1 March 2020 Emily Atack vs Leigh-Anne Pinnock

Page history last edited by neon 3 years ago

Emily was expected to have a successful BBU career, which started well in 2011, and led to her winning and successfully defending the BBU flyweight title during 2012 and 2013, but she lost her title in 5 devastating rounds to Mikie Hara, and never really won much from then on, being dumped by her stable in 2017, and this is her first fight since then, taking on Leigh-Anne, also making a comeback, having not fought since 2016

Emily looks great in a baby blue bikini, with Leigh-Anne in a leopard print outfit that she says, ‘will bring out the animal’ in her

Round 1
The girls are keen to get this fight moving, and after a bright starts from Leigh-Anne, she starts to fall away, with Emily looking the more polished fighter, snapping Leigh-Anne’s head back with a series of crisp right jabs, the brunette not defending herself as well as she should, tries to counter punch instead, but eats punches from the accurate Emily, who is clearly worrying the singer, bats her head left and right, then gets a little frustrated as Leigh-Anne clinches her and holds on for a breather, following which she manages to cuff the blonde with a nice left jab and right cross, Emily startled, but not hurt, comes back, but this time Leigh-Anne does hurt her, landing a heavy right hook to her midriff, tightening things up before the bell

Round 2
Leigh-Anne battled back well in the opening round after taking early punishment, and she’s clearly been encouraged by that, as she takes the lead in this round, moving well and stabbing out some nice jabs into Emily’s face, the blonde backing off, her corner moaning at her to stand and fight, but that’s not easy against a girl throwing some very tasty punches to her face, Emily getting herself cornered, takes a left then a right, both punches jolting her head backwards, then a good right to Emily’s midsection makes her clinch, keeping Leigh-Anne in tight to recover, the referee warning her, but she looks better again once the girls restart, her right jab spearing into Leigh-Anne’s left cheek, Emily keeping her left ready to deliver a more punishing shot, but Leigh-Anne blocks an attempted left hook, then quickly snatches the advantage back as she hits the actress to her body, and clips her across the lips as the round ends

Round 3
The girls seem well matched, and certainly Leigh-Anne is not fazed to be fighting a former champion, landing the early punches in round 3, working on Emily’s famed body, the blonde screwing up her face and fighting back, using her fast hands to whip punches past Leigh-Anne’s defensive gloves and into her face, making the singer blink as those blue gloves smack into the soft flesh around her eyes, punches that discourage any response, because they hurt and they make seeing the next punch coming more awkward, which is what happens next, Emily, easily deceiving Leigh-Anne as she feints a left hook to her face, but hits her to the midriff instead, her left glove smacking really hard into Leigh-Anne’s body, and that’s hurt the younger girl, who backs off, her mouth open as she gasps in pain, Emily quickly banging a right jab and left cross combination into Leigh-Anne’s face, the singer trying to clinch, but she takes more punishment to her left eye, which looks like it’s beginning to close, the bell sounding not a moment too soon for Miss Pinnock

Round 4
Leigh-Anne’s sporting quite a pack of grease on her left eye, but that doesn’t stay in place long, when Emily gives her a swift right jab and left cross combination in the opening seconds, Leigh-Anne dropping back, then she swings a fairly hopeful right hook at Emily, and catches her! Emily’s been rocked by a real sucker punch from the singer, and she staggers backwards, closely followed by Leigh-Anne, who tries to do the same again, but Emily blocks that effort, then counters, her punches more accurate, and she gives Leigh-Anne two or three nasty shots to her face, followed by one in the belly, then another to the side of her head, and Leigh-Anne is down! The singer gets up at 7, but her head must be ringing after taking that blow on her ear, and she doesn’t look very steady as Emily goes for the knockout, landing jab after jab on that damaged left eye, then she lets her have another left hook, this time to her jaw, managing to clinch when the blonde comes in a little too close, running down the clock as best she can, and even managing to hit Emily with a left hook to her ribs before the round ends

Round 5
The referee has given Leigh-Anne a good looking at between rounds, but he’s happy that she’s fit to continue, but this is going to be a tough fight for her now, because her left eye is half closed, and, as soon as she gets the chance, Emily pops a couple of punches right on it, Leigh-Anne half turning away, eats a savage left hook bang in the middle of her face, and she hits the canvas hard, banging her head in the process, and that’s the end of the evening for her!

Result: Emily Atack knocked out Leigh-Anne Pinnock in round 5

It takes a while, but Leigh-Anne is brought back to consciousness, Emily looking genuinely concerned, giving the defeated a girl a big hug, spots Jade Thirlwall in the Frankies Foxes corner, and calls to her, “I want you next! Then Jesy Nelson!”
