Results: Lookout Writing: Archer & Medallion

Eliza: 39 YO, 5’5 (1.65), 98-53-6, 61 KO since 2000, Medallion

Rachel: 41 YO, 5’4 (1.63 m), 53-43-1, 31 KO since 2005, Foxfire Boxing

Before: “I was surprised that Rachel has gone on fighting,” Eliza Dushku said, “but some of us just don’t know when to quit or at least start checking out the Cougar Division. Still, if she wants to fight me, who am I to turn her down? I’ll be it’s because she’s never beaten me, the first time was a draw in 2006 and then she lost a decision to me the next year. I guess I must be a thorn in her side. Not as big as, say Neve Campbell, but enough to be annoyance.”

Rachel McAdams: “You’re right about one thing Eliza: you are an annoyance. I am not quite sure why it’s taken 13 years for us to have our third fight, but it happened. Now I am going to tie up one more lose end and make sure I’ve beaten Eliza.”

“It may tie up a lose end, but I’ll still be unbeaten against you,” Eliza says with confidence.

Lots of interest in this bout between two former champions with long histories in the FCBA Rachel comes to ring in her favorite black red and pink one piece with pink boots and gloves (black laces). Auburn hair pulled back into a battle braid. Eliza in a black one piece with red gloves and boots (black laces). Hair in simple ponytail. Ring instructions proceed smoothly. Eliza and Rachel tap gloves and then go to their corners. The bell rings.

R1: Rachel going straight at Eliza as soon as the bell rings and she’s firing quick rights and lefts into the brunette’s face. Eliza answering with counters to Rachel’s head, but Rachel moving quickly and evding these. Rachel now with right to the jaw, left to the chin and she’s got Elza covering up. Rachel quickly shifts to swabbing Eliza’s ribs and stomach with slashing rights and lefts, then it’s up the middle into the belly with right and left hooks. Eliza on her heels, backing away from Rachel’s relentless pressure. Rachel seems to be looking to cut off the ring and bully Eliza into the ropes, but Eliza gets her jab going sufficiently to stall this effort to the bell.

R2: Eliza not about to be surprised again, is out quickly from her corner and ready to meet a rapidly closing in Rachel. Booming exchange of head shots momentarily stuns them both, but they quickly recover and go right back at it. More head shots, but then Eliza moves in close to bring hooks hard into Rachel’s body. Rachel fighting back and now the two of them are very close bringing short rights and lefts up into ribs and abs. They pound away until Eliza slowly starts to push Rachel back. Rachel’s punch rate falls as she retreats. However it is a fighting withdrawal so Rachel’s defenses are strong to the bell. Judges give the round to Eliza, but it is a narrow win.

R3: Eliza and Rachel both out promptly and Eliza starts to close in for more toe to toe action, but Rachel starts striking at her to the head and face. Eliza’s advance stalls and Rachel now swings hard for the brunette veteran’s jaw. KA-POW! Eliza goes spinning away as Rachel’s right connects solidly to Eliza’s jaw. Eliza now all wobbly as she stumbles into the ropes. Rachel swarming in to rain leather down on Eliza’s head and shoulders. Eliza wraps Rachel up in a clinch to halt the torrent and referee pushes them apart. Rachel drives Eliza back onto the ropes. Eliza covering up face in gloves as Rachel works her over to the body. Eliza taking a seat in the ropes and bracing herself to keep standing as Rachel works her over to the bell. Rachel wins the round wide, but looks frustrated that Eliza was able to escape without so much as a knockdown.

R4: Eliza and Rachel now circle each other at mid ring after the bell has rung to start the action. Eliza works Rachel to the body to start things out and has to dodge Rachel’s counters to Eliza’s head. Eliza just pounding away at Rachel’s midsection and she’s starting to tilt Rachel forward. Then Eliza suddenly brings an lightning strike right uppercut into Rachel’s chin. Rachel’s head snaps back and she lurches backwards on rubbery legs. Eliza now pounds the midsection until she’s got Rachel doubled forward and then hammers away at the sides of her head. Rachel just trying to protect her head and get away from Eliza. Eliza keeps up the pressure as Rachel struggles to stay in the middle of the ring to avoid the ropes. Rounds ends with Eliza banging away at Rachel’s head and flanks. Rachel looking very unsteady as she returns to her corner. Eliza allows herself a small smile.

R5: Rachel worked on by the Foxfire boxing corner crew during the break, but she looks sluggish as she comes out at the bell. Rachel’s got her gloves up high around her face and looks very defensive. Eliza slowly approaching, sizing up Rachel and then commits to another attack to the midsection. Rachel struggling against the repeated impacts to her stomach and ribs. Eliza going all out now and she’s got Rachel starting to gasp in pain. Rachel being driven back into the ropes. Rachel lashes out in a desperate effort to turn the tide, but then Eliza brings that righ uppercut into Rachel’s chin. Impact is even greater this time, Rachel lifted off her feet and HURLED into the ropes, she bounces off and Eliza drives a straight right that catches Rachel between the eyes. DOWN GOES RACHEL! Rachel McAdams is sprawled on her face as Eliza Dushku struts away with a big smile on her face. Referee’s count is a mere formality as Rachel can barely raise her head and look up blankly at the official.

“EIGHT!...NINE!...TEN!...YER OUT!”

THE WINNER ELIZA DUSHKU DEFEATS RACHEL MCADAMS KO5!

After: “I won—again,” Eliza tells the press, “now she will have to live with not being able to beat me. Frankly, I think she ought to consider hanging them up. She couldn’t take my punches. I broke her and she needs to realize that.”

Rachel McAdams later informed of these comments responds: “I will decide my future when I am good and ready. If I wanted her advice, I would ask for it! I think I could have won this thing, but I didn’t. That is really frustrating, Now excuse me, I have other things to do!”

Rachel McAdams is now clearly in the twilight of her FCBA career and the shadows are growing long. It is rumored she is holding out for 100 career fights (this was the 98th). She might want to take Cougar boxing seriously if she wants to end her career on a positive note. Meanwhile, Eliza Dushku showed she’s still got what it takes to win and this has to have been a very satisfying victory for her.
