(BBU Independent vs Frankie's Foxes) (4-5, 4 KO vs 13-10, 9 KO) Results: BBU; Story: Vassago
BEFORE: Emmerdale's Fiona Wade is no stranger to prime time match-ups and after going down to both Roxanne Pallett and Ivana Baquero in recent weeks, she targets a more manageable opponent in Ola Jordan this time. The pro dancer finds easy competition all around BBU and quickly accepted Wade's challenge as both women traded insults on social media in the build-up to tonight's contest. One can never buy enough free publicity like a proper blonde vs brunette clash according to BBU TV's Denise van Outen.
Ola suffered a crushing loss to Jessica-Jane Clement on the PageThrees Invitational back in July but she's more than ready to blow the doors off Wade fuelled by the presence of Frankie's Foxes stablemate Kelly Rowland in her corner. Rowland didn't exactly cover herself in coaching glory while overseeing Perrie Edwards' brutal loss to Inna last week so BBU TV speculates whether Fiona can actually take advantage of this? Flyweight is a different kettle of fish compared to Rowland's light/welter experience from the ring so the verdict is still out whether Frankie Cocozza made the correct choice here.
Fiona Wade wears a black lace corset with spaghetti straps, matching panties and red gloves. Long raven-black hair straight. Ola Jordan wears a pink bikini set and silver gloves. Long blonde hair in loose waves. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.
Round 1: Both women waste no time whatsoever in delivering the heat and Fiona carries more power as she tags the blonde's chin which wobbles Ola onto her heels. However the pro dancer refuses to yield real estate and jumps back into action only to see the actress crash into her mouth with more head-hunting assault. Ugh! Ola trips back to the ropes as she succumbs to the brunette's accuracy and has to use those dancer legs in order to avoid more trouble. Wade settles down in the stalking mode but she just can't catch the fast moving blonde anymore which makes her vocally upset. Ola fires back but not with her mitts and the action slows right down in the closing stages.
Round 2: Another quick-fire assault allows Fiona to score easy punches in the early stages of the round however Ola responds in equally vicious manner and snaps her head back which forces a reboot come the one-minute mark. Ola remains the quicker of the two across the boards but leaks too many punches up the middle which stymies her performance. This has been an old problem for the Polish native who struggles to match the brunette's precision and gets pounded back to the ropes down the stretch. Wade keeps ripping hooks upstairs and nails the blonde on the nose just too often for Kelly Rowland's comfort before a late belter on the ribs stuffs Jordan into spasms. Bell.
Rounds 3 & 4: Fiona becomes even more aggressive as she cashes in with the supreme precision. She splits the dancer's high guard too often not to bully her around and Jordan's scowls indicate she's got some recovery ahead of her. She still squares up to the older woman but loses one close range tussle after another and sports a visible swelling around her lips at the end of the third. More head shots ruin her defence in the fourth when Fiona almost gets too cute with her approach and taunts the struggling dancer into showing some balls here. Ugh! Ola flies straight in but bounces off the top of the brunette's forehead and eats a brutal left/right combo on the lips that makes her wince on the spot. She wobbles forward and gets NAILED with a speedy uppercut that DROPS HER FLUSH ONTO HER KNEES!!! Fiona shakes her glove at Kelly Rowland in the Foxes corner and bunny hops in the neutral corner while Ola soaks up the eight count. The clock runs out on Wade's intended follow up but the Cardiff Arena is filled with numerous Fiona posters right now as the Emmerdale fanbase appears to be in full force tonight!
Round 5: Fiona goes for the kill and Ola can only use her mobility to stay afloat of the one-sided action. More verbal taunts from the brunette eventually snap the blonde's patience and Fiona might regret that outburst since she gets picked off in a lenghty slugfest in the center of the ring. Ola's jabbing bravado enables her to split the brunette's mitts and she lands her biggest punch all night when she scythes the older woman across the nose. A quick follow up bursts into the cleavage and Wade trips back to the ropes blinking frantically in the process. She tries to push off her heels but Ola's in the comeback groove alright and SLAMS a vicious cross on the nose one more time. Fiona gets swamped by the ropes and loses all her momentum as Jordan rallies to clean out her midsection in mind over matter fashion until the bell finally halts her efforts.
Round 6: Wade tries to recover from that poor showing in the fifth but remains second best when tracking the dancer across the canvas. Meanwhile Ola catches a fresh wind in her sails and keeps the verbally aggressive actress at bay which affects the outright boxing display but allows the Cardiff audience to ponder what happens next. Fiona failed to convert the match point of sorts and loses more energy in a fruitless pursuit in a largely chaotic sixth round. Ola does well to make her rival look desperate if not even a little sluggish at this stage but Denise van Outen still thinks she needs to plain knock the Emmerdale actress out to recover all the lost ground from the opening stretch.
Round 7: Kelly Rowland guides Ola Jordan into another methodical jabbing flurry during the opening minute but the Foxes' quest is helped by Fiona's visible conditioning issues. The brunette gets literally glued on her heels when she fails to match the blonde's intensity and soaks up more quick-fire abuse up the middle. One should never count on outlasting Jordan but rather destroy her via classic fury alas Fiona has wasted that opportunity and now she gets pummelled around the ring to the point she gets pinned in the corner and can barely keep her mitts in tact. Ugh! Ola hauls in more strikes and leaves the brunette badly swollen come the final minute but she doesn't hesitate in going all-in regardless. Fiona can soak up a lot but she almost gets punched through the ropes and bellows out into a yelping punchbag while Ola harpoons her on the liver area late to SEND HER CRASHING DOWN ONTO HER KNEES just as the clock expires! Saved by the bell! Fiona's on all fours but she's been thrown a lifeline by the rules and even Ola's pleas won't change the referee's mind!
Round 8: Fiona's hurting badly now but she doesn't quit on her stool after all, Ola scampers across the boards to resume the heads-up pounding and she has the older woman rattled and quite frankly not in a fighting shape anymore. This resuts in a steady head-hunting bash that cuts Wade's lips up and leaves her tripping back to the ropes with her guard collapsed, Jordan doesn't even have to try too much as she NAILS the aching foe on the chin with a mighty double combo and that's too much for the Emmerdale starlet now - SHE GOES DOWN IN A HEAP as her legs simply couldn't offer support anymore. The ref waves it off once he acknowledges the brunette's mumbling disarray. KO8 Ola Jordan in come-from-behind fashion!!!
AFTER: "Good! Now you're gonna lick my boots, cow! (...) Hey, I'm talking to you, slut!", Ola tries to rub some extra pain on the fallen brunette but Fiona's unresponsive at her feet and needs to be stretched off to the locker room which leaves the Foxes entourage very upset indeed: "First she talks crap during the fight and then she fakes this KO daze? Hah! Did I really wreck her ass that bad? She was faking it, folks!", Ola questions the nature of Fiona's demise but the fact remains the Emmerdale starlet run out of gas and grounded into a complete halt ever since the seventh round. And it all went downhill fast after that! Fiona was unable to outlast the pro dancer familiar with exhausting physical drills but she only has herself to blame. "She should have knocked Jordan's lights out in the fifth!", Denise van Outen sums up the brunette's failure and for once nobody should argue with that opinion!
Final result: Ola Jordan def. Fiona Wade KO8.
