(Girls Friday vs Free Agent)

Intro:
A battle of USA vs UK up now, Sophia Bush and Helen Flanagan step into the BBU Arena in Cardiff, both wanting to stay in the hunt for the BBU bantamweight title.

Sophia is 37 years old; she stands 5'4, holding a record of 31 wins, 30 coming by way of knockout, with 27 defeats, she is a former FCBA JMD champion.

Helen is 29 years old; she stands 5'3, holding a record of 20 wins, 19 coming by way of knockout, with 20 defeats, she is a former BBU bantamweight champion.

The fighters were interviewed at their gyms by BBU TV's Denise Van Outen, who first traveled to the Girls Friday gym in Newcastle to meet Sophia, who finished her training session before sitting on a bench to talk to the presenter.

"Hey Denise, I am blessed to be able to sit in this gym with my group of friends, I feel revitalize as a fighter this past year" says Sophia as she wipes her brow with a towel.

After taking a drink while Denise asks her what she thinks about her opponent, Sophia replies "Helen is a good fighter, it wasn't that long ago that she held a title, something I aim to do myself"

She continues "I am confident that I will get my hand raised, I'm going to try my best to knock her out and take a step forwards in my career"

Denise then heads to a private London gym, where Helen is sparring with her former Coronation Street co star Brooke Vincent, when they are finished they bump fists before Helen leaves the ring to talk to the presenter.

"I have been working my arse off to get back into championship shape, as much as me and Brooke are let's say friendly rivals, I have to thank her for helping me out" Helen says as Brooke just smirks at her.

She is asked about Bush, Helen answers "she has the name value, that's all you can really say about her career can't we?" Smiling confidently as she slips off her gloves.

"At the end of the day, me and Sophia have both moved around stables, the difference is though I have won major gold, she only won a title because she has big boobs, they certainly won't help her against me" finishes Helen as Brooke joins her and they head off together to the locker room.

Fight night; Sophia comes out with Taryn Terrell and Eva Carneiro either side of her, the American bounces on her toes at the top of the aisle before making her way down it with a big smile.

She is wearing a white sports bra with black stripes down the sides, matching trunks, black shoes and gloves, while her hair is up in a ponytail.

Getting inside the ring, Sophia blows kisses to the crowd on the way to her corner, once there she begins to stretch as she awaits her opponent.

She doesn't have to wait long as Helen comes out with her coach behind her, Helen heads down the aisle with her hands out at her side, looking confident as she stares into the ring.

The soap star is wearing a baby blue sports bra, matching trunks, shoes and gloves, while her hair is also tied back into a ponytail too.

Stepping into the ring, Helen taps her cheeks with her gloves as she stands in her corner, using her coaches hands as punch pads while warming up.

The fighters come to the center of the ring, both bouncing on their toes as they keep limber, eyes locked as the referee finishes up their instructions.

Thudding their gloves together when told to touch them up, they turn back to their corners with both sets of supporters chanting "come on!" To their fighter, the bell rings to start 10 rounds of bantamweight action.

Round 1:
As they kick off the action, it's rare for these two that they are fighting someone of a similar height, leading to them starting off with simple probing punches.

It's Sophia who tries to step up the action, dipping down to fire a double jab to the abs of Helen, stepping out the way of a right cross aimed at her head.

Helen trying to quicken the pace herself, but she is swinging more then aiming her punches, leading her to miss more then to land.

With Sophia landing a crisp right/left hook under the ribs of her younger opponent, just missing with an uppercut as Helen just about gets her head out the way.

As the round heads into its final minute, Helen starts to catch Sophia more as she leads with a jab, slipping a straight to counter with an overhand left to the side of Bush's head.

The round comes to a close with both letting their hands go at the center of the ring till the bell, Sophia looking happy enough with that start, Helen on the other hand curses herself for that slow start.

Round 2:
At the bell Helen comes out more aggressively, landing a crisp jab/straight into the mouth of her opponent, dipping under a left cross to land a right to the abs of Bush.

Helen using her speed to dodge and drill her own punches into the cheeks of the American, with Sophia mostly landing glancing blows in return.

A right knocks back Sophia to the outside of the ring, Helen keeping on the front foot as she looks to keep the pressure onto her opponent.

Using her experience; Sophia leans out the way of a right cross, then using her left shoulder to bump back Helen, landing a left cross when she straightens back up.

Back comes Sophia as she looks to push back Helen, leading to them bodying up to each other, landing to the sides of bodies or sides of heads as they try to muscle the other back.

The round comes to a close with Helen thudding her gloves together as she returns to her corner, her corner crew happier with that round.

Round 3:
Both are boxing around the center of the ring, Helen doubles up her jab as she dives in, driving her punches into the lips of Sophia to knock her back.

While Sophia is landing mostly to the body of Helen, dipping down to try to dodge before throwing towards the abs of the English fighter.

After the first minute of the round, Helen steps back out the way of a right to her body, STEPPING IN WITH A RIGHT ACROSS THE JAW OF SOPHIA TO SEND HER TO HER SIDE!

Flexing her right arm as she heads to a neutral corner; Helen is grinning, 1...2...3.. Sophia rolls to all fours, shaking her head, 4...5...6...7.. Using the ropes she starts to get up, 8.. Beating the count with the referee checking her over and giving her the nod to continue.

Helen looks to press on to end this, missing with a right hook as Sophia leans out the way, dragging Flanagan into a clinch, getting a little time to clear her head.

When they resume fighting; Sophia is mostly covering up, looking to stay out of danger as Helen stalking her around the ring, drilling a few punches into the body and boobs of Bush.

The bell rings to close the round, Helen looking relaxed as she stands with her arms on either rope beside her, her coach wiping sweat off her as they look excited to get the action going again.

Across the ring Sophia gets her head washed down, Eva trying to waken her up for the next round, Sophia thanking her for helping her out.

Round 4:
Helen bounces out her corner, looking for different angles to strike from, landing to the cheeks of Sophia with straight shots, making Sophia step back.

Ducking down though Sophia dodges a left hook, countering with a right into the gut of Helen, keeping her head down as she shows she is not going to be backed up so easily, targeting the body of the younger fighter.

A left/right cross lands to the cheeks of Sophia, landing a follow up uppercut to knock back Sophia towards the ropes.

Making Sophia cover up as Helen presses her along the ropes, she is doing enough to block most of the soap stars punches, several get through to knock her head back though.

Needing to clinch up again, Sophia looks like she wants to scream as she is being beaten around, Helen trying to break free but needing the referee to split them up.

The final moments of the round sees Helen keep on the attack, forcing Sophia to keep her guard tight, the Girls Friday cornet wanting their girl to get back on the attack.

The round ends with Helen continuing to look mighty impressive, her corner telling her "you are ahead on the scorecards and looking beautiful out there" Helen jokingly replying "when do I never look beautiful" winking after she is done.

Round 5:
As expected Helen looks to keep on the attack from the off, Sophia boxing more off the back foot as she is stalked around the ring by the blonde.

Who fires in a double jab to the mouth of Bush, Helen steps inside to try to land another big shot, but is nudged back by a left forearm across her jugs, with a right hook crashing off the side of her head.

Sophia is showing Helen her toughness, staying in close to slug it out, Flanagan's coach is screaming at her to box her way around her older opponent.

Instead though she clearly believes she can walk through Sophia, Helen gets a rude awakening as a right hook lands on her temple, causing Helen to look a little shaky as she steps back.

Sensing she has Helen hurt; Sophia charges forwards, beating Helen through her gloves to her face to smack her back towards the ropes.

Helen now clinches up with Sophia, taking a moment to shake her head to clear some cobwebs, the referee stepping in to break them up to continue.

As the round heads into the home stretch, Sophia is growing more and more into the fight, landing the better punches in a hotly fought exchange to force Helen to retreat to the outside.

The round ends with the crowd cheering for their girl, Helen getting lambasted for getting stuck into danger, which seems to have shook her up.

Across the ring Sophia takes a drink as Taryn tells her "you've created doubt in her, keep pushing now and show her whose the boss!" Sophia fist bumps Taryn before the bell for the next round rings.

Round 6:
Both step out their corners with their jab flicking out, Helen is looking clearly to gain back control of the pace, moving side to side to try to confuse Sophia.

Problem is Helen doesn't look as fleet footed, Sophia is able to snap her head back with a left/right straight up the middle, followed by dipping under a left cross to land an uppercut that rocks back Flanagan.

Who tries to fire back at the head of the American, Helen though isn't landing that cleanly, with Sophia ducking a jab so she can land a counter overhand right into the temple of the English fighter.

Helen's knees buckle as she steps back, SOPHIA LANDS A PERFECT RIGHT HOOK TO THE EAR OF HELEN TO SEND HER DOWN TO HER RIGHT SIDE!

Bush's fans are yelling as she raises her fists into the air while heading to the neutral corner, 1...2...3...4.. Helen turns to all fours, 5...6... Trying to get up, 7...8.. Her equilibrium is shot by the looks of it though, stumbling back onto her back at the center of the ring, 9...10 Flanagan is counted out!

Winner Sophia Bush KO Round 6

After:
A great come from behind victory for Sophia, she raises her arms and walks around the ring, thanking her lucky stars as she looks to the heavens, her supporters chant "oh Sophia Bush!"

She finishes her lap back in her corner, where Taryn pats her back and tells her "please don't get me worried like that again" Sophia grinning as she nods in reply.

Meanwhile Helen has her coach kneeling next to her, checking she is OK as the ringside doctor also heads into the ring, still shaking her head to clear any buzzing in it.

Soon enough Helen does get to her feet, getting help from her coach so she can get to her stool as she seems a little shaky on her feet.

Helen's coach tells her "you made one mistake tonight, I hope you learn from this because you had this fight won" not sugar coating what happened to Helen, as she puts her head down looking embarrassed to have lost from being ahead.

Both women are wiped down and rehydrated, once they are ready they come to the ring center, Sophia getting her hand raised by the referee while she blows kisses to her fans with her other hand.

Helen kept quiet as this played out, only shaking her head as she turned to leave the ring, her coach helping her up the aisle as she can be heard saying "next time I'll knock her clean out" the coach seems sure of that themselves.

Inside the ring Sophia pumps her right fist into the air as she mounts each corner, Taryn and Eva applauding her alongside Bush's fan base.

The victor then steps out the ring looking forwards to the 2020 campaign, Sophia looking to the future as she talks already about who could be next in her sights, including the bantamweight champion Daisy Ridley.
