Kate Upton versus Adrianne Palicki

(Words: Sceej / Results: Lookout!)

Pre fight: Mutual respect between two big girls jostling for position in the welterweight division. Most recent rankings had Palicki ranked fourth and Upton sixth. Kate currently ranked seventh among top ten pound for pound but Adrianne only a couple fights removed from a welterweight title reign. Overall, the pundits have this one close but edge to Upton off her much better record in the last twenty fights and JMDD title.

Fight night: Palicki to ring to strains of LL Cool J’s “Mama Said Knock You Out!” accompanied by Sceej trainer Scrubby McGee and his assistant Jack Daniels! Applause for the “Chin Checker in her orange crocheted bikini drowned out by greater roar or Kate “The Great” Upton, to ring accompanied by trainer Nichole Kidman. Announcer quips, “I’m sure there are fighters who could beat Upton in the disrobe … but damned if I can think of one!”

Round 1: Girls out of corner = no rush. Upton in upright stance - the classic boxer puncher. Palicki the knockout artist - left dangling low, right hand cocked at cheek. Amazon Adrianne about an inch taller and longer limbed, able to spear and guide Kate with that long jab. Managing distance, looking to frustrate the model into taking risks but Kate too well schooled. Model moving her head side to side to work inside and once in there, goes body on lanky opponent. Palicki does not like the body work, looks to clinch, referee chiding girls to “punch and get out”. As they separate, Palciki clangs left off Upton jaw, that swivels the blonde’s head and has her disorganized and staring. The Chin Checker goes for early kill, heaving that big right hand like a sash weight, but Kate able to disengage and trade canvas for time. Bell rings ending a solid first round for Adrianne.

Round 2: Nichole in Kate’s ear “You spotted her a round - no problem. This is not going ten anyway. Circle left away from that big right .. frustrate her … get her to reach … you’re better than her, just let it come!”. Round two and Kate a little crisper … a little more intense. Engaging Adrianne in battle of the jabs - pitting her hand speed against the bigger girls’ length and occasionally knocking that head back, then quick pivot on heel - not waiting for the receipt. Adrianne begins to pursue and plays into the model’s hands - timing that advance, Kate feigns jab and fires straight right hand which smacks Sceej fighter’s forehead - forcing a step back, blinking. Kate on the attack, left right to the body, drives Adiranne to ropes, bigger girl rips hook back to the head but skips off the scalp line and Kate rings her up with a left uppercut that has Palicki looking to tie up. Comeback round for Kate Upton.

Round 3: One round each and its obviously anybody’s fight. Big girls square off mid ring, a lot of feinting - both looking to counterpunch which slows the action considerably. Kate feints right hand lead and spanks left hook to the rib cage … then brings hook upstairs to drive Adrianne back. Now Upton seizes momentum and hounding Palicki around ring, Adrianne in a fighting retreat but getting worst of the exchanges. Late in the second minute, big girl digs toes of back foot into canvas and … chin checked!!! That long right kisses Upton chin and the model sprawls to the canvas. Not the diamond cutter but Blonde’s bell well and truly rung. Up at five and takes an unsteady eight count. Palicki looking to finish, drives model to ropes and unleashes - Upton sits behind her guard and takes a whupping but protects head and lasts the round - but big round to the Chin Checker!

Round 4: Adrianne looking to end it, aggressively pursuing Kate, letting her hands fly with abandon. Left jab … pap pap pap … touching the forehead as a range finder, then that big overhand right that only glances of this one would be over now! Upton in unabashed retreat but she has her legs under her, keeping the guard high, not looking to respond, trading the round for time to fully clear her head. Giraffe-like opponent not the nimblest at cutting off a ring and pursues around the perimeter. Late in the round, model plants her feet and decides to trade - blazing two way action but Kate a little fresher. Slips that big right and erupts out of croush with a left hook and PALICKI DOWN! Hook right on the jaw and the big girl spills back on her haunches with that “wha’ happened?” look on her face! Adrianne able to beat the count, up at “6” but Kate is firmly back in this fight.

Rounds 5-6: And just when it looks Like Kate Upton is taking command, here comes the big girl from Sceej Boxing! Masterful boxing punctuated with power. Upton so often on the end of that long stinging jab. When she crouches and looks to scoot inside, Palicki rings her up with bolo punch to solar plexus, then hooks the rib cage with buggy-whip left. Two round of pounding with very little response from Upton. After trapping Kate in corner and pounding body for last thirty second straight of round 6, usually reserved Palciki shouts “Yeah!” at a bleak looking Kate Upton.

Round 7: Wise old Scrubby McGee scolding the Chin Checker in the corner “Ya had her …Ya need ta finish, Addie ... ya need to get rid of dis goil .. she’s dangerous!” Prophetic words from the veteran trainer. Palicki has burned a lot of energy over the last two rounds, does not have the same snap on the jab and legs a little dead. Upton capitalizes - one two left jab and straight right rocks the big girl and drives her to ropes. Doubles … triples the left hook to the body has Palicki sagging and covering up. Kate Upton just lathering those flanks with both hands … occasionally splitting the gloves with an uppercut. It’s a ramshackle Palicki by the end of the round and Kate leading cheers as she goes back to Lookout corner, waving glove above head.

Round 8: Adrianne Palicki creaky off the stool, Nicole Kidman stares across the ring and whispers icily into Kate Upron’s ear, “Finish her”. Upton across the ring purposeful, Paliki not even leaving her corner, looking to make her stand there. Upton feinting and Paliski is spooked. In desperation, Palicki throws the big right but Ray Charles could see it coming! Upton slips the shot and crashes left hook on the big girl’s chin … adh there go her legs. Palciki blasted to her haunches. Upton throws both hands in the air and perhaps recalling Adrianne’s premature celebration bellows “YEAH!”. Adianne groping for ropes with her right hand, trying to pull herself up but legs not there. The ten count passes and …

… Winner by Knockout in the 8th round … Kate “The Great” Upton.
