Vs.
Emily Bett Rickards (28, 5’5, 120 lbs, 12:7 FCBA, Medallion Boxing)
Results: Lookout!; Story: Caspian & The Dollhouse
BEFORE: "My previous fight was a BIG disappointment for me,” Ginny speaks first at the press conference, and no amount of fanfare from the back of the room can wipe that disappointment off her pretty face, as she continues: “I wanted to take a little break and come back stronger. Well, here I am. I got offered Emily as an opponent and she seemed like a good choice for bouncing back. I've watched a bunch of her fights and she's definitely tough as nails. But good luck to her, because I'm winning this one tonight no matter what.”
Emily Bett Rickards having joined Medallion Boxing in 2018 and had a mixed bag of success ever since, but if 2020 is any indication, the blonde actress might be in for a good year herself with a decisive victory over Sasha Pieterse back in January. Tonight, she’s eyeing Ginny as her next victim from across the table, probably viewing the young blonde as easy prey.
“The one word to describe Ginny’s career is ‘inconsistent’. When it matters the most, Gardner doesn’t and hasn’t stepped up to bat at the plate. That’s the reason why she keeps losing to the top 20 fighters in this division,” Emily not mincing words as she goes into a lengthy tirade about Ginny’s past opponents who have bested her. “From Scott to Turner to King, Ginny’s losses have embarrassed herself and her stable. It’s kind of a mystery why the Dollhouse crew continue to invest so much in her. I don’t see it.”
If Emily was trying to sow some turmoil within the Dollhouse ranks, however, she’s sadly mistaken at the sight of Carmen Electra proudly escorting her girl from the press table to center stage, keeping her hands firmly on her shoulders every step of the way. The damage to Ginny’s psychology, however, is much harder to quantify, with Gardner looking irritated after being reminded over and over again about her series of high-profile losses in the past few months.
Emily with no such qualms, however, smirking into the Doll’s face when the two blondes pose at each other in mutual fight stances, then facing the audience with their fists raised high. Gardner’s 5’8 stature might certainly come in handy to Emily’s 5’5 frame, though the lengthier blonde has always faced trouble when it came to her shorter, but stockier opponents.
A day later, Emily Bett Rickards striding down the ramp to the ring first, a pink jacket around her bare shoulders and white loose boxing trunks for tonight. Later, she peels the fabric off her arms to reveal her toned figure underneath, wrapped by a floral-pink brassier and yellow gloves. Ginny looks far more confident herself when it’s her turn to enter the arena, her usual Dollhouse colours of baby blue and grey sports bra and long tights combined to show off her tall and curvy figure.
Referee calls both girls to the center of the ring and at least they both oblige at the touching of gloves. Without further ado, there goes the bell and HERE we go with ten rounds of Bantamweight action!
ROUND 1: Ginny taking it easy (well, not exactly) as she casually slides left and right, wanting to feel Emily’s strategy out first before she commits to a stable offense. It’s good that she’s fighting a little smarter here, as past occasions that saw her being overly aggressive have not always been kind to her chances at victory. But thankfully, Emily not showing much aggression either, literally walking into Ginny’s jabs multiple times, with Gardner treating her fellow blonde to some nice, clean action to the face. Rickards perhaps also just feeling familial about the ring just yet, definitely coming at Ginny with more aggression but then suffering her foe’s long jab early on. But that’s what happens when you have two cautious blondes facing off for the first time, and both coming off painful losses earlier in their careers - neither girl wants to make an early mistake and the lack of action shows.
ROUND 2: Emily however picks up her assault at the bell, rushing Ginny when she’s least expecting an attack. It works for a while, with Gardner letting out a sharp gasp when a stray hook catches her on the forearms, before another fast hand sails deftly above her head and into some stray strands of platinum blonde hair. Emily suddenly wants to brawl and it’s showing, a 180-degree shift for the Medallion starlet, who tries to corner Garnder and go to town on her. Ginny has her work cut out for her all of a sudden, her longer legs working in overtime as she tries to evade Rickards with plenty of pawing jabs, but still getting blasted repeatedly to her arms and side of the head as Rickards squares in close and lets rip a hook or two into her side for good measure. We’ve seen this rodeo before, folks, and apparently Rickards has as well, having watched the tapes of Ginny dancing with girls like Naomi Scott only to get absolutely floored by a slobberknocker in the eighth round. At least Gardner’s still fresh at this point, evading most of her opponent’s devastating swings and blowing leather back into Emily’s face more than once. A close round if we’re keeping track of who’s landing what on whom, but Rickards scores the win at the end of three minutes.
ROUND 3: Emily just not letting up, perhaps at the urging of her corner, who’d pushed her to keep pushing Ginny. Gardner’s weaknesses are well-documented at this point of her career, for better or worse allowing her wins and losses to be studied by her future opponents. Rickards STUNS the Doll to the middle of the arms in the opening minute, wading through a minefield of jabs at her head to finally reach the trenches at the far end of the battlefield, now unloading with bombs to Ginny’s head left and right, trying to route the Doll where she stands. Gardner in danger of getting her back trapped to the ropes, but nope, a sudden slip out of the corner frustrates Emily to no end, even as her hooks continue to hit at the air instead of flesh. Instead, Gardner continues to plant leather into her cheek from afar, choosing choice moments where Emily’s still in mid-swing or post, and at her most vulnerable. Rickards heard grunting repeatedly from those lefts and rights shoved into her chest and lips, and if this barrage goes on, we’re not entirely sure who might come out the victor. For now though, Rickards secures another close margin for her earlier, wanton aggression.
ROUND 4: And there goes the wind outta her sails! Emily pushed and pushed till she couldn’t push no more, slow burn forward as Ginny makes up for her lack of enthusiasm with a sudden series of combinations! Gardner scores a first overhand straight that bunches up Rickar’s left cheek, draws a painful grunt from lips with a followup slam into her ribcage, all before the Doll scoots outta harm’s way. Rickards flails back in Ginny’s direction but fails to pin down the taller woman. This hit-and-run dance goes on for another minute or two, before Rickards gets desperate and BARRELS straight into Gardner, disregarding the throbbing pain on her face and body as she tries to pin the taller woman down to the ropes. Gardner’s corner immediately lets out a shout of concern, especially when Emily uses her bulkier frame to hold the Doll in place, plug a left hand straight into her trembling tummy. But Gardner wisely clinches up with arms around the arms, keeping Emily close and defusing the rest of the danger until the bell rings. She’s been in similar situations before, so kudos to the younger blonde for adapting well.
ROUND 5: Rickards moving forward now like she’s completely out of steam, needs to take a breather of a round to recuperate, but unfortunately, gets caught by a sudden combo to the nose, with Ginny filling the gap with speed and aggression. It’s uncharacteristic of the Doll to charge in at her foe, so Ginny circles Emily like a shark after wounded prey, short and snappy smacks to the mouth and nostrils continue to do damage as Rickards gets pushed backwards. The Medallion fighter’s arms are all over the place, trying to protect everything at once, but Gardner calm and focused, targeting any opening she sees as she steps in with a hard SHOVE of a right hand down the middle of Emily’s arms, earning her a loud gurgle as Rickards gets ROCKED to the lips! Ouch!! Rickards stumbles back on her last legs, tries to catch onto the top rope with her hands but misses entirely - she goes CRASHING knees-first to the hard ground, before collapsing onto her side!
It’s a brutal KNOCKDOWN for Ginny Gardner! A victory this early in the fifth has the Doll elated as Ginny throws up her hands and makes a bee-line for her own corner, where Carmen Electra is eager to embrace her once the referee makes his way all the way up to the ten-count! He immediately WAVES for the bell, leaving a distraught Emily whimpering on all fours, her head and torso still draped over the middle rope as she fails to recover in time! It’s all over!!
Official Decision: Ginny Gardner defeats Emily Bett Rickards via KO5!
AFTER: What a comeback for the younger blonde, as Ginny celebrates with a wide, tired smile and plenty of hugs all around the Dollhouse corner. She totally ignores Emily, of course, after those cutting words earlier, now rendered speechless and sputtering in response to the concerns of the medical staff at the far end of the ring.
Gardner puts the brakes on her losing ways tonight, and who knows what her next step up the ladder rung might be. The blonde exits the ring shortly after while Emily’s team are still busy working on their hurt girl in the corner. “I just want to say…” Ginny speaks into a reporter’s mic outside the ring. “Thank you to Carmen for investing and believing in me despite people like Emily.” She chuckles. “Emily’s tough, she hits hard, but she’s just…not very good you know?” The victorious blonde smiles as the fans cheer in response. “Thank you to all my fans for being here and cheering for me. Emily………hold this f*cking L!” Ginny lifts up her right hand, giving a frustrated looking Rickards the middle finger from outside the ring before making her way back to her dressing room accompanied by Carmen Electra.
