BEFORE:
"So… Lagertha may be dead now, but I'm still very much alive and kicking!” Winnick begins the press conference with a smile. “Tonight is another big one for me. As you all know, my last two fights ended in disappointment, to say the least… and I'm at a risk of losing three-straight for the first time since starting in the FCBA. and I gotta say… I'm not a fan of being in this position.”

Winnick chuckles before continuing. “I've been offered plenty of names to fight, some of them less impressive than others, some of them not younger, bigger or former champions.” The blonde laughs. “But that's just not how I roll. Realistically, I only have a year or two left in me before I'll probably move to fighting at Cougar, but untill then, I want to test myself against the best the FCBA has to offer. Demi would make a scary opponent for anyone - she's in her prime at the moment and probably the strongest fighter in this division, physically. This is going to be one hell of an uphill battle, but I'm up for it and I’m here to win, as always.”

Demi Lovato giving her opponent plenty of space to say her piece, still looking hella confident from the other end of the table in her own ability to win this face-off tonight.

“Look, I’ve said before that I have tremendous respect for Kat. She doesn’t have to do this boxing thing. Not at her age. Not against the best and youngest in the division But just look at her - going ten rounds with girls like Brie Larson and Cheryl Cole is no joke. I’m taking her seriously tonight because she’s doing the same. So yes, I can’t wait to to see what she’s got for me tonight, but I doubt she can stop me. Good luck trying!”

Pretty respectful words from both ladies, and the face-off on stage is similarly conducted, with Winnick and Lovato staring each down with plenty of smiles at the podium and giving the other girl a wide berth. They even shake hands before being led away by the ring officials.

Hours later, Lovato’s music is first to hit the airwaves, the Lookout! star looking as confident as before as she strides out from behind the black curtains in a brassiere top of the same shade, and low-cut boy shorts tights. Lovato pumping her arm to the rock music as she acknowledges the crowds with a pair of red gloves raised high.

Winnick is out next and the older blonde has managed to build herself quite a fan base in her two years in the FCBA judging by the noise levels in the arena. Clad in her usual white sports bra and boxing tights with black stripes, blonde hair in a messy high ponytail. Winnick with a calm and collected wave to the fans as she comes down the ramp with the rest of her team in tow, looking focused and ready to rumble.

We’re all set in the ring for ten rounds of Bantamweight action. All eyes are on both women as they look to climb over each other on their way to the top! HERE we go!

ROUND 1:
Demi’s physical prowess and young age were determining factors in her recent fights against Kat Dennings and Priyanka Chopra , managing to put their lights out with a combination of speed and stamina. Katheryn moves cautious as a result, not afraid per se of her opponent but still moving with deliberate intent to score jabs only when she confidently can. Demi on the other hand knows where her strengths lie, comes forward like a freakin’ bulldozer looking to brawl. The younger woman is the first to throw a mixture of straight hands and hooks towards her older counterpart, but Winnick’s early evasive maneuvers allow her to evade these shots or take them full on the arms instead. This looks to be the correct strategy for the Doll moving forward, who responds in kind with long but effective jabs that land on Lovato’s chin and cheek, tagging her repeatedly throughout the opening round in a game of cat-and-mouse. End result however? Winnick takes the first round wide from her cool counter-fighting measures.

ROUND 2:
Katheryn definitely faces an uphill battle here as she tries to balance between evading Demi’s attacks and returning fire in order to maintain her lead. Demi however ain’t no dumb broad, quickly adapts to Winnick’s tactics. After another jab combo snags her lips, Demi blocks the next one incoming with ease, frustrating Katheryn’s attempts to surge ahead. In fact, a right hook slammed into the side of her head has the older woman suddenly stunned mid-round, with Demi shrugging off the Doll’s jabs and then just plowing one home point-black! UGH. Winnick rocked early, now moving back as she realises she’s facing another girl who can match her own heavy-hitting swings. She has no choice but to spend the rest of the round dancing about Lovato, fending off more quick shots as Lovato tries to pack punches into her body from afar.

ROUND 3:
Lovato invigorated, coming forth with blood on her mind. She chases Winnick down from the bell, keeps up the pressure as she pesters Winnick’s arms with jabs before trying her luck with a hook or two sent into the forearms. Katheryn getting battered about in there, pushed around like she’s a ragdoll, certainly an uncharacteristic scene as the bigger, older woman gets bullied by the smaller, more energetic one. Only in the last minute do we see a rally from Katl, who successfully swerves around one of Demi’s many hooks aimed at her head before planting a nasty one flush on her cheek in turn, drawing a loud gurgle from Demi’s lips and making her stumble to the side for a second. It’s not enough to secure a knockdown for Kat, but at least she buys herself more time to recuperate after that shellacking.

ROUND 4:
It’s anyone’s match at this point, and even Demi is looking slightly wary as she circles the older blonde rather than charge in to finish her off. Winnick’s accuracy and power put on display many times before, and the last thing Demi wants is to find herself looking up at the ceiling lights. Girls exchange jabs from afar, taking turns to score punches on the face and body. Demi definitely picking up the pace mid-round, suddenly springing forward with a flurry aimed at the Winnick’s face. But Katheryn more than ready, steps backwards to block or avoid, before planting her feet firm and BLAM - hook of her own slammed hard into Demi’s cheek! OUCH!! That one definitely registered as it catches the Lookout! star flush on the face, makes her stumble for several feet before she catches onto the top rope for support. Winnick slowly tightening the noose, crowds in and scores some more with shots straight to the face, leaving Lovato covered up and squirming, Winnick switching targets no problem to the younger girl’s body, stuffing gloves into the belly before the referee sounds the bell to end the round. A good counteroffensive effort right there as the Doll manages to turn the tide of this fight!

ROUND 5:
Tough girls turn each other’s heads - quite literally - as they meet in the center and basically start swinging away! Who knows whether this was a calculated move on their part or an unplanned error once they got within each other’s range at the same time, then having no other choice but to get down and dirty! Lovato scores first with a hard swipe across Winnick’s face, then another low swing that thumps! hard into the blonde’s midsection. Winnick groaning, but immediately counters with her own leather fist flying across Lovato’s chest, stunning the actress, before a stiff right hand connects with the chin, which snaps backwards in pain! Girls circle away at the last minute to resume their long-distance jabbing, and this round is looking more and more like a draw as neither woman wants to take another risk to go all-in.

ROUND 6:
This is turning into a grueling contest of wills as both women take whatever shots they can to whittle the other's resolve away. Demi having some early success with some mad dashes forward, plowing cross-hands into the middle of Winnick's arms and then batting hooks on that guard as she tries to overpower the Doll. Winnick however just refusing to go down despite all that ammunition thrown her way, gets thrown into the ropes multiple times but simply rebounds outta the way of the charging bull, occasionally shoving an errant fist into Demi's lips when she's the least alert. Lovato doesn't realise she's losing the exchange until the third minute when another two straight hands are stuffed into her nostrils, drawing a sharp gasp from her lips as she goes flailing backwards on unsteady feet. But Katheryn too spent to give chase either, and the two women circle for the rest of the round, content with catching their breaths.

ROUND 7:
It’s starting to dawn on Lovato that Winnick ain’t your typical opponent - we’re entering the final quarter of this fight and the older lady is still moving like she’s 10 years younger. Another case in point: Lovato is forced back on the defensive when an early assault is repelled by the Doll, who blocked her rapid jab combo to the arms before bashing a series of her own hands right into the middle of Demi’s guard, before another sly hook was slipped in at the last minute to rattle the Lookout star badly. Bad bad news for Lovato as she eats the abuse, goes stumbling back, her face ridden with panic. Winnick expertly drives her advantage forward, wading into her opponent with a flurry of punches, and IT’S ALL KATHERYN - blonde girl just PILING ON the abuse as she lays into Demi’s arms and body hup hup hup - THUMP! to the midsection as Winnick’s turn to bully, not giving Lovato ANY chance to break free or breathe! Demi folded over in tatters, her resolve slipping away as she’s driven back into the ropes with NOWHERE left to go, until Winnick BASHES her again on the chin and the big girl CRUMPLES!!

KNOCKDOWN for Kat Winnick as she stands tall over her fallen adversary, her own fatigue finally catching up as she’s pants, hanging on to the top rope in order to steady her own two legs. But Demi Lovato ain’t faring any better, rolling over onto her back at the blonde’s feet, eyes squeezed shut from that wild ringing in her ears! She can barely hear the referee counting her out steadily from above, not until the fateful sounds of the official bell adds to her misery! That’s it! Demi is STILL on her back and the referee is waving his hands! It’s all over!!

Official Decision: Katheryn Winnick defeats Demi Lovato via KO7!

AFTER:
Immense relief flooding Winnick’s face immediately, one for defeating this very tough opponent, but two for breaking her short losing streak and getting back on top. The losses at the tail end of 2019 finally stop here with Lovato! The 42 year old Doll breaks into a wide smile, raises both tired arms up hight as she faces the crowd, allowing herself a mini parade around the ring whilst blowing kisses to her many fans who came to support her here tonight – and she definitely made sure they got their money’s worth!

Demi counting her chickens as she’s slowly brought around by her corner, now sitting up with her back to the turnbuckle, looking utterly despondent on her wooden stool. She freezes for a second at the sight of Winnick waltzing over to her, but this is Katheryn Winnick we’re talking about, and not one of her wilder and more feral teammates.

Katheryn shares some words of encouragement with her younger counterpart, telling her it was a close call and doing her best to cheer the brunette up. Demi seen nodding gratefully as Kat congratulates her on a spectacular performance tonight.

Indeed, we’d agree with that assessment, as both ladies have put on one helluva show in their mutual quest to raise themselves further up the Bantamweight ladder. Later on, Kat pauses by ringside as she responds to some of the reporters’ questions. “I consider this one of my biggest wins to date…certainly. Demi is a freaking beast guys! She’s a former champion and I’m sure she has a few more championships in the future. This woman can take down Welters! I’m just happy I could bounce back against someone as good as her. I’ve got Minka next…I'm gonna need some rest..." She says, still breathing heavily. "but then It’s time for some payback!” Winnick smirks. “See you guys next month!”
