Georgia Salpa vs Alicia Medina
(Lookout! Atlantic Boxing vs BBU Independent)
(7-7, 7 KO vs 0-1)
Results: BBU; Story: Vassago

BEFORE: Georgia Salpa has all the tools to become a serious player in the lightweight division but for some reason she still lacks that signature result that would elevate her into elite contention. She missed on a golden opportunity when she was defeated by Keeley Hazell in the JMDD Title Tournament first round but she's found winning ways since then when she stopped Natalie Gumede back in March. This is still the same girl who conquered the highly-touted Jennifer Hawkins but several years have passed since that fight and Denise van Outen feels like the Greek-Irish has to work her way back from the scratch.

Meanwhile Alicia Medina remains a great unknown to the boxing community and a potential banana skin on Salpa's path to the elite. She took Rachael Finch through quite a feisty combat on the Sirens Maelstrom card last summer but Denise van Outen thinks she looks a little soft in the flesh to be considered a serious threat especially when matched against one of Lookout! Atlantic-backed opponents. The odds are stacked against the Spanish model but one should never underestimate any of these Latin babes who can flip a naughty switch in the ring at any given moment!

Georgia Salpa wears a white bikini set with light blue trim and light blue gloves. Long raven-black hair tied in a sleek ponytail. Alicia Medina wears a yellow bikini set and black gloves. Long brown hair tied in a high ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.

Round 1:
Georgia comes out flying and digs her mitts straight into the fellow brunette's face before Alicia can secure a proper guard. The high-tempo opening catches the Spanish girl by surprise and she tries to step back into mid-distance but Georgia's aerial attack is too accurate and allows the Irish model to pound her into the ropes where she remains glued to the punishment plan upstairs. Ugh! Alicia's guard can't contain the assault and leaves her aching in pain before the older woman whacks her across the tummy to bend her into more spasms. It's a furious start from Salpa here in the opener and she keeps her foe trapped behind a desperate earmuff for remainder of the round.

Round 2:
Georgia seeks more success and keeps swinging over the top but loses her precision down the stretch as Alicia finds some footwork rhythm to escape the heat. She spends majority of the round backpedalling away from the Irish model's punches but does more than enough to avoid structural damage and leaves Salpa frustrated over her futile pursuit thereafter. The older girl shouts back at the Spaniard to show some courage but Medina refuses to fall for the tease and keeps Georgia at bay while licking her with single punches. That probably won't win her much on the scorecards but at least she could find her groove amid this Irish charge.

Round 3:
Alicia gets more aggressive now and dukes it out with the fellow brunette in mid-distance where she can land her punches more effectively than before. However Georgia tackles her to the cleavage and eventually outworks her through sheer intensity of the attack. Alicia drops back to her heels and misses a swing over the top while Salpa turns from the hip and NAILS her with a vicious cross on the nose that sinks the Spanish model on jelly knees. Georgia quickly fires an uppercut on the exposed jaw and then whacks the fish-tailing rival on the nose... AND MEDINA GOES DOWN!!! That was ultra-accurate from the Lookout Atlantic brunette who yells out in delight while Alicia takes her time before getting up at seven. She remains subdued afterwards and gets pounded back to the ropes where Salpa ignores the high guard and ravages the exposed midsection until the bell halts her charge.

Round 4:
Alicia remains half-hearted in her response and just can't avoid the Irish blitz anymore. Georgia has a field day splitting her mitts during the opening minute tangle and thwarts the tourist's footwork to leave her sagging on her heels once the punishment becomes too severe to handle. Medina stops Salpa's punches with her face and gets pummelled back to the ropes where she sinks into more spasms and basically checks out of the fight come half-way mark of the round. Salpa still lifts her chin with a nasty uppercut double and that whips the hapless model against the ropes with eyes closed. THE REF HAS SEEN ENOUGH OF THIS and jumps into to halt the beating as Alicia looked all out of sorts ever since that knockdown. The stoppage might have been premature but Medina just shakes her head and claims she's not feeling too well right now. TKO4 Georgia Salpa!!!

AFTER: Something looked wrong with Alicia here from the start and she claims food poisoning spoiled her last few days and left her physically drained when it mattered the most. But she still refused to drop out of the BBU PPV because opportunities come at a premium for majority of free agents around the league. However Georgia Salpa doesn't buy into this excuse and claims Alicia "can't handle getting beat like a proper competitor. Being a free agent is a miserable experience but thankfully I don't have to worry about such issues!" (laughs).

Denise van Outen notices that the Greek-Irish model suddenly thrives on some new-found confidence but let's don't mention the Keeley Hazell debacle while she's in the same room. Love her attitude or not, Salpa remains a fascinating prospect among the lightweight peers even though stablemate Helena Mattsson is linked to a high-profile return next month as well. That could well shake-up the Lookout! Atlantic pecking order in it's own right!

Final result: Georgia Salpa def. Alicia Medina TKO4
