone goes with back to back crosses followed with a right hook. DOWN GOES APPLEGATE! Basone walks to the nearest neutral corner as Christina is being counted over. She can’t make it past her knees and the count goes by. KO 4 – Jeanne Basone.

After:

Jeanne came out of her corner and raised her arms in victory as she posed in the ring for the cameras. Soon she was in the middle of the ring and had her right arms raised as she was declared the winner. Basone was now a winning boxer in an FCBA bout not a video bout. She celebrated in the ring while Applegate was in her corner having been helped by her corner team. She was tended to when Jeanne came over. She helped Applegate up and had the crowd cheer her opponent. Christina was taken aback and unhappy with Basone’s actions.
