Cardi B versus Anne Hathaway

The bout this evening was between two fighters seeking to get back on the winning track. Cardi B will be boxing with Anne Hathaway.

Anne had been coming to GBS’s gym and trying to get signed along with her trainer and sparring partner Rihanna.

Kate finally agreed to give her a bout with Cardi.

Rihanna began working with Anne to box Cardi. Ri-ri could not resist trash talking Cardi. Soon both were in each other’s face. That brought the intensity for this bout up to 11.

The weigh in and press conference again was heavy with security and it was needed. As both boxers had to be held back as did Rihanna.

Cardi was first in the ring with black leather trunks and a black halter top with black gloves.

Anne is in red leather trunks with red top and red gloves.

Round 1:

Cardi came out quick and seemed to be in control for the round. She got inside on Anne using her feints and threw some nasty hooks to Anne’s gut. But it was her jab that got her there. Anne was surprised by Cardi’s fight plan. Hathaway dropped the round widely.
Round 2 & 3:

The second round saw Anne come out with her jab first. This stopped Cardi and allowed Anne to dictate terms as the round opened up. Cardi is backed up and Hathaway gets some straights into her body. Cardi eventually shakes loose and fires up into Anne’s face with a couple uppercuts. This brought the fight back to middle of the ring. The two punched the rest of the round but Anne wound up winning a close round.

The third round again had Anne in control with her jabbing. But she got more behind them as she started to open up on Cardi. By the end of the first minute, she landed back to back hooks to Cardi’s gut and CARDI GOES DOWN! She gets up by the count of 7 and the fight continues. Cardi tries to fight better defensively as Hathaway comes in full bar. Anne punches in and out at Cardi’s body and Cardi clinches. After being broken apart, Cardi got on her feet and jabbed out the rest of this round. Anne won the round widely.

Round 4:

Cardi came out better on her toes as the fourth round opened. She had gotten a huge talking to in her corner during the break from her corner staff. She nailed Anne with a couple nice cross and hook combinations. Those brought Anne back and away from Cardi. Cardi goes to follow Anne but get 2 straight punches into her gut for doing so. Those lead to quick left and rights to her face which caused Cardi to back away. But near the bell, she landed a couple hard crosses to Hathaway’s face. Cardi won a close round.

Round 5:
Cardi came out of her corner quicker now as the 5th round opened. She caught Anne with a couple hooks which backed Hathaway up. Cardi caught Anne’s gloves up and went to her gut with a couple hard straights. Those knocked Anne’s wind out and she was frozen there. Cardi immediately went to her head with back to back uppercuts. Rihanna screams for Anne to clinch but Cardi moves away and throws 2 more crosses to Anne’s head. Rihanna is practically in the ring before she is pulled back by FCBA security. Cardi hits another right uppercut and DOWN GOES HATHAWAY! Cardi goes to a neutral corner and twerks her body while the count is begun. Rihanna rushes over to implore Anne to rise. She is on her knees by 7 but gets no further. KO 5 – Cardi B.

After:

Cardi comes out of the corner with her gloves up in a victory pose. The female referee raises her right arm when Cardi comes to middle of the ring. Cardi continues to show off and celebrate her knockout win.

Anne is helped to her corner where she is attended to.

Cardi and Rihanna keep up their war or words before Rihanna is pulled away by security.

We await word on Rihanna boxing Cardi.
