BEFORE: Although Elodie Frege enjoys most of the boxing action overseas, she always cherishes a proper BBU challenge especially when it comes from an elite contender like Vera Brezhneva. Add the iconic Wembley Stadium as your hosting venue and Frege is all ready to go and remind everyone that her otherwise dismal FCBA record doesn't even tell a half of the real story!

The redhead singer couldn't remove Lea Seydoux from the BBU lineal throne last summer but settled for a French national title when she smoked Clara Morgane on the follow up in November. However Brezhneva enters tonight's contest fresh from beating not only Morgane but also former two-time champion Una Healy and that result alone makes her a slight betting favorite especially when you consider Frege's rough patch over in America.

The Wembley audience support remains divided between the two singers but maybe the Eastern European camp is a little louder according to BBU TV's Denise van Outen. There's no love lost in the ring as we don't touch gloves here and go straight down to business instead!

Round 1:
Vera usually likes to hit her stride early but Elodie's rich FCBA experience apparently makes her think better off it so the French girl scores several easy punches during the opening minute. It's almost like Vera wants to test the strenght of the redhead's punches with her face and only recovers from this early stall when Frege whacks her across the boobs and wobbles on the heels in the process. Blonde girl responds from behind the guard and clips Elodie's chin a couple of times however a steady French assault has found it's groove by this stage and the former champion keeps working upstairs from point-blank range and forces Brezhneva into a hectic retreat come the final stretch. Vera has allowed the redhead to run the action from the front and that's not what Denise van Outen expected.

Round 2:
Vera drops the defensive approach after barely scoring a clean punch in the opener and drags Frege into a lenghty slugging dispute in the center of the ring. Elodie's happy to impose her presence too but then eats a vicious hook on the right brow ridge and wobbles onto her heels which allows the Ukrainian to follow up with a quick pounce. Ugh! Elodie's mitts are slow to react so she eats more facial juice and drops back towards the ropes where she just can't shake the blonde off and gets trapped in the corner come the two minute mark. Brezhneva thrives in this slugfest and barks in her efforts as she targets the fellow singer's head and inflicts a visible swelling on the right brow ridge with Frege living through one of her resident FCBA nightmare here at Wembley!

Round 3:
More blonde pressure leaves Frege nursing additional swelling; Vera is brutally effective in close range and Denise van Outen praises her gung-ho efforts that seem to expose the redhead's woeful guard. It's not FCBA but Brezhneva cashes in where Clara Morgane struggled so much before. The all-in blast keeps Elodie under wraps and she quickly tries to find some space in mid-distance alas the blonde just keeps stalking her like a true predator. No love here for Frege who gets beaten for a quick overhand and tails off on the ropes where Vera finds more success and rattles through the suspiciously shaky guard. Ugh! Elodie swings one on the money but lacks pure numbers and they build 'em tough back in the East as Brezhneva laughs off that last punch that smacked her on the nose indeed.

Round 4:
Latin Union coach Ariane Brodier fails to change Elodie's mindset but the French team profits from a careless approach from the Ukrainian foe and the former champion scores a much-needed breakthrough when she splits the blonde's mitts and whacks her on the lips with a proper hooking drive. Both women settle down into a close range tangle and Frege channels that superior experience to blast the fellow singer on the ribcage where she turns her attention going forward. Meanwhile Vera gets stuck in neutral and misses her intended response over the top; she soaks up a classic liver punch that must have skimmed off the mark after all however Elodie outmuscles her following accidental clash of heads and spikes back to the ropes with a vicious hook on the jaw. Brezhneva decides to avoid a late rally and stays out of the redhead's range thereafter which leaves coach Brodier very satisfied indeed come the bell.

Round 5:
That French joy seemed a little premature as Elodie fails to build on her momentum and gets whacked over the top in another feisty tangle that allows the Ukrainian to assume control. Vera gets vocal again as she works around the swollen brow ridge and Frege is clearly affected by the precision of these attacks, She refuses to back off until a cross hook scythes her on the lips before Vera doubles up and whacks her on the temple from the other side... uh-oh... Elodie yelps her loudest of the night yet and fails to lock a clinch while the blonde DRILLS her chin with a classic piledriver that sends the French stunner spinning onto the ropes... Oh boy, here come the Cossacks... Vera PLOUGHS through the wilting high guard and wraps Elodie into a leather frenzy that leaves the redhead HURT... Frege stops everything with her face now as she struggles to regain her stance and gets plastered against the cornerpost with Brezhneva being DENIED of a juicy KO by the merciless clock. Ref has to drag the blonde off her prey and Elodie looks shaken and very much stirred here as she sports a massive swelling around the right eye. Ariane Brodier has to shout at her to catch her attention and things suddenly look very bleak for the French entourage.

Round 6:
Elodie simply can't recover from that horrible previous round and Vera blasts through her high guard like it's a glorified sparring session... Redhead sinks into spasms within the opening twenty seconds and gets swamped by the barrage so quickly Denise van Outen believes quitting on the stool would have been a sensible idea. The Latin Union pride prevents coach Brodier from throwing in the towel and there's no sympathy from the ref either so Vera takes care of business herself as she LIFTS the cumbersome opponent off her feet with a brutal hook that DROPS FREGE HALF-DEAD moments later. Ugh! That's gonna hurt you in the morning!!! KO6 Vera Brezhneva!!!

AFTER: That's a new signature victory for the Ukrainian singer who MUST be considered a top choice for the divisional straps later this summer. Even Denise van Outen can't figure out what's Helen Flanagan doing these days but Vera has just moved herself into pole position among the crowded bantamweight hopefuls. It's not only tonight's Wembley showpiece opportunity but also the manner in which she simply SMOKED a FCBA veteran into a complete heap. Dorota Rabczewska ain't gonna like it but WHO CARES??? Vera is the new Baltic Queen and if only she didn't have that Russian passport, she'd be a real BBU star by now.

Vera refuses to talk to the media so the attention switches back to the fallen redhead and it's a bad one. Elodie escapes broken bones but needs to be revived for several minutes and also skips the interview opportunity with her BBU status suffering a really wicked blow tonight.
