Missy Peregrym versus Amber Heard
(Words & Results: Lookout!)
BEFORE: A rematch of a fight that occurred in the latter half of 2019, with similar stakes as Heard still eager to break through with a big win to prove she belongs and Missy still eager to demonstrate she has what it takes to stay on top in the lightweight division.
“Losing to Taylor was hard…” Missy declares, “I really hope Yvonne can beat her here tonight, because I can’t stand her being on top. I used to own the bantamweight division and then did the same here at light, but a lot of these new girls just need you to beat the respect into them over and over. Amber here, for example, isn’t new but still seems to think she’s better than me sometimes. I’m happy to remind her.”
“I don’t think I’m better…” Amber says with a smile, “But I know I can be. I’ve not lived up to my potential in this league and it’s time to start. I want people to acknowledge my power and when I’ve pounded out Missy, who is going to deny it? She was on top of the division before, but those days are over. Taylor has shown it’s a blonde’s world now…” as BLONDE MAGAZINE has their next headline all set now…
Amber wearing a white bikini top, with matching bottoms and gloves - hair in a fighting ponytail; Missy wearing a baby blue bikini top, with matching bottoms and gloves - hair in a battle bun. The two of them stare each other down until the bell rings and the battle begins...
R1: Amber takes over midway through with clean hooks, getting her shoulder into the blows, and has Peregrym stunned. Missy takes a knee with forlorn expression, and she’s already rocked, Rachel puts a workmanlike beating on the blonde the rest of the way, putting combinations together into Missy’s body and breasts as her foe seems surprised.
R2: Missy shakes off the torpor, pumps the jab, pivots around her hook and looks like her old self. Amber slowing some competent footwork, has her moments as she steps over and turns her body into swatting lefts and rights, but Peregrym takes the round.
R3: Missy outboxing Amber but in the final minute, power punching from the little blonde seems to freeze Peregrym again, Missy with her hands loose at her stomach, takes hooks and falters to the ropes with that dazed expression, and Amber heaps it on turning into the hook to leave Missy wobbly butt at the bell and steal the Peregrym round.
R4: Amber out fast, dark eyes glistening as she drives out that left hook under Missy’s chin and watches the magic happen, Peregrym simply getting tagged, fades to the ropes and gives up left hooks to her tummy, pushing and giving Amber a shoulder, but doing very little punching as Heard rolls up another big round.
R5: Missy once again resumes her old form, punishing Amber’s eyes with jabs, turning the blonde mid ring, and stepping left to score with hooks on the ear, chopping right hands on the face. Heard seems outclassed for the first time in the fight as she begins to miss, falling a step behind Peregrym.
R6: Missy pumps up the volume, standing in with Amber and putting combinations together to the body that have Heard wincing, backing up, Peregrym working in close, turns her shoulder into clipping left uppercuts on the chin, hopping forward with the slapping right hand to the face to keep Amber on her heels, Heard pushing her punches now, confidence visibly abandoning her.
R7: Missy jumping in with sudden lead rights has Heard covering her face, and Peregrym steps to the left, gouging at nubile rivals’ ribs with left hooks, Heard groans, collapsing to her haunches and clutches herself in pain as Peregrym steps back. Amber up at 10, but ref waves it off as Missy records the win via KO7!
AFTER: Missy comes over to give Amber a hug, whispering something into her ear as the two talk briefly before separating. The two of them heading their separate ways, both literally and figuratively, as Missy addresses the press: “ What did we talk about? Amber is having a rough time, both in the ring and professionally, but I wanted her to know that I support her and she is welcome to an invite to our gym at any time. It’s not personal - it’s all professional - but I’m going to try to keep winning around here and this train is not stopping for anybody.” as she pumps a double bicep flex, beaming as she shows she still has it as she gets her year off to a great start. Sadly, at the expense of Amber tonight, but it’s a tough business in the FCBA and somebody has to win. Tonight, it’s Missy P! |
