BEFORE:
After what happened to Avril Lavigne in her last fight, everyone in the audience is a little less than shocked when the singer enters the press hall without much fanfare. Scarlett on the other hand is all smiles as she emerges from backstage, her recent wins against several dangerous opponents giving her a much needed confidence boost in recent months. The blonde actress says first:

"Avril is pretty good. Yes. But I'm glad I'm getting to fight her tonight. We all saw Emma Roberts do a number on her just a month ago, and I'd be surprised if she's fully recovered from THAT beating. You chose the wrong opponent to bounce back with, hon. Tonight is probably going to end in similar fashion for you, only I might not need eight rounds to accomplish it. I've been on quite the roll lately, and fallen queen Lavigne here isn’t going to be the one who stops me. But you're welcome to try, Av...." Scarlett ends with a cocky smile.

Avril responds with a typical eye roll, before grabbing the mic. "Whatever… Scarlett thinks she's some hot sh*t because she's beaten a bunch of nobodies recently… Who cares? She's always been totally overrated. Everyone knows I'm the favorite tonight, including her, despite what she's trying to make you think. I'm gonna kick her ass and take her down a peg tonight!"

Ladies actually meet in the middle of the room to little fireworks, with Scarlett coming in a little larger than her counterpart. But it's a bad idea to bet against Avril's comeback rage, with the Doll out for vengeance against anyone who gets in her way.

Hours later, the former Queen of the Dollhouse is first to part the curtains, looking eager to stake her comeback in her usual black and pink sports bra and long tights, strawberry blonde hair tied up in a high ponytail. Scarlett next to emerge, throwing her hands up to acknowledge the cheering crowds. The Black Widow actress is wearing a white sporta bra and dark blue briefs, sporting a pair of clean white gloves, hair in a bun.

Referee waves his hands and HERE we go with ten rounds of Flyweight action!

ROUND 1:
Round actually starts slow, with all that abuse taken by Lavigne finally giving the Canadian singer some pause. Girls slow dance across the ring, exchanging brief jab flurries but scoring mostly on the arms. Perhaps Avril is trying to conserve her stamina, the one weakness she's been criticised for over the years. She keeps her distance and jabs at Scarlett's face, trying to keep the bigger woman at bay. Johansson herself has been warned about her opponent's propensity for rage and sudden rushes, keeps her holes small as she too blocks most of the Doll’s incoming punches. Only after the first two minutes does Scarlett kick things off proper, begins to pressure Lavigne backwards with more and more straight hands sent down the middle. The Marvel actress puts her training on display, lands a couple of stiff shots to the Doll's sternum, making her gasp out loud, and the round ends clearly in one girl’s corner.

ROUND 2:
This new and subdued version of Lavigne might prove to be her undoing as she struggles to fend off her opponent's aggression. Scarlett maintains the pressure in the first minute, keeps on pestering Lavigne with jab combos sent high and low, landing shots on her face and then going after her vulnerable body whenever Avril drops her guard. Second half has Lavigne moving even faster, jumping out of the way whenever Scarlett twitches forward an inch, occasionally blasting back with her right hand straight to the blonde’s nose and lips. Johansson to her credit keeps to her guns though she’s taking some shots, even if she doesn't realise she's slowly bleeding points by the time the bell rings.

ROUND 3:
Johansson has been a longer, tougher fighter in the ring, once written off by her peers both inside and outside but now staking a comeback, recently beating other girls like Sophia Bush and Olivia Munn to the punch, before landing her shot with the former Flyweight Queen herself. Avril squeals as another right hand shocks her to the middle of the arms, Scarlett's power and precision too much to handle at this point. Scarlett follows up with more rapid-fire jabs that catch the Doll on the face and lips. Lavigne panting hard as she circles back some more, needs to find a strategy of breaking the blonde's offense if she hopes to stay alive here. If she can't use her traditional all-out aggression, Avril needs to find another tool in her box. She goes for counter-punching, dodging another hook from Johansson, before socking the blonde in the mouth over and over with return jabs. But it's not enough to win the judges over, with Scarlett still taking the round by small margin when the bell rings.

ROUND 4:
Scarlett however doesn't seem to be out of stamina just yet, all that Hollywood training giving her sea-worthy legs to rush her opponent with. Lavigne however keeps herself calm, weaves and jumps out of the way then retaliates with more jabs to the blonde's face and body. Scarlett grunts out loud as her body gets targeted in the middle minute- she’s stopped in her tracks as Avril shoves another left cross straight into her midsection, before another blasting hook catches her on the arms. Scarlett slowly realising that her foe means business, begins to slow down now that Avril seems to be powering up her engines. Blonde spends the final seconds staying nimble on her feet, with Avril peppering her guard back, but truthfully, neither woman lands anything else significant.

ROUND 5:
HERE'S the Avril we know! The Doll charges forward right out the gate, looking revitalised and firing aplenty in Scarlett's direction! The former Queen scores on her wounded adversary, stuffing leather gloves into the actress’ body before taking bigger swings at Scarlett's head. But the blonde’s turn to stay calm and rooted, moving backwards as she seeks to absorb the punishment for the remainder of the round. Johansson gets beat back to the ropes but her head still neatly hidden in her arms, groaning though as her lean tummy takes a pounding. Avril lets out another shriek as she's suddenly enveloped by the blonde's arms, finds herself in an inconvenient clinch as the two women go rotating along the ropes. Her eagerness to put Scarlett down means she let herself get caught in this situation, taking turns digging gloves into each other's sides until the bell rings.

ROUND 6:
So far, no knockdown for either girl, and that's certainly surprising for someone like Avril. First minute has them return to their roots: a slow circle about the ring as they occasionally trade jabs to the face and body. Avril gets stunned by a nasty one-two direct hits to the nostrils… But the Doll responds on instinct with a wide swing to the head. Only Scarlett DUCKS under, continues to rap those knuckles on the poor girl's face in left-right-left fashion Lavigne beaten backwards, her gloves flying all over the place as Scarlett seizes on her disorientation! Another swing to the head has the Canadian GASPING out loud, staggering to her side… Johansson follows without hesitation, HUGE right hook clean on the chin and DOWN GOSS LAVIGNE!! The poor songstress CRASHING down to the mat in a heap and the crowd is STUNNED!!!

It's a gaudy KNOCKDOWN for Scarlett Johansson, who looks pleased as punch as she parades back to corner. Lavigne might be completely out cold here folks! She is NOT moving at all, limbs limp on the mat and eyes shut as the referee starts the count! 5….6….7….there is no sign of life from the beaten blonde who’s splayed on the mat in deep sleep! 9…10!!! He could have counted to 200…Lavigne is done here! ITS OVER!

Official Decision: Scarlett Johansson defeats Avril Lavigne via KO6!

AFTER:
WOW! Massive win for Scarlett Johansson and arguably the biggest win on her resume since flooring Hayden Panettiere back in November of last year. She's proven she has more than a fighting chance in the ring, denting Lavigne’s quick comeback she was promised.

Scarlett celebrates with her team members in the corner first, all smiles, before taking the slow walk over to Avril's side. The beaten singer has just been revived by the Dollhouse medical team and is looking very groggy as she sits up on the mat, with victorious blonde towering over her.

"Gee, you don't look too good Av," Johansson teases. "Tell you what, I'll keep waiting patiently for that ass-kicking you promised. Call my manager when you're finally able to deliver, okay?"

Lavigne too shocked to respond verbally as she stares up at the woman who managed to best her tonight. Scarlett, ever classy, leaves the post-fight humiliation there, allowing Avril to stew in her own defeat. She leaves the ring to loud cheers and the future seems promising for the thirty-something-year-old who’s having a quick chat with reporters outside the ring.
“I expected this to be a bit….I don’t know…harder?” Scarlett laughs. “If she wasn’t taking me too seriously, she definitely will now. I’m a former 3 time champion, Avril honey.” The blonde speaks to the camera. “Hit me up if and when you want a rematch. I’d love to do this again.”
Scarlett then blows a kiss to the cheering fans who certainly got their money’s worth tonight watching her knocking the lights out of the cocky Canadian singer in a fight that will surely have big implications for both of these women’s careers going forward.
