BEFORE:

Battle of the WAGs in the Lioness COVID Relief finale as Merseyside's Alex Curran wants to knock the rust off Melissa Satta in spectacular fashion. It's been a while since the blonde model won a fight but the hard-punching US-Italian has taken an extended break from action following her disappointing 2-3 performance in the welterweight contenders tournament last year so there's every chance Curran has caught her just at the right time!

Alex Curran wears a red crop top with white trim, matching hotpants & red gloves. Long blonde hair tied in a loose bun at the back of her head. Melissa Satta wears a navy blue bikini set & silver gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a high ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the welterweight division.

Round 1:
Alex comes in hot and throws her punches around to keep Melissa honest; she lands a couple of nasty hooks straight up the middle that seemingly do the trick but then Satta abandons the stand-by mode and responds over the top in equally impressive fashion. Both models turn on the heat quickly but it's Melissa who finds her range better and rocks the blonde's head before driving one low shot right above the waist line. Ugh! This single punch makes Alex scowl in pain and she quickly yields real estate thereafter as Satta tracks her down with more looping menace. Curran struggles to swing back and eats more single punches straight up the chimney which leaves her hugging the ropes come the final minute. She nails her rival across the nose once but eats a triple response and bellows out on top of the ropes as the US-Italian bangs one on her bobbs to close out the round.

Round 2:
Alex engages in another trigger-happy dispute but bounces off the forearms too often to make a difference and gets caught out on the turn as Melissa finds her spots and begins to stack up leather in the blonde's face. Alex gets wobbled to her heels but refuses to back off as she works the single jab only for Satta to punish her downstairs again and back her onto the ropes come the half-way mark. The proud Scouser plugs her response in the brunette's midsection but lacks the big punch or maybe Satta's rust in nowhere to be found after all; both models accidentally clash heads moments later which only fuels Melissa's flurry of jabs that splits the blonde's high guard before another booming hooks bends Alex sideways right at the bell.

Round 3:
The Merseyside model remains as aggressive as possible and stings the US-Italian with more jabbing power alas she loses her balance in jug-to-jug contact and slumps on her heels when Melissa nails her with a proper shot on the temple. Another right-on-right double tags the nose and sends Curran reeling with Satta knocking her back onto the turnbuckle in a hurry. Both women trade blows in the phone booth before Melissa steps back, lets a left hook slip by and CRUSHES the Scouser with a brutal hook on the nose. Uh-oh!!! DOWN GOES CURRAN!!! There's some blood dripping from her nostrils and that was a proper power punch that send her down for the count indeed. She gets up at seven but has Melissa mocking her from the opposite corner and the slugging response that follows only plays into the younger woman's hands as Satta blows past the Mersey high guard and roughs up the blonde's face as she remains trapped in the corner. Alex throws her punches almost by chance as Melissa is keen to knock her head off but runs out of time and has to be pulled away by the referee come the bell with Alex leaking more blood from her nostrils and barely able to walk back straight to her corner!

Round 4:
Melissa jumps into a high-octane jabbing pursuit and Alex just doesn't have the moves to stay clear of the swarming reality. She wobbles to her heels and begins to leak blood from the wounded nostrils again as the brunette connects with some vicious punches. Curran slumps forward after bouncing off the top of Satta's shoulder and eats one uppercut on the chin too many before the younger model SMOKES her with another cross hook on the nose!!! ALEX'S KNEES GIVE WAY and she collapses into a heap almost taking down the referee with her! Melissa struts back to her corner and can hardly hide her joy when Alex mumbles her way into another painful defeat! KO4 Melissa Satta!!!

AFTER:

Melissa remains as impressive slugger as they come and BBU TV's Denise van Outen doubles down on her poor Contenders Six performance last spring that ought to have ended a lot better. That's water under the bridge now however the Boston-born model still twerks her mounds - all for COVID Relief remember - and sends the Lioness Club a lenghty verbal tirade in her part-native Italian. She's joined by Federica Nargi soon afterwards and the two Italian WAGs have truly rocked the KO Club tonight so they very much deserve a bottle of wine - or maybe two - for showcasing their talents. 

Denise van Outen wants to get up close & personal with them ("See ya at the bar") while in the meantime the Lioness hosts have been left with more questions to answer as Alex Curran simply looks to be way past her prime now and on the verge of being used as veteran go-to-girl for blood-thirsty upstarts. The COVID Relief has concluded with a shocking 0-6 result for the Lionesses and it's no excuse the likes of Dorota Rabczewska, Karolina Kurkova or Ewelina Lisowska sat this double-header out.
