Elizabeth Henstridge versus Victoria Justice

(Written by Girls Friday/Results by Lookout!)

(Girls Friday vs Kear's Kat's)

Intro:
Two fighters wanting to put a terrible year behind them this year, Elizabeth Henstridge and Victoria Justice battle it out tonight, hoping a win gets them towards a brighter future.

Elizabeth is 32 years old; she stands 5'4, holding a record of 25 wins, all coming by way of knockout, with 16 defeats.

Victoria is 27 years old; she stands 5'5, holding a record of 23 wins, all coming by way of knockout, with 23 defeats.

Last year both women finished up their FCBA records for the year with only three wins in ten attempts, Victoria though has some momentum after signing back with her original stable Kear's Kat's back in America.

The big question is about how fit Victoria is going into this fight, she fought Becky G only a few weeks ago in a bare knuckle fight, one she won but did pick up some bruising around her beautiful face.

Victoria talks to Lucy Liu as she gets interviewed in her locker room, her hands being wrapped by her coach Gail Kim, with Victoria assuring Lucy "I am fully fit for this fight, as you see my face is back to it's stunning self"

After she laughs, Victoria tells Lucy "I am so happy to be back at Kear's, me and Gail have a great dynamic and as I showed against Becky, I can tough it out in the tough fights, something Elizabeth can't say"

Gail says "Lucy you don't need Vicky to tell you what a bottler Henstridge is, anytime you pressure her she collapses, Victoria is the worst kind of fighter for her, I think her management need to look themselves in the mirror for throwing her our way" making Victoria smile proudly.

Lucy then heads into the Girls Friday locker room, while the other fighters are talking to their trainers, Elizabeth jogs over with a smile on her face, cuddling Lucy as they share peasantries.

Ming-Na Wen comes over to stand next to her fighter, Lucy and Ming stare daggers at each other, Elizabeth looking on a little uncomfortable being between the two rivals.

After coughing to break the tension, Elizabeth then answers Lucy's question how she is feeling with "Victoria is going to be tough to beat, I was honestly scared watching her and Becky bare knuckle boxing, she has my respect for taking those hits"

She continues "I have Ming-Na now behind me, she taught me before I got into my first fight, to be working with her again is awesome, if anyone can turn my fortunes around it is her" Ming-Na proudly grins at Lucy as if to say "hear that" Lucy scowling at her again.

Lucy thanks Elizabeth for her time before wishing her luck, Elizabeth nods at Lucy before she is pulled away to go back to preparing for the fight.

Fighting time, Elizabeth steps out the curtain first with Ming-Na and Eva Carneiro beside her, she is beaming as she heads down the aisle, fist bumping some in the front row.

The Brit is wearing a grey sports bra, matching trunks with a Union Jack pattern coloured "Henstridge" written across the waistband, grey shoes and gloves, her hair tied back into a ponytail.

Climbing into the ring, Elizabeth bows to each side of the ring before heading to her corner, where she is drilled by her coach as she warms up with punching drills.

Now out comes Victoria with Gail behind her, she is heading down to the ring looking full of confidence, waving for the crowd to stand as they cheer for her.

The American is wearing a red sports bra with gold trim, matching trunks with "Justice" in gold letters on the waistband, red gloves and shoes, her hair is tied back into a braid.

Stepping through the ropes with a cocky grin, she poses in her corner with her arms flexed, then goes through her own warm up routine.

The referee brings the fighters to the center of the ring, they look business like as they stare hard into the others eyes, neither looking worried by what is in front of them.

Bumping gloves at the behest of the referee, they turn on their heels back to their corners, once there the bell rings to start 10 rounds of flyweight action.

Round 1:
Both fighters start off trading jabs to test out the others defences, Victoria is looking the quicker fighter, darting inside to land a jab/right cross to the face of Elizabeth, moving back to the outside before she gets hit with a right.

The faster start is coming from Justice, she is getting clipped with punches to her cheeks, she is landing more punches though as she is moving in closer to land two or three punches, moving back to the outside each time.

A double jab smacks Henstridge between her gloves to her nose, making her cover up more tightly, allowing Victoria even more freedom to work away.

As they enter the final minute, Elizabeth times Victoria coming at her with a left cross/straight combo to push back the American.

She follows up with a straight to the face, two hooks to the body as she gets more aggressive, both women letting their hands go more in closer as they plant their feet.

At the bell they turn on their heels, Victoria raising her right fist in the air as she jogs back to her corner, Gail smiling as she thinks this is going to be easy for Justice.

Round 2:
Coming out their corners with smiles on their faces, Victoria again starts off quickly, drilling in crisp jabs to the cheeks and abs of her opponent, keeping on the move side to side.

But she is getting hit more often coming in to land her combos, taking cross punches to her stunning face, making Victoria think more about darting inside to work.

Elizabeth feints with her jab before landing a right to the abs of Victoria, an overhand left then lands to the cheek of the Latina fighter, turning her head as Elizabeth starts to back up Justice.

Ducking a left cross as her back gets near the ropes, Victoria slips back into space, landing a jab/straight combo into the face of Elizabeth when the Brit tries to be aggressive.

The final thirty seconds of the round sees the fighters again open up, slamming punches into cheeks as the crowd is loving the action in front of them.

At the bell Victoria again raises her right fist in the air, though even Gail is seeing that Elizabeth is warming up to the task in front of her, warning Victoria to be careful.

Across the ring Ming-Na is whispering something into Elizabeth's ear, Eva washes her down as Elizabeth nods to whatever she is being told, getting up looking focused as she bashes her gloves together.

Round 3:
Coming out their corners locked in a jabbing duel to start, Victoria understandably is sticking to what has given her success so far, darting inside to land two cross punches before moving back to range to jab.

When Victoria comes in this time though, Elizabeth counters her with an overhand right after dipping under a left cross, a left cross from Liz smacking Vicky across her cheek.

Using a more counter punching style now, Elizabeth is starting to come back at Victoria, who doesn't look as sure what to do now, thinking more each time she tries to come inside.

Victoria does land a nice jab/right cross to turn the head of Henstridge, knocking back the older fighter towards a counter, getting pulled into a clinch to give her something to grin about.

After they are pulled apart, Victoria becomes over eager to strike, missing a left hook and gets countered with an overhand right to her jaw, an uppercut knocks her head back with sweat flying into the air.

The bell rings to end the round with Elizabeth not celebrating much, Ming-Na gives her a nod to tell her that's better, they both know though this is just one step back in the right direction.

Round 4:
Not looking as keen to charge in, Victoria is trying to find openings as things take on a cagey look like the first thirty seconds of the first round.

This pace is suiting Henstridge, she is moving her head more and feinting, trying to bait Victoria it seems into falling into a trap, both feeling the other out.

Deciding to screw it after the first minute, Victoria drills in a straight but misses the left hook that follows, Elizabeth leaning out the way before landing a right hook to the ear of Justice.

They trade in close, heads nearly bumping as they work the others body, Elizabeth is almost looking to be writing the script when she bumps back her opponent with a left forearm, using an overhand right to the jaw of Victoria.

In the final minute a frustrated Victoria misses with a wild right, getting caught on the chin with an uppercut again that wobbles her, Elizabeth bashing back Justice to a corner to the delight of her corner.

Victoria needing to clinch up, the referee breaking them up with the bell ringing straight after, Gail shaking her head as she doesn't look too impressed by the last two rounds, telling her fighter to think harder what she is doing.

Round 5:
Looking to be growing in confidence over Justice, Henstridge is dodging before drilling punches into the body of the American, a right to the abs followed by the overhand left to the jaw.

Victoria looks to be getting worried, she isn't throwing as much as she did before, allowing Elizabeth to pick her punches better, landing cleanly to the cheeks of Justice.

Swinging a left hook that finds air, an uppercut knocks sweat off Victoria's head, A LEFT HOOK WOBBLES JUSTICE AS SHE HEADS INTO THE ROPES, THREE PUNCHES SMACK ACROSS HER FACE, A RIGHT HOOK SENDS VICTORIA DOWN TO HER FRONT AFTER BEING TURNED AROUND!

Elizabeth smiles as she looks over to her corner, being nudged over to a neutral corner, 1...2...3...4.. Victoria is heard groaning but isn't budging, 5...6...7... Turning her head to the side and her gumshield comes out, 8...9...10 that's all she wrote!

Winner Elizabeth Henstridge KO Round 5

After:
After a slow start that was a dominant finish for Elizabeth, she jumps up and down looking more excited for the first time in months, Ming-Na giving her a thumbs up with a grin.

While Gail scowls at them as she heads into the ring, helping Victoria up to her knees, Justice shaking her head to clear it as she asks "where did that come from?" Surprised by Elizabeth's aggression at the end.

Helped back to her corner, Victoria looks at the canvas with a frustrated look on her face, she came out the blocks looking great but couldn't adapt to the change in style she faced.

The opposite corner of course is a much more happier place, Elizabeth thanking Ming-Na for her advice, the coach simply nodding as she takes off her gloves, Eva hugging Elizabeth as they jump for joy.

Coming over to the center of the ring, the two fighters nod at each other, with Elizabeth getting her hand raised in the air while she is beaming.

Victoria on the other hand is scowling as she leaves the ring, maybe her fight with Becky G did affect her, she isn't making excuses as she heads up the aisle listening to Gail on what they'll work on in training.

Inside the ring Elizabeth poses with her "Master of the Sweet Sciences" shirt on, she has her arms flexed as she has a smile that looks hard to knock off her.

Heading out the ring, she'll be hoping this isn't another false dawn, she has had great runs but never gotten into that elite bracket, can Ming-Na be the difference?
