Inna vs Perrie Edwards

BEFORE: We kick off the International Cup action with two girls in desperate need of success! Inna's punchout of Frankie Bridge almost twelve months ago remains her only win from the last seven fights while Perrie Edwards simply needs to build upon a highlight knockout of US veteran Fergie if she's to be taken seriously by her peers. Perrie hasn't really shaken off that "soft blonde" image even though she's actually not the worst member of the Little Mix bunch results-wise. However it seems like there's not enough exposure behind Jade Thirlwall's FCBA crossover campaign and Perrie needs a big win to emerge as a solid gatekeeper outside of her Tyne & Wear backyard.

Inna wears a white bikini set and red gloves. Long black hair tied in a high ponytail. Perrie Edwards wears a pink bikini set and white gloves. Long blonde hair tied in a high curled ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.

Round 1:
Inna thinks she can bulldoze the allegedly soft blonde with a classic flyweight bash straight away but Perrie channels some inner wrath early on and outworks the brunette in a rapid-fire tangle in the center of the ring. Both girls go at each other hammer & tongs and Inna's the one who blinks first when she gets whacked with a cross hook on the mouth that wobbles her backwards. She tries to push off her heels but Perrie gets there first and nails her on the jaw before adding another hook on the ear. Ugh! Inna trips back to the ropes and soaks up more leather abuse from the blonde. Perrie barks in her efforts to knock the fellow singer down but she's never impressed the boxing world with some raw power and Inna escapes the heated exchange with blatant clinching that cools Perrie's aggression for good. Still, that was a very solid opener from the Little Mix member and she's visibly upbeat while talking to Frankie's Foxes supervisor Kelly Rowland during the break.

Round 2:
Perrie tries to slam more clean hooks up the middle but Inna improves her footwork and fends off the aerial strikes before cashing in low to stun the Geordie lass with relentless drilling to the body. Ugh! Edwards has the wind knocked right out of her sails and while she tries to respond over the top, the Romanian foe nails her with a vicious overhand herself and drops back to the ropes. Perrie's chin took a big shot right there and when she finds her rhythm back, Inna gives her a mouthful of leather which makes Kelly Rowland very upset in the Foxes corner. However Inna's into overdrive mode and almost punches the subdued blonde through the ropes and onto the judges tables! Perrie groans through this beating but somehow stays upright and that must ba called a success alone according to Denise van Outen in the booth.

Round 3:
Kelly Rowland tries to spark the blonde into more offense but perhaps even the "Why aye man!" shout won't make it past the Inna test since the Romanian splits the Geordie mitts early in the third and resumes the head-hunting prowl. Edwards tries to slug it out in style but it's never been her forte and she gets pummelled back to the ropes with the older singer gaining more steam as seconds tick away on the clock. It's all about Inna now and she appears to be well aware of it... she fakes another high drive but then belts the retreating blonde to the body and traps her along the ropes where she methodically works the blonde's guts over. Ugh! Edwards can only clinch the charging rival in response and maybe Kelly Rowland needs additional coaching help to get her fighter out of a hole here? And yes, Leigh-Anne Pinnock is coming over from the stands to take over the supervisor duty in Perrie's corner.

Round 4:
Inna laughs off the collective coaching effort in the blonde's corner but she finally meets a stubborn Geordie guard early in the fourth and gets picked off over the top in response which allows Edwards to settle in against the run. Inna bounces off the forearms and gets wrapped in phone booth-like encounter next with Perrie seeking some success downstairs herself. She bends the brunette to the side with a piercing harpoon and thumps her up the middle thereafter. Inna stumbles to her heels but wants to push off in immediate recovery only to find a nasty right hook blasting her on the nose and that's a big one for all ye fans up north! This isn't exactly Marnie Simpson at work but a steady jabbing rush traps the Romanian behind a tight earmuff and Perrie can let it rip again... if only she had more juice in her mitts! She just can't make the most out of her dominant position and gets dragged into a wrestling clinch during the final twenty odd seconds of the round.

Round 5:
Apparently Inna can take a lot more punishment than US cougar Fergie but Perrie refuses to take her foot off the gas pedal even though she risks getting caught on the response. The Hamburg audience gets behind these two flyweight hellcats as they trade more vicious leather when Inna finds the breakthrough and busts into the blonde's nose leaving her slumped on her heels. Ugh! Perrie tries to hold off the jabbing wolfpack but the Romanian gets there anyway and rips more clean shots on the nose that begins to leak blood when Edwards gets bumped into the ropes. Ugh! The nasal injury only fuels Inna's work rate and she rocks Perrie's head back & forth until the aching Geordie slumps into a crushing uppercut on the jaw!!! AND DOWN SHE GOES!!! Disaster for the Little Mix faithful as Perrie heads for the exit door with her nose busted into a bloody mess on top of all that Romanian jam... she tries to get up but then cries out in pain and remains sitting on the canvas until it's too late to make a recovery... She's up at nine and a half but the ref waves it off and signals for the medics to attend to the wounded singer. KO5 Inna!!!

AFTER: Leigh-Anne Pinnock is downright furious with this outcome and jumps into the ring to tackle the victorious brunette before she can dwell on the rampant ovation from the Hamburg audience! Rugby isn't the most popular sport in Romania so the tackle usually seen at Twickenham catches the raven-haired singer by surprise and the loud thump you hear is Inna's backside crashing into the canvas! Kelly Rowland helps the medics with Perrie's busted nose but everyone soon begins to cheer the two other girls rolling around on the boards. They run out of room and exit stage left crashing on top of the judges' tables where Inna gets a bit fortunate and pins Leigh-Anne down with her body weight. This threatens to spiral out of control like WWE Raw Main Event but the security crew quickly drags the Romanian singer off her prey and prevents the really ugly scenes. Ugh! Pinnock holds her back after that hard landing and stumbles to her knees while Inna makes repeated gestures at the crowd before finally getting escorted backstage... This is a full-blown disaster for the English tourists now and the fact Perrie Edwards escaped this encounter without a broken nose seems like the only positive to take back home. Guess Marnie Simpson and Chantelle Connelly used all the Geordie luck on the Jewels PPV earlier this month?
