BEFORE: "So, Gina Wild signed Toni Garrn as the new welter hope? Big deal! I'm not worried about my status at all!", Sarah Brandner dismisses the media buzz that relegates the lanky blonde into sidekick role on the Black Eagle Boxing 130+ lbs roster. Yes, she remains undefeated in four bouts but the split decision victory over journeywoman Danielle Miller send the proverbial cat among the elite pigeons. This simply wasn't good enough to boast any serious welterweight title challenge in the foreseeable future. To make matters worse, Toni Garrn has jumped into the divisional title picture already booking a high-profile clash vs Joan Smalls for this month's BBU PPV!

Enter Laura Barriales, the designated free agency victim. Sarah requires a big statement win to keep up with Garrn's rapidly growing stock so Barriales ticks off all the neccessary boxes according to the Eagles entourage. Even BBU TV's Georgie Thompson agrees with that logic.

Sarah Brandner wears a red bikini set and golden gloves. Long blonde hair tied in a sleek ponytail. Laura Barriales wears a silver bikini set with black trim and red gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a curled ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the welterweight division allthough Laura weighs-in at 57 kg (126 lbs) so we're in catchweight territory.

Round 1:
Sarah goes on the chase and tries to stamp some authority early on however Laura responds in a slugging fashion and keeps the blonde at bay following a high-tempo dust-up in the center of the ring. Sarah's almost forced to come forward with her elite status at stake but she fails to bully the brunette onto the back foot and eats a steady dose of Spanish leather with Barriales working her way upstairs to frustrate the local fans. She nails Brandner with a wicked hook on the jaw that allows her to jump into a quick fire assault come the final minute and Sarah's unable to fend her off which drops her butt-in-ropes before a belting hook on the liver area bends the German model into spasms right at the bell.

Round 2:
Brandner jumps into a hectic jabbing assault and seems to control the brunette's response however Barriales footwork allows her to stay clear of the striking range and most of the German's punches only graze the flesh. Laura isn't the most mobile fighter by any means yet neither is Sarah so this power-oriented exchange lacks production until both girls clinch each other and seek another try. Laura lands the better punches once she's allowed to clip the blonde's boobs while Brandner's pursuit of a one-punch finish leaves her badly exposed on the counter and unable to live with the brunette's range.

Round 3:
Sarah keeps landing these single punches early on but Laura weathers 'em every time before jumping on the overhand route to keep the blonde glued on her heels. One can argue Laura carries more core strenght here but the pace of this bout slows right down when Sarah gets dragged into a wrestling stalemate following a misjudged close range approach. Barriales seems satisfied with these tricks as she refuses to let go and actually digs some leather into the fellow model's midsection which only makes coach Gina Wild really upset. Sarah's haymaker efforts remain fruitless and Laura does a much better job of delivering the counter-assault to the point she shuts the blonde down along the ropes which earns the Bavarian blonde a huge jeering send off at the end of the round.

Round 4:
Another aggressive burst from Sarah meets equally ruthless response up the middle and it's the Spansh model who lands the biggest punch of the initial exchange so Brandner bends awkwardly to the side and has no time to cover up for a brutal left hook on the nose that smashes her nostrils into a boody mess! Ugh! The Lanxess Arena audience didn't see that coming at all but the big rally simply stuns Brandner onto her heels and she gets wrapped in a flurry of head strikes that SEND HER CRASHING DOWN ONTO HER KNEES even before Gina Wild can understand what's going on here! Talk about a right ole disaster for the hosts! Sarah only scowls through the damaged nose and needs the standard eight count before recovering. However there's blood all over her lips and even the medical break doesn't help her much with Laura blowing past her high guard left, right and center! She knocks the younger model into the corner and lays it all out to the point she forces more blood spillage with Brandner sagging on jelly knees as well. Ugh! This is a one-woman show now but it's not the designated favorite hence the muted response from the crowd! Laura simply batters her wounded foe into a standstill SO THE REF JUMPS IN to save the blonde from suffering a nasty injury. Sarah slumps into his arms with a loud cry and it's a shocking TKO4 Laura Barriales!!!

AFTER: It's a proper upset but Gina Wild can aways fall back on Toni Garrn when it comes to elite welterweight hopes. However it doesn't help Sarah Brandner's status much as she's officially relegated into sidekick role going forward. She has to be escorted to the locker room to have the nasal injury examined but the damage to her pride seems to be even bigger and almost incurable if Garrn turns out to be the superior talent!

Meanwhile Laura enjoys the time of her life in the center of the ring and calls out Lorena Rae among other targets. Perhaps she will avoid the usual cannon fodder treatment that most of these free agents are destined for. She's upset the Black Eagles party tonight and Georgie Thompson believes it wasn't a genuine fluke considering the circumstances.

Final result: Laura Barriales def. Sarah Brandner TKO4.
