The fighters were interviewed at their gyms; Vera finishing pounding the punchbag and heads over to talk to the press. "I have heard enough from Kate the past few weeks since the fight was made, she is an arrogant bytch that I will enjoy crushing" says Vera in her heavy accent. "I feel in amazing shape and hopefully Helen Flanagan will be there to watch me crush Kate under my foot" adds Vera as she goes back to training. Kate meanwhile finishes sparring with a local fighter and as she sees the press, she climbs out the ring and heads over to them. "I just have one thing to say and it's to Vera; if that bytch thinks I am going to roll over for her, she has another thing coming!" Roars Kate as she looks angry. "I am sick of hearing about the bytch, she isn't in my class and I will hurt her badly when I get my chance" says Kate as she tosses her gloves to the ground and marches off to go get changed.
Fight night; the cameras catch a special VIP, BBU bantamweight champion Helen Flanagan is sitting at ringside, ready to see who wins this highly charged contest. Out comes Vera with her coach behind her; a look of all business on her face as she jogs down the aisle to the ring, she ignores Helen as she passes where she sits. She is wearing a red sports bra, red trunks with gold strips up the side, red shoes and red gloves with glove thumbs, her hair is braid. Entering the ring; Vera isn't getting a warm welcome from the crowd, but her expression is emotionless, focused on warming up. Now Kate comes out to a loud cheer; she looks angry already as she marches to the ring, stopping as she sees Helen in the front row and tells her "you're next!" Then begins her march to the ring again. She is wearing a black sports bra with gold trim, black trunks with gold strips up the sides, black gloves with gold thumbs and black shoes, her hair is also braided. Climbing into the ring; Kate shouts at Vera "I'm going to f*** you up!" With Vera waving her to bring it, the referee shouting at Kate to get to her corner, which she does at the urging of her coach. The fighters are brought to the ring center by the referee, who stays between the fighters as they trade insults, eyes locked in a hateful stare as the referee tries to keep order. When asked to touch gloves; they simply head back to their corners with no respect shown, the referee shakes their head, knowing they are going to be busy tonight, with 10 rounds of bantamweight action ahead.
Round 1: Out come the fighters and straight away they are trading hard shots on the inside, both look to be snarling as they go toe to toe, wanting to make a statement right away. Kate slips under a right to come inside and work the body of Vera, who has to cover up and move back as Kate is trying to chew away with her fists into her opponent's body. The singer having to shove Kate back and comes at her with straight punches to knock her head back, leading to the English lass to retreat back. Now Vera is the one pushing the action, knocking Kate towards the ropes as she pounds her guard, till Kate dips under a right hook and lands two rights into the abs of Brezhneva. Back and forth go the fighters, neither wanting to give up an inch to the other as they end up trading in the center of the ring. Kate uses her left to push Vera to the face and lands a right hook that turns Vera's head to the side, Lawler using the opening to back Vera on the ropes with her punches finding a home through the gloves of her opponent. With Vera trying to fight her way off the ropes to end an action packed round, the bell sounds and the referee nudges them apart, standing between them and ordering them to their corners. Pundits saying that Kate probably nicked the round at the end, with Kate seemingly agreeing as she tells her coach she has Vera running.
Round 2: Back out the fighters come to the ring center; throwing more then single punches at a time as they really want to mark each other up. Kate again slips under a straight, going to work on the abs of Vera as she backs her up to the ropes, with Vera pulling Kate into a front headlock to loud boos from the fans. Both are separated by the referee; with Kate shoving Vera to her face behind their back, the referee warning both to keep things clean. When they are told to continue; both square up and start basically brawling, not much landing cleanly on target as much as finding air or the others arms when they go to the body. Kate again surprises Vera by leaning out the way of a right and slams a left and right straight into the face of Vera, with a right cross cutting across her lips to open them up. Vera stuck on the defensive; Kate like a pitbull in her attack, sending a flurry of punches that rain off the gloves of Brezhneva. The guard of Vera seems to keep her out of trouble for the remainder of the round, Kate wasting a lot of punches off the gloves of the Baltic fighter. The round ends with Kate adding another round on the scorecard, she heads back to her corner but looks keen to continue as she bangs her gloves together and grins. While Vera gets shouted at by her coach, told to stop fighting Kate's style of fight and rely on her boxing skills to win this.
Round 3: Vera seems to heed her coaches advice, she starts to fight from behind her jab more as Kate continues to try and get into the face of the older fighter. Kate is getting caught more as she moves in close, her head gets snapped back by a double jab and straight, knocking Kate behind her gloves. With Vera pressing forwards as she bangs away at the gloves of Kate, finding gaps in her guard to knock her towards the ropes. Kate needs to clinch up with Vera, looking annoyed as the referee steps in, Kate as soon as the referee allows them to continue, she lands a straight up top and puts her head down as she goes to the body. Vera needs to step back and land a right cross to knock Kate back a step, the fighters rub heads as they work the others body. Late in the round; Vera gets nudged back with a left shoulder by Kate, who lands an uppercut that pushes Vera onto her heels. The bell rings to end the round; neither looking happy as they exchange insults, eyes locked in hateful stares as the referee shouts at both to calm down. Their coaches step in to pull them back to their corners, with Vera's coach telling her "I told you to keep calm and use your head to win this!" While Kate's coach is telling her not to blindly charge in, she still looks upset as she looks up at the ceiling, trying to keep herself calm.
Round 4: Both women step out and trade stiff shots at the center of the ring; Kate looks to back up Vera after dipping under a jab and landing an overhand right. Getting in close; she slams in a left and right to the ribs of Vera to back her up, missing with an uppercut as her opponent leans back out the way and moves back into space. When Kate tries to push on; Vera counters after parrying a straight with one of her own to knock Kate back a step. It's Vera pushing the pace as she steps forwards with a double jab landing on the nose of Kate, with a right hook knocking Lawler's head to the side. Suddenly Kate doesn't look as keen to mix things up with her opponent, Vera banging away at the gloves of her opponent. Kate tries to step in with a right up top; but Vera parries the punch and lands an uppercut that rocks the local fighter back onto her heels. That's the opening that Vera wants, she busts open the nose of Kate with a hard right across it, knocking Kate onto the ropes. Late in the round; Kate tries to clinch up with Vera, but she gets caught with a right onto her bloody nose and a left hook to knock her back on the ropes. The round ends with Vera giving Kate a push, telling her "you are nothing!" As she turns her back on her, the referee keeping Kate back in case she charges Vera. Both women are bloodied up and their faces are marked up as their coaches work hard, Vera though knows she had hurt Kate.
Round 5: Vera uses her jab to measure up Kate; who looks slower now as she tries to duck and weave her way inside, but Vera is catching her to the top of her head. When Kate gets caught with a straight on her nose, IT OPENS HER UP TO ANOTHER RIGHT ACROSS HER NOSE TO WOBBLE HER, A LEFT AND RIGHT HOOK ACROSS THE FACE PUTS KATE ONTO HER BACK! The crowd boos as Vera simply walks over to a neutral corner with no expression, 1....2...3 Kate shaking her head, blood running from her nose down to the canvas, 4...5...6 turning to her side, she looks close to tears as she holds her nose, 7...8...9...10 Kate is counted out!
Winner Vera Brezhneva KO Round 5
After: Vera continues on her road to the top with this win, though the crowd don't look happy as they don't cheer her as she raises her arms into the air. While Kate is checked on by the referee and ringside doctor, she is helped to sit up and she looks pissed off as she looks at them while they stop her nose bleeding. She is helped to stand up and Kate scowls over at Vera, who scowls back from her corner as she gets her gloves taken off. The referee and coaches stand between the fighters in case they decide to continue fighting it out, with Kate shouting at Vera that she was lucky. Kate is taken out the ring by her coach; Helen Flanagan at ring side smirks at her and Kate's reply is to stick her middle finger up at her, before heading to her locker room. While in the ring; Vera gets her hand raised and a hug from her coach follows, she finally smiles as she gets a moment to celebrate this win. But as Helen catches her eye; she slides out the ring and stands in front of her with a barrier separating them, both exchanging taunts as they scowl at each other. Till Helen stands up and can be heard saying "be careful what you ask for bytch" before she turns and heads out the Hall. Vera just nods with a smile; hoping that is a yes to finally getting a shot at the title, heading to the back with dreams of shutting up Helen and bringing home the gold.
