Emma Watson vs Natalie Portman

Results: Lookout!; Story: Caspian

Emma:
(30, 5’6, 37:23 FCBA, VIXENs)
Natalie:
(39, 5’3, 87:51:2 HISC)

BEFORE:
"f*ck, this is nostalgic," Emma says with a smile. "It appears I've made it my mission to take down members of my former stable. I've beaten Mila, fought Kristin, and I'll put Natty away tonight as well. I remember all too well my stay at the Consortium - no one wanted me back then and I could bloody well sense it every time we were backstage. No hard feelings now though. I'm treating Natalie like any other opponent to beat."

"Tsk. It's that attitude that got you released, dearie," Portman replies from across the press table. "I'm glad to see Watson flourishing in her new environment. She may have turned herself around, beaten Mila and so on, but there's a reason why she lost our last fight in the ring. The truth of the matter is, honey, you were never good enough to stick around for long."

Blood boiling on both sides as former stablemates meet in the center of the stage, Emma's slight three-inch height advantage not helping her the last time these two fought, with Portman still looking lean and mean even though she's a good ten years older. Ladies pose with their fists raised to each other’s chins as the cameras flash and capture this rare moment of top Hollywood actresses about to throw down.

24 hours later, Emma's first to the ring, smiling and waving casually to the roar of the stadium as she climbs through the ropes with renewed confidence in herself. The Vixen's wearing a simple white singlet that's cut-off at the midriff, hot denim shorts for bottoms as she straps on red gloves in her corner. Her opponent is equally focused as she walks down the ramp, Portman with a hand raised high as she steps forward in a black sports bra, black MMA shorts, her dirty blonde hair braided out back. She's wearing blue gloves for this contest.

Referee does a final check that both girls are ready, and with a mutual nod, he waves for the bell. HERE we go with ten rounds of Flyweight action!

ROUND 1:
Emma does well in the opening round, scores an early shot to Natalie’s face which successfully disorientates her opponent for the rest of the three minutes, that glancing blow to her mouth must have stung enough to make her keep her distance, as Portman underestimates her ex-stablemate at her own peril. Emma-fans of course ecstatic at this early success, with Watson coming forward more confidently as she headhunts with more left and rights shot towards Portman’s arms and chest, hoping to score the early upset. Former Flyweight champ manages the pressure well, however, taken for a ride around the ring but never in danger of anything but losing ground in this opening round. However, Watson sets the tone for the remainder of this fight, heading back to corner with a smile once the bell rings.

ROUND 2:
Portman has other ideas, however, hoping to score her second win over an everlasting thorn in her side and finally put to bed those rumours of who’s the better fighter. She handles Emma’s attacks well enough in the first minute, moving backwards but in a deliberate fashion, luring Watson into a false attack pattern, only to score back with precise blows to the actress’ face. Emma eats one, two of these sudden right hands that sail in outta nowhere, grunting as she’s too slow to cover up in time, taking damage to her confidence as her own punches fail to make headway. Third minute and both ladies exchange more brutal flurries bunching into the chin or straight jammed into nostrils, drawing sharp gasps from both sides as Emma fails to extend her lead overall.

ROUND 3:
Another two-sided brawl as both ladies get their hands on each other at almost the same time, Nat and Emma meeting in the middle of the ring and firing off the first combos simultaneously, hitting each other square on the face in mutually assured destruction. Heads getting pushed back, eyes squinting in pain and groans elicited from lips as the two rivals break each other down with impunity, Emma breaking the monotony in the second minute with a sudden right hook to the side of Natalie’s head, which throws Portman to the side with a yelp. Portman not to be outdone, however, down the stretch also packing a hook of her own into pale tummy, then another upwards swing almost catching Watson on her jaw if not for her blocking arms. This round’s pretty much a draw by the time the bell rings, with both girls having taken significant punishment.

ROUND 4:
AND DOWN EMMA GOES!! A minute-two KNOCKDOWN as Portman scores first blood in this action-packed fight! Emma had come forward with initial confidence, jab-jab-jabbing at her opponent’s arms, looking for an opening, with Portman playing along initially, feigning retreat and then letting loose a sudden right cross down the middle and honing in on Emma’s face - UGH! Emma left seeing stars, and it all went downhill from there - the Brit took more blows to her face before she got knocked off balance by another glancing hook sent across her chin! Portman makes a statement tonight, shows she’s still capable of destructive power as she puts the Harry Potter starlet down within 10 minutes of this fight!

Emma left groaning on all fours, slowly crawling to the ropes and then lifting herself back up by the count of 8. Little else expected from these two top-tiered competitors as the referee resumes the round and Natalie already soaring inwards to clean up. Emma holds on to her marbles, however, her back skirting the ropes as she covers up and grunts from repeated shots to her body and arms, holds off her comeback till the following round as Natalie returns to her corner in celebration.

ROUND 5:
Here comes Nat, brimming with confidence after her last round’s performance. The HISC starlet is arguably the last one standing of the greats of the greats, the rest of her stable slowly getting whittled down to a skeleton crew as both Kristin Kreuk and Mila Kunis all having made their exits. Portman still with her eyes on the prize, however, hounding Emma to the head with more straight hands, lefts and rights pounding at the door, hoping to break the younger woman here and now. Watson, however, handles the pressure like a pro, pays Portman back with a stingin’ jab to the nose, which stuns the former champ on the spot. Watson shows aggression that’s uncharacteristic of her nice-girl demeanour, POUNDS away on Nat as she shows her former stablemate who’s boss!! Natalie’s eating shots to her face left and right, growls with frustration as much as pain as she struggles to stop Emma’s rapid advance. Thankfully, the bell rings soon after, leaving Nat battered and breathing hard on the ropes. What a shutout performance from the Vixen, who clearly wants the win!

ROUND 6:
More bad news for Nat as the tide turns against her, and she spends the first minute covering up from another blitz attack from Emma. It’s Watson’s turn in the spotlight and she knows it, the Vixen rushing inwards with her head down, shoulders turned as she fires another straight hand to the body, then an overhand right crashing into Portman’s forehead, rattling her backwards. Watson storming in for the kill, and WHAM - catches Nat clean on the chin, CUTS her strings at one go as Portman sinks down into a heap! KNOCKDOWN in the first minute for Emma Watson!! Sweet payback indeed as Emma returns the favour from earlier, huffing and catching her breath as she makes her way back to her corner for the countout. Portman however is stirring slightly, shaking her head as she tells the ref that yes, she sure as hell still wants to continue, having made her way to her feet by the count of 9!

Two minutes left on the clock and it’s all or nothing for both these women - Emma of course charges in to mop up the scraps, dinging Portman on the head again and again with more fast jabs and crosses. But Portman stays lively on her feet, creates enough distance at a phenomenal rate as she manages to escape another bruising knockdown by the end. Bell rings and the HISC starlet is still looking worse for wear, panting hard as she uses the ropes to guide her way back to her corner. Wonderful round for Emma Watson - if only she can keep this up to the end!

ROUND 7:
Emma’s attack suddenly blunted though at the start of the seventh: an offensive attempt launched inwards and early, with punches thrown at Natalie’s head and body but suddenly countered when Portman blasts a side hook into the head outta nowhere, staking her claim that she’s still very much alive and well. Another swing to the head stiffens Watson’s arms, sends her stumbling off to the side from the impact. Closer round than expected as Emma’s walking on tenterhooks now, a slower advance on her wounded adversary, with Portman more dangerous than before as Emma resorts to jabbing back at her foe from afar. It’s reminiscent of the earlier rounds as these girls go back to testing the waters, but it’s also testament to both their resilience. Portman gains the advantage here by stemming the tide, scoring back with punches to Watson’s reddened face as her quick jabs close the round.

ROUND 8:
Last quarter of the fight and honestly, the scoreboards are effectively tied, with each girl with a knockdown apiece and winning rounds one at a time, taking turns like a cruel game of see-saw at the playground. Of course, neither of these girls are playing around as they storm back into the fray, another rapid exchange of blows delivered to the face and body as they put their backs into some of the final flurries of the night in order to break each other. Emma sees early success, turning Portman’s head to the side with a deft hook sent packing into cheek, then using her height advantage to dictate terms for once as she splatters the arms with combos. Portman rallies, however, weaves her head to one side to avoid a follow-up hook, then batters Watson to her body with a left hand, then a swing to the right of her ribs as she fights Emma back. Watson groaning, pain shooting through her vunerable body as she covers up for just a second - it’s a second too long as Portman roars in with a cross hand that stuns her to the mouth!! UGH!! Emma’s head whipped backwards, the rest of her body following as she squeezes her eyes shut in pain! AND HERE COMES PORTMAN, pouring into the bewildered girl’s frame with lefts and rights into her body and chest, stamping hooks crashing into her rapidly deteriorating guard as Watson finally gets BLOWN off her feet by an impact to the side of her head!! THIS MIGHT BE IT!! Emma sent crashing to her side, barely moving except to turn herself over onto her back, her chest rising and falling but making NO other effort to get back up! Referee hits the count of 10 and WAVES his arms over her fallen frame! It’s OVER!

Official Decision: Natalie Portman defeats Emma Watson via KO8!

AFTER:
What a wild ride, folks! It’s a rematch worthy of any main event, and the only thing that could make this fight better might be the Flyweight title itself on the line! No doubt that the current champion Lily Collins’s been eagerly watching the proceedings from the sidelines, shaking her head at the prospect of ANY of these two women winning a chance for her title.

Portman not too bothered at the moment, however, her arms raised and chest heaving as she declares her dominance by the ropes, taking in the loud cheers of her fans and detractors alike. Love her or hate her, folks, you can’t deny the Hollywood actress is STILL pretty much a dominant force in the game!

Watson’s left shaken by the ropes, barely conscious as the medical team assesses her for permanent damage. She’s hit another speed bump here tonight, making the pundits question if the actress will ever be able to reach the heights of where Portman’s standing. But if history’s any indicator, people did say the same thing when she was tailing the proud Vanessa Hudgens in terms of wins as well, only to beat her and defend the Flyweight title itself.

“She’s definitely a different fighter,” Portman says later, still wearing a tired smile. “I’ll give Emma that fact at least - she’s clearly evolved in the ring, and gave me plenty of trouble early on. By the end of the fight, however, I hope there’s no doubt in anyone’s minds who’s the better fighter, and who’s the girl who deserved to get kicked all those years ago. Anytime Emma wants a third loss, she knows who to call.”
