Vanessa White vs Cher Lloyd
(Double A Boxing vs BBU Independent)
(5-8, 5 KO vs 5-2, 5 KO)
Results: BBU; Story: Vassago

BEFORE: Vanessa White has never inspired elite praise around BBU however she defied several odds by beating Hannah Spearritt on the BBC Sport Relief charity event few weeks ago and now joins The Saturdays' bandmate Mollie King on tonight's PPV hoping to revive her otherwise mediocre career. On the other hand we have Cher Lloyd who made a lot of buzz back in 2016 until back-to-back losses to Diana Korkunova and Frankie Bridge removed her from divisional championship picture. And that stunning upset at the hands of another The Saturdays member Bridge has triggered tonight's match-up as White brags about being the superior fighter to Frankie and that's something Cher doesn't take seriously at all. She wants revenge and BBU TV's Denise van Outen seems to agree with the betting odds that give Gypsy stunner a slight advantage.

Vanessa White wears a golden bikini top, black hotpants and white gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a sleek ponytail. Cher Lloyd wears a red bikini set and black gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a high ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.

Round 1:
Cher blasts out of the gate and tries to catch the fellow brunette with an early barrage but Vanessa steps up in close range and digs her mitts into the fellow singer's midsection leading into a lenghty flyweight bash that quickly raises the response from the Cardiff audience. Both girls trade vicious punches without much concern for potential wounds however Cher outworks her opponent and slams a left/right cross on her nose to wobble Vanessa back to the ropes. She tracks her down and stuns with another wild haymaker on the lips which traps White in the corner and allows the Gypsy babe to haul in more crisp punches up the middle. Vanessa sinks on soft knees at the bell and stares at the other girl in visible disgust as her offensive plan has indeed backfired here for the time being.

Round 2:
Another aggressive jump from Vanessa leaves Denise van Outen surprised but Cher was ready for it and the Cardiff audience gets treated with another high-octane bash that staggers the older brunette on her heels when the Gypsy girl drills through her high guard and connets with the jaw. Ugh! Vanessa finally thinks better off it and yields real estate while Lloyd hassles her around the ring during the second minute. White retains her agility and escapes a proper leather assault but struggles to mount a counter-punching comeback and gets picked off with single blows down the stretch. She just can't shake Lloyd off here but the Gypsy brunette seems annoyed over something at the ball and argues her case with the referee. What is that all about? You simply can't force anyone to abandon the defensive tactics when the punches stack up like they did on White's face here in the second.

Round 3:
Cher Lloyd takes another page from the Cheryl Cole school of boxing and splits the older brunette's guard in the early going however even a yelping Vanessa manages to land a promising double and suddenly both girls engage in a gruesome battle where anything is possible. Perhaps Cher gets a little carried away here but she bounces off the high guard too often to reel her rival onto the ropes again and eats a nasty cross hooking combo on the lips instead that launches a comeback from The Saturdays' singer. Vanessa gets vocal as she steers her shots straight on the money and Lloyd's glued to the spot thereafter with White matching her intensity and wobbling backwards during the final stretch. Ugh! Both hellcats bump into each other at the bell and it looks like Vanessa is right back into the thick of things despite sporting more bruises on her pretty face than the Gypsy stunner.

Round 4:
Cher eyes another quick pounce but gets clobbered with a vicious overhand seconds into the fourth and suddenly fish-tails to her heels with the older brunette rocking her with another hook on the right temple. A stead jabbing rush follow and Vanessa screams out in delight when Lloyd gets swamped by the assault and wobbles back to the ropes. However it's the cruel blow on the boobs that makes the older singer wince and she then gets blasted with a left hook on the nose that whips her against the ropes. Another low strike catches her on the tummy and Cher stumbles to the side when she soaks up a belting hook on the liver THAT FOLDS HER DOWN ON HER KNEES!!! Now, that's a wicked punch from White who leaps in the air while the Gypsy stunner tries to regain her breath. She gets back onto her feet at seven but remains affected by the experience and can't do anything about Vanessa blasting through her high guard to rattle her even further. Ugh! Lloyd slides against the ropes and eats punches like skittles with the older singer raining punches like a woman possessed and only the bell halts this epic charge leaving Cher in all kinds of bother!

Round 5:
Vanessa launches another vicious assault straight through the high guard and Cher simply can't recover in time; she gets glued to the canvas and yelps with every punch finding the target. Ugh! This is getting really ugly here and White just screams out when she wraps the hapless prey into her groove. Lloyd's gloves finally crumble by her waist and she gets destroyed out of her senses with the older brunette ready to rearrange her face within seconds... The ref notices the danger AND JUMPS IN TO PREVENT FURTHER DAMAGE!!! Poor Cher crumbles to her knees and can barely hold back the tears but it's an epic TKO5 Vanessa White!!!

AFTER: This is a genuine upset here but that Sport Relief opportunity seems to have done wonders for Vanessa's confidence. Why didn't she think of a similar route to enhance her stock before? Denise van Outen believes Mollie King had little to do with this inspired performance but there are some serious questions that need to be asked regarding Cher's elite status next. Losing to both Frankie Bridge and Vanessa White looks very lousy on anyone's resume and apparently the Gypsy stunner needs to go back to the drawing board to regain her winning mojo before she's written off by the pundits and fans alike.

Final result: Vanessa White def. Cher Lloyd TKO5.
