BEFORE: Long time no see but Katherine Heigl is back in the ring if only to quash rumours about her pending retirement. Then again, she might announce she's done IF she beats Paula Patton tonight. If you want to go out, do it on a high rather than a KO2 pounding at the hands of Yvonne Strahovski. Yeah, even Vonnie ain't worth it!

Meanwhile Paula has stumbled into a dismal 2020 campaign, a victory here is not exactly lipstick on a pig material but for all the praise Paula gets, her ultra-tough schedule doesn't leave a lot of easy outs like Heigl to begin with!

Paula Patton wears an orange bandeau bikini set & black gloves. Long black hair tied in a sleek ponytail. Katherine Heigl wears a light blue bikini set & silver gloves. Long blonde hair tied in a braid. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the welterweight division.

Round 1:
Paula's stubborn jabbing attack breaks the blonde's high guard and enables the older woman to dominate the close range tangle that serves up as proper test of what Katherine can embrace on her comeback. The early revenue is minimal as Paula bashes her around and forces into a deep cover once couple of mean hooks tag the blonde on the chin. Katherine tries to swing back from behind the guard but struggles to match Patton's intensity and quickly runs out of real estate. Paula keeps bombing away upstairs and the shear work rate allows her to trap Heigl on the ropes where she digs more body shots to keep the blonde under cosh for remainder of the round.

Round 2:
Katherine becomes more aggressive and sticks a couple of meaningful hooks into Paula's face before the brunette responds in equally ruthless fashion and overwhelms the blonde wholesale. Both women trade quick slants in the middle of the ring but Paula's precision gives her the edge and wobbles Heigl onto her heels; she swings over Patton's head in response and gets blasted in the ribcage thereafter. Paula drives her mitts into the blonde's breadbasket and traps her on the turnbuckle to mirror the script from round one; she leaves Heigl gasping for air come the bell and that's never a good sign after only two rounds of boxing!

Round 3:
Heigl gets whacked over the top early and sinks on wobbly knees while Patton keeps adding the overhand pressure to extend her advantage. She rattles the blonde from both flanks and tags each temple before a left cross nails Katherine on the nose and makes her wince in considerable pain. No way back from this piledriver as Katherine simply can't raise her mitts in time so Paula SMOKES her with a brutal right hook on the mouth moments later. That bomb drops Heigl on her backside with a loud "Oh, Gawd!!", whimper! Huh! Katherine's soo done here and she knows it. She shakes her head in frustration and doesn't make a genuine effort to beat the count. KO3 Paula Patton!!!

AFTER: One can argue we didn't need to witness this "performance" to realize Katherine Heigl is simply a shell of her former self. Looking to end her career with a big W is a honorable goal but might be out of the blonde's reach at this stage - unless she goes full cougar division. Meanwhile Paula notches up her first win of 2020 and still looks extremely happy about it - no matter if she hardly broke sweat against a subpar opponent in the process!
