The August PPV featured 32 conventional bouts including two title matches. The title fights were in the flyweight and lightweight classes. The bantam and welters took the PPV off. Natalie Portman defended her title with a late 10Th round TKO in a fight of the year candidate. Alexis Ren defended her title in another good fight by KOing Huntington-Whiteley in the ninth

In the welters Decker was absent from the ring for the second straight PPV. Remind me, isn’t there a rule that a champion must defend her title in a certain time period or lose the title? Decker is approaching that limit, if she hasn’t already past it. The PPV didn’t produce any welter wins of title shot importance since LCA has a rule of not fighting a fighter who has had a title match in the last year. Decker can now choose someone not in the top eight which is about the limit of top fighters in this weak division. The welters did have another embarrassment. Hannah Ferguson ranked sixth in one poll and fourth in the other got her head handed to her by Blake Lively, who is ranked at twenty in the lightweights. This is becoming rather frequent in bouts between the two weights. The welters are not doing well

In the lightweights, Kendall Jenner and Taylor Swift won their matches as expected and remain in the title picture. Courtney Tailor was probably eliminated from a title shot, when she suffered a big upset loss to Kylie Jenner who was ranked at eighty-nine The big lightweight fight was between Missy Peregrym and Sophie Turner, which Missy won That was Missy’s 99th fight. It would be great for Missy’s 100th fight to be a title fight, not only would she win the title, but she would enter the Hall Of Fame She already has the win ratio. It would be a crime for Ren to refuse this bout. I would have to check, but I don’t believe a 100th Hall Of Fame fight that was a title fight has happened before

In the bantams, Bella Thorne was relieved of one title which don’t count anyway. Elizabeth Olsen beat Emily Ratajkowski to be the number one contender. That doesn’t mean she will get a title match as Thorne can choose anyone she wants. In the last poll, Olsen was ranked at eleven which can only mean that there are ten ahead of her for a title match. Make that nine since one of the ten was Ratajkowski

In the flyweights, the big bout was between Vanessa Hudgens and Michelle Williams Hudgens took a big step toward another title shot by beating Williams in fourteen rounds. Emma Watson also won and stays a top contender having recently beaten Hudgens. I think Avril Lavigne’s title chances were dealt a severe blow in the loss to Collins who recently lost to Charlotra in a CBAD fight. Along with Hudgens and Watson, Megan Fox, Emma Roberts seem to have a good chance of being chosen
