BEFORE: The 2018 Ryder Cup edition begins like an Alfred Hitchcock movie - with a proper BANG!!! Cheryl Cole is widely regarded as BBU pound-for-pound leader (hi, Jenna Coleman!) but former Black Eyed Peas singer Stacy Ann Ferguson aka Fergie probably tops the music market value all things considered. Yes, Cheryl is still bitter she got fired from the US version of 'X Factor' but her boxing results on the other side of Atlantic provide all the redemption available; she's ranked #1 by Boxing World Online and regardless of Fergie's pre-fight trash-talking, the odds aren't about to change anytime soon. 

Team Europe looks to get off the mark fast on home soil and that's why Cheryl vs Fergie was scheduled as the opener instead of the unpredictable Samia Ghadie vs Danielle Harris match-up in the other flyweight bout. BBU TV's Denise van Outen agrees with this decision while both hellcats are locked in tunnel vision as if personal pride was more important than team effort. Nobody even tries to interrupt the verbal arguments and Fergie truly riles Chezza up while mocking her Geordie accent. It's a lousy effort but it doesn't take a lot to light a fire under the former Girls Aloud stunner! Cole comes off a tough BBU title defense vs Marnie Simpson last week and that could offer the Americans a rare shot at upsetting her stride. However when you're the current P4P gold standard, racking up two wins in seven days shouldn't be deemed as mission impossible!

Fergie wears a stars & stripes-themed bikini top, black panties and silver gloves. Long dark blonde hair tied in a curled ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.

Round 1:
Everyone knows Cheryl can be very ruthless from the opening second of any fight but apparently Fergie didn't acknowledge that fact as she runs into a Geordie jabbing buzzsaw that snaps her head back with ease. Cole barks in her early efforts and rattles the blonde foe from both flanks while reeling her onto the ropes. Fergie tries to jump-start the slugging response but gets clobbered into the turnbuckle instead where she disappears into a tight earmuff with the brunette showing her no mercy whatsoever. Chezza digs several crisp hooks through a leaky guard and dumps the US singer into loud spasms that trigger some wild chants from the audience. It's your BBU flyweight champion leading the rout here and Fergie's unable to embrace it; she slumps on jelly knees come the final minute and is fortunate not to hit the deck already! Cheryl taunts her to show some as she pauses for response before blasting the cumbersome foe with one last hook on the jaw right at the bell.

Round 2:
Fergie seeks any sort of a recovery here already and basically has to accept the slugging exchange with no back-up plan available. She knocked the stuffing out of Kylie Minogue last month but this is something completely different with Cole charging at her up the middle and scoring easy punches with ruthless precision. However Fergie finds her groove after surviving the initial onslaught - she scores a couple of good hooks on the lips before belting the brunette on the navel and digging more juice downstairs come the second minute. Chezza gets dropped on her heels and suddenly struggles to embrace the midriff blast while Fergie almost head-butts her in the process but the action is too intense for the referee to interrupt it. Blonde singer cashes in with more piercing shots to the ribcage and has Cole dancing into mid-range which slows the American's progress. Both women issue more verbal taunts thereafter but Fergie has the last laugh when she nails the younger singer with a left cross on the brow ridge just before the bell.

Round 3:
More slugging galore early in the third and Fergie really sticks some meaningful juice now as she snaps Cole's head back and lands the biggest punch of the initial exchange which finds the brow ridge and drops the Geordie stunner on her heels. Before Chezza can properly responds, she gets NAILED with a vicious cross on the mouth and trips back to the ropes where Fergie roughs her up with another head-hunting rally. The French audience is silenced as Team Europe encounters severe trouble with Fergie raining punches like skittles to dump the BBU champion behind a rare earmuff. Huh! Cheryl eats the phone booth blast and can't escape it as the blonde cougar brings on the heat from both flanks and splits the guard almost at will. She ducks away from a sluggish response and nails the brunette again... she tears a small patch across Cole's nasal ridge and sinks her on jelly knees with a booming harpoon on the ribcage just before the bell. Cheryl slumps into spasms thereafter and maybe, just maybe she begins to feel that Marnie-Fergie double-decker right now!

Round 4:
Fergie thinks she's got the champ rattled and jumps into another trigger-happy blast but Cheryl ducks underneath it and divebombs the blonde's chest with a phone booth-like response on her own! She bumps the older singer in jug-to-jug contact before racking up piercing hooks on the exposed body to drop Fergie back into mid-range. She then clobbers her up the gut and Fergie's aggressive plan blows up on the spot. Cue in a not-so-accidental head-butt and it's back to Geordie attack as the US cougar gets flushed onto the ropes and begins to eat more punches up the middle. Cole restores the order with a steady jabbing blast and outworks a wincing opponent in the process. Fergie bounces off the top of her head with an otherwise mis-timed effort and gets half-spun onto the turnbuckle when the brunette roughs her up to the body late. It's time for a clinching stalemate next as Fergie finds no other solution to see out the clock.

Round 5:
We're back to slugging it out in the center of the ring and the punishing ordeal begins to take it's toll on the US cougar first. She's keen to knock Cheryl's head off with a spirited effort alas more of her punches cut thin air as the Geordie babe bunny hops around her and cleans out the tummy with a sudden change-up. Ugh! Fergie bends forward with a whimper and gets HAMMERED on the jaw with a power uppercut! She goes all fish-tailing here next so Cole has a free shot that pierces the blonde's ear AND SENDS HER CRASHING DOWN INTO A HEAP!!! And just like that the proud US cougar is DONE!!! KO5 Cheryl Cole!!!

AFTER: Fergie showed she's still a dangerous floater but just couldn't hold on in wake of the champion's power supply in the end. The slugging tactics proved suicidal for the underdog but you can't blame her for the lack of effort. Cheryl simply remains the gold standard and she smoked the fellow A-lister in a headline-making fashion. She plants her foot on the fallen blonde's hip and shouts at the audience in pure delight. She then looks down at the US foe and points out "the poor tramp is sleeping like a baby!". It's not exactly the case but Fergie is still lost in the KO daze right now so she has to be helped off the canvas by the medical staff. Chezza then turns back to Team Europe corner where she pads Samia Ghadie on her back as the Beevers' veteran is ready to go next! Denise van Outen notices it's the most friendly exchange between the two BBU veterans in years! Well, it's Ryder Cup action in full flight after all.
