BLONDE AMBITION AT THE ASYLUM: SEASON OF THE WITCH PPV

Posted by HBO's Boxing At The Asylum on Sep 30, 2020 at 6:41am

BEFORE:

"No," says Sarah with a shake of the head, "I didn't exactly set the world on fire in my debut. But, the nerves and all that are gone now. I can beat this girl. And, I'm GOING to."

"She's not someone to take lightly no matter WHO you are," says Kennedy with a nod. "And, not even a year into my career and coming off a loss? I've got to bring my 'A' game, and that's JUST what I'll do."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'Walking In LA' by Missing Persons, and here comes blonde beauty Sarah Wright!"

McCarthy: "And, HERE'S a shocker...she has NO FCBA wins!"

Tess: "In her defense, she only has ONE FCBA fight..."

McCarthy: "And, as I've pointed out before, I had FCBA wins BEFORE I had FCBA fights!"

Cassie: "And, as I'VE pointed out before, you are a lunatic."

McCarthy: "You LITTLE..."

O'Dell: "Now, calm down, Mac, and let's concentrate on the ring, where Sarah is stepping in to be helped off with the robe. And, she's looking VERY good in that baby blue number we saw the last time she was here..."

Oh the shark, babe

Has such teeth, dear

McCarthy: "I'll SUE! I'll SUE! He STOLE MY SONG!"

Cassie: "For those in the audience who've been under a rock for the last several years, no one STOLE Mac's song. Uncle Wiz BOUGHT the rights to the Bobby Darin version of 'Mack The Knife' and, again, Mac is a LUNATIC!"

McCarthy: "SHUT UP, YOU LITTLE...SIRI, CALL MY LAWYER!"

O'Dell (sighing): "McMann into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve, and the crowd loving the way she looks in that lavender number we've seen before. Ladies about ready. Time for some picks. Tess likes Kennedy. Mac?"

McCarthy: "VOICEMAIL! YOU'RE FIRED, YOU HACK!"

O'Dell: "MAC!"

McCarthy: "She's a FRAUD! WRIGHT!"

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "First split panel of the night, and Wright getting to work making Mac's pick look good. McMann wants to set up at range and box, but Sarah having none of it, stepping to Kennedy and backing the younger woman up with flurries of heavy shot. No hesitation from right this time out..."

McCarthy: "Got that first FCBA fight under her belt. Fewer butterflies this time...plus, she's fighting a FRAUD!"

O'Dell: "Sarah in COMMAND right now, backing up McMann over and over again. Redhead can't get her feet set or stabilize her front. Instead, the blonde is in command, putting punches together very, very well, scoring with loads of heavy shot. Kennedy completely on the defensive now..."

Cassie: "McMann needs to get in gear here..."

O'Dell: "Definitely does, but it doesn't look like that's going to be happening in the first. We're down to about ten seconds, and Wright's had it almost all her way. GOOD exchange there, with both fighters landing and that was Kennedy's best punch of the round. There's the bell. No doubt. Wright. Wide."

Tess: "And up 10-9."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Second begins with more pressure from Sarah, but now the redhead banging back. McMann determined to hold her canvas, and Wright not going to force the issue. Instead, ladies get to gunnery range and get their respective boxes on, and both showing some nice skills in doing so..."

McCarthy: "Mistake on Wright's part! Keep the pressure ON this fraud!"

O'Dell: "Instead, we've gone from physical to tactical, with the ladies working the feet, angling, slipping punches, using the jab to set up right hands. It's good, slick stuff from both fighters despite the relative lack of experience they both have in FCBA rings..."

Tess: "McMann has a nice, heavy jab."

O'Dell: "Sure does, and it's playing very, very well right now. There's not a lot in it in the second, but it's Kennedy who has the edge as we come into the final seconds. NICE right hand from the blonde and a GOOD right hand in response from the redhead and there's the bell. Close. Kennedy."

Cassie: "And, we are even at 19."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Into the third and Wright pushing the issue. She's coming forward behind the jab, looking to back up the redhead. McMann holding canvas and firing back and we are HAMMER AND TONGS in there and DOWN GOES THE REDHEAD! What a right hand by Wright and McMann is on her back!"

McCarthy: "I TOLD you! Go AFTER that fraud!"

O'Dell: "Wright to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. Kennedy sits up at six. Seven. Eight. To her feet at nine. Ref going to give the redhead the mandatory and waive on Sarah! And Wright letting the hands go in a big way, backing up McMann, forcing her into the ropes..."

Cassie: "Kennedy just trying to ride this out, Jenny..."

O'Dell: "She is, indeed. She's pinned on the ropes and taking. Jabbing back here and there, trying to keep the ref from stepping in. He's looking closely as Wright lands a solid left hook. Five seconds to go. Kennedy going to make it to the bell. There it is. But, a HUGE 10-8 round for Sarah Wright!"

Tess: "And, she's jumped into a 29-27 lead after three."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Wright taking the fight to McMann in a big way. Kennedy clearly still buzzed, doesn't have the legs under her, and Sarah taking full advantage right now. Blonde no doubt looking to finish, and it's all Kennedy can do at the moment to prevent her from getting that done..."

McCarthy: "This FRAUD lost to Benoist last time. You know how Weirdo is. When Wright knocks her out, her locker will be cleared out before she gets back to Front Street!"

O'Dell: "McMann pinned to the cables. Wright winging away. Kennedy leaning back in the ropes, rolling with, blocking some of the heavy fire, but there's plenty landing and the referee is, again, watching very closely. Redhead tying up the blonde now and the ref going to break them..."

Tess: "McMann getting off the ropes..."

O'Dell: "But getting backed right back into them by a blizzard of fire from Sarah. Wright trying to find the finisher right now, but can't do it. Kennedy not doing much, but it's JUST enough to keep the referee from stopping the thing. Final seconds tick off and there's the bell. Shutout Wright."

Cassie: "And, Sarah's got a nice 39-36 lead."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Wright after McMann again, but Kennedy holding canvas now. Legs are back under the redhead and she's tired of the retreat. And, we're going to settle back into ranged boxing now. Wright again not pushing the issue, and this time it may have less to do with tactics than with arm fatigue..."

Cassie: "Just what I'm thinking. She's burned up a ton of energy in those last two rounds, so a little breather now won't hurt."

O'Dell: "Pace has definitely slowed, and, again, it's Kennedy who's having somewhat the better of things when we're on these terms. She's not dominating, far from it, but she's getting a little more done than Sarah, and that's going to play when we get to the cards at the end of the round."

McCarthy: "The cards aren't going to matter. All Wright needs is to catch her breath. Then she can finish this FRAUD!"

O'Dell: "Down the stretch in the fifth. That heavy jab of McMann's working pretty well right now. She's landing solid rights off it. Wright putting punches together as well, proving she can definitely do this whole boxing thing. Five seconds to go. One more exchange and there's the bell. Close. McMann."

Tess: "But, Sarah still up a pair, 48-46, at the half."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Wright back to the offensive as we start the sixth. She's stepping to McMann yet again, but, again, Kennedy determined to hold canvas, banging right back, and they are trading some seriously sharp shots and THERE'S A RIGHT HAND, MCMANN AND SARAH IS HURT!"

Tess: "Timed that one, Jenny!"

O'Dell: "No doubt about it, and Wright is all wobbly butt as Kennedy begins making with the heavy leather, backing up the blonde, punishing her to both head and body. Wright tying up. McMann shoves off, lands a SOLID right to the head and Sarah nearly goes down!"

Cassie: "Ref on high alert right now..."

O'Dell: "Wright backed to the ropes and taking. McMann trying to finish this thing, but Sarah hanging on desperately, guard high, rolling with punches, jabbing back here and there. Just seconds to go. GOOD right, Kennedy and that shook Sarah, but there's the bell! Wright survives, but McMann takes it wide."

McCarthy: "But, the FRAUD is still down 57-56!"

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "It's Kennedy on the offensive as the seventh begins. Redhead has taken control after the big sixth round, and she's backing up a still-shaky blonde with some hard flurries to the head. Wright keeping the guard high, backing up, playing defense, trying to ride this out..."

McCarthy: "She'll be fine. The FRAUD landed a lucky punch is all!"

O'Dell: "McMann landing a LOT of punches right now. She's got the range down and she's calling in artillery strike after artillery strike on the blonde. Sarah again throwing here and there, but mostly just playing defense and GOING DOWN AFTER A BOOMING RIGHT HAND!"

Cassie: "That will do it..."

O'Dell: "Wright crashing to her back and bouncing once before coming to rest. Kennedy to a neutral corner. Ref's count at three. Four. Five..."

McCarthy: "GET UP! GET UP!"

O'Dell: "No movement at all from Wright. Seven. Eight. Nine. TEN! It's OVER! And your winner by KO7..."

McCarthy: "Don't SAY it!"

Tess: "Kennedy 'Mack The Knife' McMann!"

McCarthy: "SHUT UP, WALMART!"

O'Dell: "And, feel free to drink up, boys!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Kennedy McMann, and Kennedy, not a good start tonight..."

Kennedy (shaking her head): "She definitely came out blazing and she caught me a couple of good ones. Like I said, she was no one to take lightly. She can fight."

Tess: "But, in the end, you were the one who got the result..."

Kennedy: "Well, like Wiz says, it's not how you start, but how you FINISH. And, I finished pretty strong. Oh, and, when you get back to the table, you tell your friend down there that if she wants to put her money where her big mouth is, I'm not doing anything Hallowe'en night."
