Kara Killmer versus Alesha Dixon

Kara looked good against Shay Mitchell on debut – until Shay upped her game in the second round, and laid her out. Alesha is very much in the veteran stage of her career, and one wonders why she has challenged the Texan, who is very much full of energy when the girls face ach other across the ring, Kara in a baby blue t shirt, white knickers, and blue boots and gloves, Alesha in contrast wearing a red leotard/swimsuit with white boots and red gloves, and when they meet midring to receive their instructions, it is clear that Alesha is a good 2 inches taller

The girls return to their corners, and wait for the opening bell

Round 1
Both girls are keen to get on with the action, Alesha standing tall, stabbing out her left jab, quickly finding her range, and more importantly, finding Kara’s face, her red glove constantly prodding Kara’s head backwards, but the Texan’s not taking that lightly, and she fights back, doesn’t worry about taking a few punches, as long as she can hit Alesha, and she’s doing just that, getting inside the Brit’s longer reach and punishing her with good punches to her ribcage and midriff, Alesha trying to clinch, with the busy Kara resisting, and she’s taking control of Alesha, banging those bodyshots in, the English babe backed up to theropes now, and once she’s got her there. She doesn’t want her to get free, at last hitting Alesha’s face with her fast, stunning punches, the Brit already bleeding from her lips as she gets rather worked over in the opening round, and she’ll be glad of the break between rounds

Round 2
Alesha’s looking rather deflated after losing the initiative in the opening round, but Kara’s memories of what Shay Mitchell did to her in similar circumstances in her previous fight seem to be getting to her, and she isn’t attacking Alesha, who takes advantage, thumping the blonde with some very sharp left jabs, and letting her right hook go as well, sending Kara skittering backwards towards a neutral corner, where Alesha closes her down, hits her to either side of her face, then moves to work on her body, but Kara punches her way out, those blue gloves doing Alesha some damage as the collide with her face, but the Brit isn’t looking worried, and she’s soon getting back on top, hitting Kara to her nose with that accurate jab, Kara’s head jerking backwards, and Alesha then hits her around the tits with a couple of nasty left and right hooks, the American less than happy with that treatment, snarling at Alesha at the bell

Round 3
Kara’s still annoyed as the girls start to fight again, and she channels that into aggression as she sets about the older girl, hitting her to the ribs with solid punches, at first taking a few quick jabs from Alesha, but as she applies pressure to the Brit, those jabs become less frequent, and Kara’s giving Alesha’s body quite a workout, hitting her to her ribs and midriff as she begins to soften the older girl up, Alesha’s height and reach advantages not much use when she’s on the wrong end of a good hiding, and that’s what she’s getting right now as she drops her arms to protect her body, then eats a peach of a right hook, with a left cross following quickly, Alesha’s face beginning to show wear and tear around her cheekbones, which are looking sore, and she squeaks a little when Kara thuds another right hook into her midriff, the Brit running down the clock, leaning into Kara, who’s telling her, “I’m about to finish this, you old hag!”

Round 4
Kara’s still bossing Alesha, thudding those bright blue gloves into the Brit’s body, and now she stands back to hit Alesha’s face – but she gets it wrong, and Alesha hits and hurts her with three quick straight left jabs and a right hook, and the alarm bells ring for Kara, who didn’t look good against Shay Mitchell once Shat had the measure of her, and maybe that’s what Alesha has now as she swats the blonde’s face left to right and back again, and all of a sudden Kara doesn’t look as comfortable, visibly stunned by the singer’s power, Alesha clearly not weakened by Kara’s attack on her body, although the Texan hasn’t given up yet, and she thuds a solid right hook into Alesha’s ribs, follows it with another, and pins the older girl to the ropes in a closing flourish, a left hook to Alesha’s face obviously stinging her, and there’s a smear of blood around her right eye after that punch, a little cut opening up in the corner of the Brit’s eye, and the round ends with Alesha clearly worrying about the facial damage, even though she’d got on top of Kara

Round 5
Alesha’s been patched up, and starts the round positively as she gets that left jab working again, Kara again finding that she can keep the taller girl at bay if she works her body, because Alesha isn’t the sort of girl to stand and fight these days, preferring to defend, and stop her opponent landing punches before coming back with her own, and she’s clinching and holding, frustrating Kara, who wants to dominate Alesha in this round, after fighting back so well in the fourth, but she still manages to hit at the Brit’s body at close range, although when the referee breaks the clinch, it’s Alesha who lands the first punches from the restart, banging Kara’s head backwards with a couple of jabs, then, as the younger girl’s defensive shape crumbles, she hits her hard in the gut, a real strength sapping punch, Kara leaning over forwards, and it’s time for an uppercut! Alesha lifts Kara’s head up and back with a huge right hand shot, and the blonde loses her footing and topples over backwards, the ropes breaking her fall. Alesha stands over Kara, the referee having to push her away, and he counts the Teaxna, who manages to rise at 7, but she’s very distressed, and Alesha grins as she lands another left jab and right cross combination, Kara wobbling, but just about staying on her feet as the bell ends round five

Round 6
Kara’s not looking great as she comes out again, and her movements are slower, Alesha finding it fairly easy to hit her face, Kara’s gloves offering little defence, and as the Brit switches and hits her body a couple of times, just wanting to make sure that the blonde’s resistance is over, and now she’s satisfied that Kara’s had enough, she moves side to side, jabbing a dizzy Kara again and again, then she whups in a right hook to the side of Kara’s head, and puts her down again, the blonde hardly stirring as she’s counted out on her back

Result: Alesha Dixon knocked out Kara Killmer in round 6

Well, Alesha certainly stepped up to the mark tonight, the veteran British fighter getting a rare win in FCBA, and she’s enjoying herself so much afterwards that Kara manages to slip away un noticed, Alesha unable to humiliate her as she would surely have planned
