Before: With Hunter King getting steamrolled by Samara Weaving, it’s Sophie’s chance to show the world why she was a trade up. Even better from her point-of-view, it comes against the fighter rumor insists Wiz wanted! Mudd well-schooled in the “act like you’ve been here” method: “Of course I’m the fighter he wanted. He signed me, didn’t he? Lilli showed we knew the story with Haley, and I’m next in line!”

Pressure is very much on Haley here. With Demi Rose already in title contention and Samara Weaving looking to be there by the end of the summer, every new little girl that comes up on the radar has to be a reminder of just how precarious her position is as long as this slump continues.

R1: Sophie with the more classical approach, flat-footed stalking, sliding forward behind a piston jab, right hand cocked at her chest and poised to drop into openings. Hayley guard up, marching forward, dipping side to side to negotiate the jab as well as powering her side to side clubbing lefts and rights. Spirited stuff as girls take turns midring--Mudd working up the middle, Orrantia getting her sock to the side. Down the stretch, both lean into short rights, twist into come-back hooks but SOPHIE GETS HURT! Orrantia’s glove detonating off Mudd’s jaw, sending the taller beauty clattering back to the ropes. Sophie does well to keep her feet as she swoons. Hayley steps-to puts a HIDING on Sophie’s tanned flanks, nuzzling and pushing inside the guard to dig to the gut. With Mudd broken down and reeling on the spot--Hayley helps herself to jug with brazen womping action, pounding away as groggy Mudd soaks it up glum.

R2: Sophie not all the way back--she hangs a jab and Haley chops a murderous right hand over it, swiveling her head, bending her knees. Orrantia hopping forward, loading up rights, bashing down on the ear, back of the head region as Mudd hits ropes ashambles, reaches to accept a charging Haley onto her chest. Sophie bogging the action down, tying her girl up, wrestling Orrantia to the ropes, gets ugly to buy time. After the stretch, Mudd able to open the range, doing some nice boxing midring, pounding the jab to chest, stacking Haley up and backing the aggressive brunette up.

R3: Sophie able to maintain order in the first minute, rejecting a series of murderous rushes, running Haley onto the jab, forcing her back outside. Range established, Mudd starts to come forward again, spends the second minute methodically advancing, getting the right hand dialed in--Orrantia backing up, lifting her arms to block, but this isn’t a good posture for her. Down the stretch Sophie puts it all together--slamming jabs, slicing footwork to get position, and body lean into a short, crashing right to the chin and THERE GOES HALEY! Orrantia sprawled against the ropes, face pale, eyes dreamy, Mudd extending the left to measure, then driving it off her back foot, plowing rights home to chin and chest. Haley’s turn to show some heart--she soaks up some bombs, legs atremble, but holding firm, Sophie denied a KO at the bell.

R4: Haley catches a second wind, really takes it to Sophie bell to bell. Mudd unable to come forward, can’t extend--she’s pressed ropeside, leaning back, gloves up, trying to block the incoming, Orrantia crouching forward, dipping side to side, pulling in compact wallop from either mitt, driving in with her shoulder to stack Sophie up, then digging furiously amidships when in tight. Ref issuing breaks, Haley wading back in to keep the pressure on--not pretty, but it’s good, effective mauling. Orrantia blocked upstairs for the most part, but she’s savaging Mudd to the hips, waist and ribs--good, good body work done by hungry Haley this round.

R5: Sophie jabbing to the body, now leaning in to bounce hard right hands off the body as well, Haley grunting on impact, closing in looking to slug. Midway through, girls are in a dangerous pitching groove, both bending into right hands, coming back with hooks and ORRANTIA GETS ROCKED! Haley beaten to the return hook, knees go weak and she drapes forward to clinch. Sophie with a cagey shoulder-butt in the teeth, flurry to the breadbasket rejects Orrantia's embrace, walking forward behind curling left and right uppercuts to get Haley ropeside. Orrantia leaning up against the ropes, taking hard in the waist, then buckling forward to clinch for breaks. Ref pushing Mudd back - she's hungry, never taking her eyes off Haley, just wading back in, putting more leather on the wilting brunette. Orrantia ragged, hanging on, but down the stretch, she's resolved to slug with and get this girl off her. Spirited, swinging lefts and rights, girls pulling haymakers in from the side and HALEY GOES DOWN! BOOMING right hand flattens Orrantia's head to her shoulder as she misses her own right hand and corkscrews into the mat. Haley sprawling on her back, all stretched out and SHE CAN'T BEAT THE COUNT! Orrantia out cold, head lolling weakly side to side Sophie Mudd makes her PPV debut with a sweet little KO5!
