The 11,000 capacity Echo Arena Liverpool was the scene of this eagerly awaited flyweight contest featuring Sydney Craven and Lucy Fallon.

Tickets had been selling like hotcakes for this highly-anticipated clash between two unbeaten soap stars,both girls knew tonight would be the acid test of their BBU ambitions.

Sydney is 24;she stands 5'4 and boasts a record of 4 wins all by KO.

Lucy is 23;she stands 5'2 and boasts a record of 3 wins all by KO.

Sydney first to enter alongside her coach Kara Tointon the young brunette had a game face on this evening,her blue eyes focused on the ring.

Tonight Sydney attired in a red sports bra,and tight white shorts,white gloves completed the outfit.brunette tresses in a tight ponytail.

As Sydney jogged on the spot,her opponent appeared Lucy receiving a warm welcome from her loyal support.

A smiling Lucy clearly in a good place after signing a new contract on Corrie,as his her companion and on-screen mother Tina'O Brien.

The petite blonde beauty was encased in a black vest top and a tiny pair of matching shorts,black gloves finished her outfit.blonde locks in a tight ponytail.

Courteous touch of mitts before both fighters retreat to their respective corners. 

Round 1
Cautious outset to this bout,both girls content to size each other up,and mutual respect evident as they circled probing the other's defence.

Bobbing and weaving clearly Lucy's strategy the younger girl trusting her dancing skills to keep her out of trouble.

Sydney also quick on her feet and their earlier punches easily being dodged by the other.

An intriguing round for the purists who nodded approval as the bell sounded.

Round 2 
Sydney changing her tactics now and trying to give herself more room,stepped back and tried to utilise her longer reach.

But again Lucy's agility keeping her safe from Sydney's fearsome right hand.

As the Londoner became more annoyed at her elusive prey,she rushed her attacks,allowing the blonde to clip her with clever counter-punches.

Sydney not used to such fortunes,and her pretty lips curling as her brow wrinkled in confusion.

Lucy not allowing the older girl to settle as she grew in confidence,Tina urging her co-star to press onwards.

Sydney however solid in defence as she parried Lucy's assault.

Clearly Lucy's round on the scorecard though.

Kara animated with Sydney at the interval,telling her to calm down and use her boxing skills.

Tina meanwhile delighted at Lucy's performance thus far,patting her on the back and simply saying carry on. 

Round 3
Sydney more controlled this round as she paced herself better,Lucy content to jab and move also,and again catching Sydney this time in her midriff,Sydney riding the blow as she smirked at her rival.

Finally Sydney's patience paying off as she scored with a solid left hook,forcing Lucy to retreat and defend,as Sydney hunted her down,once more Lucy's footwork proving useful as she evaded Sydney's dangerous right,and sensing an chance Lucy nails a lethal left hook.

Flooring a stunned Sydney,who took stock before regaining her footing at 6,the ref happy for action to continue and Lucy eyeing up a KO.

Sydney still fleet of foot though and defending well and also using her jab to keep Lucy at bay.

A huge round for the Corrie starlet 10-8.

And a beaming Tina greeting her like a proud mother.

Kara frowning at Sydney and telling her to buck her ideas up like a stern tutor.

Round 4
Sydney again stepping away from Lucy warily,happy to bide her time and not opening herself up to Lucy's left hand again.

This stand off continued for the first part of the round,until an exasperated Sydney went inside and tested Lucy's abs with a gut shot.

The Corrie actress winded by this attack and forced to clench for the first time tonight.

Ref splits the fighters and both reset their guards carefully.

Lucy now the one who was on the back foot as Sydney peppered her with jabs,and forced to cover up as the bell sounded. 

Kara much happier with her protege now,as Sydney gulped in her water.

Lucy now breathing heavily as she took her stool.

Round 5
Sydney now looking for another big round as she bounded from her stool,Lucy's movement's slowing now as the pace took it's toll.

Again Sydney getting inside and scoring with a deft left,hook,as Lucy grimaced in pain,once more clenching.

Again the ref steps between them.

At the resumption Lucy's quick hands allow her to catch a startled Sydney with a classic combo,and once again the brunette is floored.

Ref starts the count as Sydney shakily regains her feet at 8 this time,her eyes still clear though as the official waves them on again.

Sydney intent on survival now as Lucy circles her working well behind her jab,and constantly scoring for the remainder of the round.

Lucy unable to apply the KO though,as she wearily trudges to her stool.

Sydney also tiring now as this fast-paced bout takes it toll on both women.

Again a 10-8 round to the blonde putting her well ahead on the judge's scorecards.

Kara feverishly scolding Sydney for her carelessness.

Lucy also being chastised for letting her off the hook.

Round 6
Both fighters slowly emerge from their respective corners and clash at the ring centre,noticeably more restrained in their attacks now.

Lucy satisfied to work behind her jab and keep a stout defence,Sydney knowing one punch could turn this bout on it's head.

As Lucy aimed a left hook at Sydney's abs,Sydney saw an opening and her deadly right uppercut powered through Lucy's guard.

Lucy's head rocked back as felt the brunette's power for the first time.  

Sydney all blazin squad even as Lucy stumbled to her haunches dizzily,ref finally ushering her away as the dazed blonde cradled her head in her hands.

5,6,7,8,9,10 AND LUCY IS STILL ON HER KNEES.

Sydney's arms raised in triumph as Kara punches the air as well.

The brunette Londoner had gone to the river twice tonight and survived.

Sydney moves towards Lucy surely not a walk of shame.

No! the brunette is checking Lucy's condition as she helps the blonde to her feet,and bringing her to the centre of the ring raises her hand and her own to the crowd.

Standing ovation from the appreciative audience as both girls hug the other.

A titanic battle between these two young guns who will surely be a major feature of the BBU for many years to come.

"She's a good fighter and i had to dig deep tonight,but i always knew one big punch could end her."

"i hope Frankie Bridge is ready to play" quipped the grinning Sydney.

A disappointed Lucy also speaking to Charley.

"Man i'm gutted but Sydney showed her class in the end,i'm sure we'll meet again" grinned the Corrie favourite.
