5. Hannah Ferguson vs Paula Patton

BEFORE:
Paula Patton ranked #40 on the latest Boxing World Divisional Rankings, at one point in the past however cracking the Top 20. This month alone, however, the 44 year old is scheduled to fight Hannah Ferguson and then good buddy Hilary Rhoda in another two weeks’ time - not bad for an unmanaged fighter these days.

“Maybe my luck’s turning? I’ve lost both my fights thus far in the year, so I’m eager to turn things around. And what better way to do that than to floor two former Welterweight champions back-to-back? Hannah’s dangerous but even she can’t deny that she’s been slipping in the rankings. Those two losses to Tahnee have certainly hurt her ego, and I plan on exploiting that vulnerability tonight.”

Hannah Ferguson’s obviously not looking too impressed from her end of the press table, rolling her eyes repeatedly as she hears these comments.

“Patton’s always been a gate-keeper, you know? An aging gatekeeper, no doubt, but someone whom my team’s been pestering me all this time to get the fight over and done with, like a piece of dirty laundry that needs some spanking. Let’s be clear: my target’s still on capturing the Welterweight gold again, no matter *who* wins the belt tonight. I can kick Decker or Atkinson’s ass - doesn’t matter to me.”

Ladies square off at the podium, camera flashes capturing the slight three-inch height advantage Hannah Ferguson’s bringing to this contest. Of course, Patton’s kicked plenty of ass herself if those recent Hollywood blockbuster fights have been any indication, meaning the older actress can use her bulkier frame to frustrate the former champ.

Later in the ring, Hannah waves to the fans as the ring official announces her name to the arena. The Vixen’s dressed in a cotton black bra and white briefs, donning red gloves on either hand. Patton draws an audible reaction as well, her movie roles suiting her popularity as she strides down the ramp in a clean yellow bikini top, white boxing shorts and blue gloves on hand. HERE we go with ten rounds of Welterweight action!

ROUND 1:
Hannah starts with a bang, maybe wanting to prove her dominance as she wrecks Paula’s arms with plenty of bombs. Paula however takes them like a champ, though the sudden crosses to her guard are starting to add up by the second minute where she finds herself staggering back slightly. Patton returns the favour soon enough, a heavy hook crashing into the model’s arms, shocking Hannah to the side with sudden power. Two can play at that game, Patton probably smirks to herself as she rocks another blow to the center of Hannah’s arms, showing her who’s really the boss in this contest. The two power-hitters go at each other for another minute, trading body blows to each other’s flanks before Ferguson finally opts to retreat in order to salvage this round. Her early offense is still gonna win her the round by a small margin, but it’s not something we would brag home about.

ROUND 2:
Paula sees the blonde’s retreat and seizes the advantage, charging out of corner already swingin’. She frustrates Hannah’s attempts to stop her by sending a straight hand sailing through the Vixen’s defenses, despite taking some hits to the chin along the way. Hannah jabbing back like a speed demon, landing hits all over due to Paula’s lacklustre defense, but the big brunette is after her real prize: left hand jammed hard into Hannah’s nose, then another hook swiped across her shocked face, leaving the Vixen swerving offroad in tatters, a rare experience indeed to get manhandled like that by another woman. Patton chases after Ferguson, still firing jabs to her head, but Hannah finally finds her own sea-legs and keeps herself moving to the side and back, staving off potential disaster this time with effective counterpunching.

ROUND 3:
Patton may be almost double Hannah’s age but that ain’t stopping the older gal from going the distance. She comes out of her corner brimming with energy, her sweat-stained chest heaving as she fires off more combos left and right, and weaving her head about like she’s been taught. Hannah going along the ride at first, her arms taking the brunt of the attacks, but at the same time, just refusing to take one step back. Instead, just as Paula’s hook sails past her, the Vixen PLOWS a hook into her face, sending the older actress gurgling to the side in shock! Hannah with that well-executed counter-punch, another dead-ringer sailing in in quick succession to the face, then another and another till the mighty brunette simply COLLAPSES down to her side! It’s a shock KNOCKDOWN for Hannah Ferguson in the third round, leaving Paula bewildered and groaning all over the canvas, as she turns over to meet the glaring stadium lights, both her arms and legs splayed awkwardly by the side! Referee does his magic but it’s clear by this point that this fight was a forgone conclusion! He waves his arms over Paula’s knocked out figure! And it’s a wrap!

Official Decision: Hannah Ferguson defeats Paula Patton via KO3!

AFTER:
An unexpected end to this contest and tonight’s overall event, with Ferguson barely breaking a sweat as she uses her leftover energy to mount the turnbuckle and parade around the rest of the ring. If this was any indication of Patton’s performance, we shudder to think what might happen during her next bout with Rhoda just two weeks away.

For now, Ferguson’s showing some grace, heading over to Patton later on to check on her condition. The crowds are still left wondering what’s next on the former champ’s agenda, but something tells us she’ll be eagerly scrutinising the outcome of the Welterweight title match between two of her fiercest rivals in the ring come the end of June.
