Elisabetta Gregoraci vs Indira Weis
(BBU Independent vs Black Eagle Boxing)
(6-0, 6 KO vs 4-1, 4 KO)
Results: BBU; Story: Vassago

BEFORE: This fight was all set to select the official challenger to Alessandra Ambrosio's BBU lightweight title until Indira Weis' short-cut attempt against Malika Menard went awry and resulted in a painful KO4 loss back in February. Black Eagles coach Gina Wild admits that the Menard bout was set up to jump the queue on Gregoraci but now the singer is still forced to fight the Italian model even though spoiling Gregoraci's title ambitons is the only profit available for the German entourage.

Meanwhile Elisabetta knocked out a dangerous Australian talent Jodi Gordon last month and her coach Martina Colombari expects champion Ambrosio to take notice of these performances sooner rather than later. The fact Gregoraci isn't exactly a 20-year old whirlwind prospect actually helps her cause and Denise van Outen admits she's very impressed by the brunette's raw power that allowed her to take BBU by storm since making her debut over two years ago.

Elisabetta Gregoraci wears a turquoise bikini set and yellow gloves. Long black hair tied in a sleek ponytail. Indira Weis wears a red bikini top, black hotpants and red gloves. Medium lenght dark brown hair straight. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.

Round 1:
Elisabetta owns supreme reach against one of the smallest lightweights around but Indira's aggression helps her to tackle the model's body and channel some early wrath in this much-anticipated contest. The lack of elite mobility has stalled Gregoraci's efforts against Jodi Gordon and she struggles to embrace the close range pounding that Indira delivers in up-tempo fashin during the opening minute. The Italian gets stuck on her heels and even though she lands a couple of crisp punches on the singer's cheeks, she fails to shake her off and disappears behind a rare earmuff as Indira moves upstairs and begins to split the guard a little too often for comfort. Coach Wild is visibly satisfied in the Black Eagles corner as Weis rallies to trap the taller brunette against the ropes where she switches back to clean out the toned abs and leave Gregoraci scowling in discomfort at the bell.

Round 2:
Indira's speed allows her to close right in on the statesque model and when Elisabetta misses with her power hooks, the response pierces her midsection again and sends her backing into the ropes in a hurry. Some single punches crash into Indira's face but the German remains glued on target and pounds the model's ribcage to shut her down on the ropes where only a clinch earns the embattled Italian a brief respite. Indira launches immediate jabbing flurry after the command and outworks the subdued model again; she whacks her across the nose with a quick switch upstairs before dropping to punish the midriff again. The Eagles' plan seems to be working perfectly fine here and Elisabetta's single striking response fails to throw Weis off her course. A belting hook on the liver area bends Elisabetta against the turnbuckle at the bell and coach Colombari is ready to explode in the Azzuri corner right now.

Round 3:
It's debatable how long can Weis keep this tempo going but Gregoraci stuns her with a wild cross early in the third to finally cash in with a quick series upstairs that forced the singer on the back foot. And Indira can do little about getting outworked in mid-distance when the model's punches begin to stack up against her face. Ugh! The singer thinks better off it and manages to dominate the footwork battle in the second minute but she still gets caught with a couple of feisty shots as Gregoraci doesn't give up on the chase whatsoever. Indira's dancing efforts allow her to escape the full Italian heat until the final seconds when she misjudges the approach and instead of rocking the model with another body shot, she eats a crunching left/right combo on the temples that wobbles her onto the ropes. Elisabetta is ready to pounce but the clock expires just as she's ready to deliver the follow up and the ref charges in to stop her at the last moment.

Round 4:
Indira seeks another close range tussle but Denise van Outen thinks she's be best advised to take her time now in order to annoy the leggy Italian a little more. Ugh! Too late now as the singer eats a brutal left/right combo straight off the bell and wobbles onto her heels while Gregoraci hauls in more heavy juice up the middle. She splits the German's guard wholesale and literally pounds her butt-in-ropes whereas Weis picks up a lip damage in the proccess. Cue in more Italian wrath as Elisabetta gets vocal in her jabbing pursuit and wraps the smaller brunette into a proper pounding that opens the floodgates and makes both coaches scream out in excitement. But Indira can't stay away from the striking range and wilts under the barrage to the point her nostrils give way to a bloody leak come the half-way mark of the round before a belting left hook catches her on the solar plexus AND SENDS TUMBLING DOWN AT THE MODEL'S FEET!!! Whoa! Indira just couldn't take it anymore and collapsed into a heap on the spot. Elisabetta punches the air in delight but she needs to wait a little longer before claiming outright success as the bruised German gets up at eight and enjoys more respite when her cutman wipes the blood off her damaged nose. It's checkdown mode for Weis now as she dances her way into total defense and escapes the aerial assault that Gregoraci throws at her; Denise van Outen thinks one proper combo could do it now alas the bell halts the Italian prowl for the time being.

Round 5:
Gregoraci resumes the stalking drive and Indira can't stay clear of her path for much longer especially that she trips over her own feet at one point and allows the model to cash in with more head hunting menace. The German response is weak and only grazes the flesh while all these punches upstairs leave more bruises on Indira's face and leave her hugging the ropes when her batteries finally run out. She simply can't stop Elisabetta from shattering her guard anymore and there's more blood coming from the damaged nose now as Indira enters the punchbag mode and gets battered into stupor on the ropes. Gregoraci shows her no mercy here whatsoever and punches her out of the orbit before Gina Wild can even think of throwing in the towel. One last hook nails the half-conscious on the right temples AND SENDS HER FACE-DOWN ON THE CANVAS!!! That's a lights out finish from the athletic model and the ref doesn't even bother with the count! KO5 Elisabetta Gregoraci!!!

AFTER: There's nothing standing in Elisabetta's way now to make an official run at the BBU Lightweight title according to Denise van Outen and the Italian entourage enjoys a well-deserved standing ovation from the Cardiff Arena crowd. Coach Martina Colombari calls out Alessandra Ambrosio in the middle of her celebrations and Elisabetta nods back in approval pointing her gloves straight at the camera. You can easily predict whom she wants next even without the subtitles!

Meanwhile Black Eagles coach Gina Wild is forced to use her towel and a huge icepack to revive the fallen compatriot as Indira is lifted from the canvas still unaware of her whereabouts. This was a bad knockout indeed which only confirmed Gregoraci's undisputed punching power and for all of Indira's skills, she simply wasn't quick enough to avoid the Italian rush on the long run. Denise van Outen reckons the Cologne-based stable should shift their lightweight title ambitions to Ann-Kathrin Brommel going forward even though Weis remains a valuable test option for all future elite prospects around the league.

Final result: Elisabetta Gregoraci def. Indira Weis KO5.
