Intro:
The opening bout tonight in the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane sees Isabeli Fontana fight Alexina Graham in a clash of rookie fighters, both looking to take their best foot forwards in their career.

Isabeli is 36 years old; she stands 5'9 ½, her record stands at no wins, with 1 defeat coming by way of knockout, that was against Petra Nemcova.

Alexina is 29 years old; she stands 5'11 ½, her record stands at 1 win, that coming by knockout, with no defeats, her win came against Abbey Crouch.

Gold and Green magazines Sarah Cummings is given the job to interview both fighters, getting a word from them as they walk into the stadium.

First up is the Brazilian stunner Isabeli, who is wearing a yellow dresses with matching heels and sunglasses on, with her coach carrying her bags behind her.

Isabeli stops and lowers her glasses as she stares at Sarah, who asks her how she is feeling going into this fight, making Isabeli smirk as she replies "do I look worried at all?"

Taking her glasses off; Isabeli tells the interviewer "I know people think because I lost to Petra that I somehow should be worried fighting someone getting touted as a future champion, all I see is a ginger bytch when I see Alexina"

Sarah asks her what makes her so confident then? Which Isabeli answers "because I am better then my debut made me look, I got caught out by Petra's power, Alexina isn't a powerhouse by any stretch, I am going to bully her when I see an opening, I hope she enjoys sucking the canvas" grinning as the glasses go back on and she leaves.

Then Alexina steps into the stadium with her gym back on her shoulder, coach crying their own bag as they both look in a good mood chatting away.

Alexina stops and says hi to Sarah, who looks happier seeing her to her opponent tonight, with Sarah asking how the English lass feels.

"Well as I said when I joined the BBU, I want to travel the world and fight the best, I have wanted to see Australia for a while so this is a dream come true" says Alexina with a real excitement behind her words.

Her coach jumps in to say "it's been a great camp for her, she really has knuckled down in the gym and her drive has me believing in her that you are seeing someone with buckets of potential"

Smiling before she replies, Alexina says "he is a sweetheart right? I have wanted to be in the BBU for a while, when I made my debut he helped me so much, tonight I'll win for him as much as myself" they head off after shaking Sarah's hand.

Fighting time; out comes Isabeli strutting down the aisle with a cocky grin, she is wearing her national colours, a yellow sports bra with green trim, matching trunks and shoes, yellow gloves, while her brunette hair is in a ponytail.

Getting into the ring; Isabeli poses at the center of the ring with her arms in the air, pivoting on her right foot so every side of the crowd can see her, then heads off to her corner to begin her warm up.

Alexina is led out by her coach, she yells "come on!" Getting the crowd behind her as she walks down the aisle, wearing a white sports bra, white trunks with red flames around the bottom of the legs, white shoes, red gloves and her red hair is braided.

She steps into the ring with a big smile, blowing kisses to the fans as she jogs over to her corner, once there though her demeanor changes as she listens to her coach.

The referee signals for the fighters to come to the center of the ring, both staring intensely into the others eyes, neither blinking as they try to get into their rivals head.

Told to touch gloves; they tap their gloves together, then turn back to their corners, once back their the bell is rung to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.

Round 1:
They both start off behind their jab, testing the others defences out as they parry shots before firing back their own punches.

Neither seems to want to make a mistake early on, Alexina getting slightly the better of the action due to her footwork allowing her to dart in with punches, then move back out of danger.

As we pass the half way mark of the round, Alexina gets clipped to her jaw coming in with a left cross, the Brazilian stepping in with a straight to knock back her head.

That seems to have spurred on Fontana, who is throwing more on the inside, forcing Alexina to start trading with her, Isabeli though wins the exchanges by dipping down and firing to the body of the redhead.

Driving Alexina around the outside of the ring in the final moments of the round, the bell rings to end the round with Isabeli getting a nod from her coach, Alexina being told to be more confident and go for it.

Round 2:
Coming back out their corners, they are throwing more shots now, with Alexina stepping to the left out the way of a straight, landing a double jab under the eye of Isabeli instead.

Back comes Isabeli though with two body shots, just missing with an overhand right as her opponent leans out the way, Graham then retreats back into space.

Isabeli is wanting to push the action it seems, problem for her is Alexina looks to have the better footwork and faster hands, leading to Isabeli taking shots to each cheek.

Growing in confidence it seems, Alexina steps in with a left/right straight, followed by an uppercut to knock back her opponent to the outside of the ring.

When Alexina tries to press forwards though, Isabeli lands a straight onto her mouth, a left hook crashes across her face to make the redhead retreat back.

The final thirty seconds of the round sees the fighters go toe to toe, cheers ringing out around the stadium as heads are turned in the heated exchange.

The round comes to a close with Isabeli tapping her cheeks and telling Alexina "need more firepower to take me down you ginger bytch" making Alexina scowl at her.

Round 3:
Back out they come, trading more closer as Isabeli looks to keep the distance where she wants it, Alexina though again sidesteps her before countering with a right across the brunette's face.

Bouncing up on her toes side to side; Alexina seems to have her rhythm, smacking Isabeli around a leaky guard to her cheeks and worse for the Brazilian under her right eye.

Isabeli though shows her toughness, slipping a straight to bang in a right to the body, an overhand left lands to the side of Alexina's head to knock sweat from it.

As Alexina backs up; Isabeli quickly steps inside, using her left to shove Alexina towards the ropes, Fontana forces a hard exchange of punches, Graham trying to fight off the ropes but failing as she can't load up on her punches.

A more experienced fighter would clinch up, Alexina though sticks behind her gloves when she goes defensive, blocking most punches to her face, Isabeli though is landing some nice body shots to make the English lass groan out.

At the bell Isabeli raises her right fist into the air as she has swagger to her step, her coach chatting to her about what she needs to do to cut off the ring.

Round 4:
Back out they come, trading stiffer punches as they find gaps in the others defences, Isabeli ducks down and uses her left shoulder to bump back her opponent.

Then she swings up top to the cheeks of Alexina, knocking back the Brit to the delight of her fans, with Alexina's cheeks starting to redden up under the punches.

Needing to pull Isabeli into a clinch when she takes a straight to the mouth, Alexina grits her gumshield in frustration over having a tougher time then her corner and her thought they'd have.

After being split up Isabeli keeps on the front foot, drilling some nice punches up the middle to knock back the head of her opponent, while taking the center of the ring for herself.

Though late in the round as Fontana looks to land some harder punches in, Graham is able to lean out the way of a right hook, countering with a left under that eye again.

When the round ends Isabeli rubs her eye, a mouse is forming under it and her corner team is working on reducing the swelling.

Across the ring Alexina is being told to box smarter, she is letting Isabeli control the action too easily for their liking, getting a nod from the redhead.

Round 5:
Boxing more off the back foot, Alexina is counter punching more often now, Isabeli yelling at her to come and fight her like a real woman gets a cheer from Fontana's supporters.

It doesn't change the mind of Alexina though, who takes some shots to her abs, she is mostly controlling the range of the fight now and landing some beautiful punches in reply.

One left hook opens a cut under the right eye of Isabeli, who cries out and steps back looking a little more worried, her corner urging her to keep pushing onwards though.

The cut though seems to have taken some steam out of Isabeli, she is getting hit more freely as her work rate goes right down, blood is trickling down her right side of her face to her chin.

Ducking under a right hook; Alexina lights up her opponent with a overhand left/right hook combo, sending Isabeli back into a corner as Alexina comes firing in with lefts and rights.

The round comes to a close with Isabeli wiping her cheek with her glove, her corner working hard on patching it up as Isabeli is wincing.

In the Graham corner, they look more happier but want to make it clear to their fighter to keep the pressure of Isabeli, don't let her off the hook now they have her hurt.

Round 6:
Isabeli has her right glove protecting that cut more, Alexina instead keeps to the left, where she is slipping jabs and left hooks to open up Isabeli for big counter rights.

An uppercut smashes through the guard of Isabeli, whose head snaps back as she heads back to the ropes, ALEXINA FOLLOWS UP WITH A LEFT/RIGHT HOOK COMBO ON THE BUTTON TO SEND ISABELI DOWN THE ROPES TO HER BACKSIDE!

Alexina doesn't celebrate just yet, jogging quickly over to the neutral corner, 1...2...3...4... Isabeli looks up to the referee, then to her corner with a glassy eyed look, 5...6...7.. Moving to all fours, blood runs from the cut to the canvas, 8...9...10 Isabeli is countered out!

Winner Alexina Graham KO Round 6

After:
While she had some problems; Alexina moves to two and zero in her career with a nasty looking knockout, one she celebrates by jumping up and down in the air with her arms up.

Across the ring Isabeli is checked on by her coach, they help her up and over to her stool, working to patch up the cut that seemed to take some of the fighting spirit of Fontana.

Returning to her own corner, Alexina admits "I don't think I'll ever not enjoy the buzz of knocking someone out" her coach grins and nods in reply, with Alexina's gloves stained in the blood of her opponent.

Both women are cleaned up and head to the center of the ring, Isabeli is shaking her head as Alexina gets her hand raised by the referee, clearly believing the cut changed the fight dramatically as she had control over it.

Leaving the ring with her coach, Isabeli asks them what she needs to improve upon, with Isabeli looking like she wants to smash something in her dressing room judging by her expression.

An expression that's a far cry from Alexina's inside the ring, the winner blows kisses to the cameras that are taking photos of her, a big smile etched onto her face.

Alexina then steps out the ring with her coach, who tells her that she needs to not be afraid to push the pace in the first round, Alexina nods in agreement as they talk all the way to the back
