BEFORE: Has Alex Curran reached the point she serves as the proverbial spring board for aspiring welterweight elite contenders? She's only two years older than her tonight's opponent Alina Vacariu but the wear & tear on the Merseyside model tells a different story according to BBU TV's Denise van Outen. "Lioness Club didn't sign Romee Strijd for nothing! That's the real 130+ lbs future for the Barnet gang! Alex will sell plenty of tickets but her contender days are pretty much over! She might beat up girls like Michelle Marsh or Daisy Lowe and I'm shocked Mr. V & Mel B. invited this tricky Romanian here instead!"

Lioness Club has a score to settle with those Romanians though as Alexandra Stan upset Dorota Rabczewska on the January PPV. Alex claims she can "knock this vile bytch out!" but it remains to be seen whether she can still walk the walk coming off four straight defeats!

Alex Curran wears a red bikini set & white gloves. Long blonde hair tied in a high ponytail. Alina Vacariu wears a light blue bikini set & yellow gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a braid. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the welterweight division.

Round 1:
Both women refuse to engage in a high-flying offense and settle into a single punching drill for majority of the opening round but Alex begins to show more aggression down the stretch even though her head-hunting tactics are too predictable for the Romanian. Alina shows some nifty footwork to avoid most of the blonde's efforts but Alex pushes on with her aerial swings, she tracks Alina down across the canvas but fails to trap her along the ropes and eats a nasty cross hooking response when the younger model finally makes her move after the two-minute mark. Alina's scattered response offers more precision and glues the Mersey model onto the spot but there's no genuine power supply here which prevents Vacariu from stealing the round on hostile territory.

Round 2:
Alex shows more aggression from the onset but bounces off the brunette's high guard too often to make a difference and gets sucked into a jabbing vacuum with Alina ripping clean shots on target. Curran's head snaps back repeatedly and she gets belted with a proper harpoon switch as Alina piles on more leather in the phone booth and shuts the older model down along the ropes. Alex couldn't recover in time and she struggles to stretch her elbows as the Romanian works the body assault with ease and cripples her into a clinching stalemate come the second minute. Alex fails to escape the precarious position when the fight is resumed and eats a cross hooking double on the chin which sets Vacariu up for a proper overhand blast that bellows the Mersey lass behind a tight earmuff however Alina just picks her off to widen the gap; she belts her across the boobs right at the bell and the Barnet audience can't stop jeering the tourist as she aims some obscene gestures during the interval.

Round 3:
Curran tries to inject some pace into her actions but she gets outworked in close range and Alina just nails her on the chin with an uppercut drive that wobbles the blonde onto her heels; a wild swing goes nowhere and Alina turns it up on the counter to SLAM a right hook on the mouth. Ugh! Alex trips back to her hees again and just can't deke into safety as Vacariu flies in with a brutal overhand that tears a bloody patch across the nasal ridge. Alex slumps on the ropes with a whimper and gets pounced on like a wounded prey as she refuses to engage in a looming slugfest. Alina takes advantage of the blonde's ailing resistance and cleans her downstairs ripping brutal harpoons into the otherwise toned midriff which leaves Curran in all sorts of yelping bother come the bell.

Round 4:
Alina rattles the blonde with a quick uppercut charge and digs into her chin that simply slumps the Mersey lass into more spasms before a wicked left hook on the eye shuts Alex down wholesale. She tries to swing back over the top but finds nothing except thin air and Vacariu SMOKES her with a vicious uppercut on the jaw a split second later. DOWN GOES CURRAN!!! Epic chin shot ragdolls the blonde face-down at the brunette's feet and it's a big one here, folks! Alex is clearly rattled by the monster jam and only gets up onto all fours when the count reaches eight... there's just no way she can recover from this knockdown in time and the KO Club has been silenced by yet another Romanian upset of the Lioness faithful! KO4 Alina Vacariu!!!

AFTER: Denise van Outen claims the Lionesses would be better off sending Romee Strijd into Alina's path as Alex's punching resistance appears to be wilting. She got smashed around in disappointing fashion which suggests her best days are probably gone in the rear view mirror. Obviously any proud Merseyside lass would be the last to admit she's lost her mojo but Alex is still shocked over the knockdown so she doesn't argue her case when Alina's arm is raised in the air. The Romanian babe taunts Mel B. in the Lioness corner and wants a piece of Sophie Howard next but it remains to be seen if the hard-hitting brunette actually upgrades her attention going forward. Howard is a supreme JMDD talent but not exactly a proper upgrade over Alex Curran according to most pundits!
