(Chimera vs Free Agent)

Intro:
The second fight tonight sees Alice Goodwin and Caroline Austin kick off their Contender 6 campaigns in the Docklands Stadium in Melbourne.

Alice is 33 years old; she stands 5'8 and holds a record of 7 wins, all by knockout and 4 defeats.

Caroline is 26 years old; she stands 5'10 and holds a record of 2 wins, both by knockout since she debuted in 2017.

Denise Van Outen interviewed both women separately on the set of the BBU network, with Alice smiling as she sits down to do her interview.

She is asked about how she is finding the Chimera stable and being it's vanguard fighter in the BBU, Alice grins and replies "it is honestly the place stable I have been in so far, they have faith I can bring them the BBU welterweight title and I feel the best I have since I started fighting"

She is then asked about Caroline, with Alice quickly replying "I should be asking you who she is, I haven't heard of her and while I have had footage to study, she doesn't worry me one bit"

When asked to about any words she has for her rivals in the tournament, she rubs her jugs and says "well I'd warn them that they better beat me because I'm in the mood for some jug smothering" winking as she gets up.

While Caroline was looking happy as Larry, she asks Denise "so are you enjoying my homeland?" With Denise smiling and telling her how much she has enjoyed the trip here.

She is asked how much pressure it is to fight in front of her home fans, with Caroline answering "it will give me strength, having an arena full of people cheering for me, so no pressure"

The last word is to her future opponents, she says "I'm the one coming up through the ranks to be the best, all of them are just stepping stones to my title"

Fight night; Alice comes out with Ronda Rousey behind her, she is getting boos from the crowd but doesn't look too bothered by what is happening around her.

She is wearing a red sports bra, red trunks with baby blue stripes up the sides, red gloves and shoes, while her hair is in a ponytail.

Stepping into the ring; she cups her ears as she jogs over to her corner, laughing as she chats to Ronda, who tells her to keep her focus on the fight.

The crowd noise turns into loud cheers as Caroline heads out with her coach, waving to the fans as she is full of smiles.

She is wearing a green sports bra with gold trim, matching trunks, green gloves with gold thumbs, green shoes and her hair is also in a ponytail.

Getting into the ring; Caroline bows to each side of the ring before she heads over to her corner, warming up with a big grin on her face as she looks excited to get started.

The fighters come to the center of the ring by the request of the ref, both women stare hard at the other as the crowd chant Caroline's name.

When prompted to touch gloves; they slam them together and turn back to their corner, they are ready to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.

Round 1:
Both fighters circle and trading stiff shots as they look to bash the other back, Caroline it seems is landing the cleaner shots as she leans out the way of punches aimed at her and counters.
Alice though spots her chance to really open up, feinting with a left and moving in close to slam a straight onto the lips of her opponent.
Who steps back and tries to open up space between them, problem for her is Alice is slamming punches to her face as she drives forwards.
Caroline covering up as boos ring out around the stadium, Alice not caring one bit as she presses her to the ropes and starts striking the ribs of the Aussie with short sharp punches.
Till Caroline nudges her back with a left to the face, following up with a right across it so she can move into open space.
That salvo from Alice seems to have woken up Caroline to the danger her opponent can put her under, she is moving more and using her jab to keep the distance.
The round comes to a close with Ronda smiling as Alice returns to her corner, the WWE star telling her fighter to keep pressing Caroline.

Round 2:
Caroline looks to stick and move more them get dragged into a slugfest with the powerful Alice, catching the English fighter to the face with rangy shots.
Alice too keen early on as Caroline sidesteps her and keeps hammering that jab into the face of Goodwin, marking her up as Alice looks frustrated.
Till Alice dips under a straight and comes up the middle with an uppercut that knocks Austin back onto her heels, with Alice driving her onto the ropes.
Caroline looking annoyed as she is forced to brawl with Alice to try and get off the ropes, both girls striking hard shots across the others face to the delight of the fans.
Clinching up with Alice; Caroline looks happy when the referee steps in to break them apart, Caroline again getting her jab going again late in the round to finish the round off strong.
As the bell rings Caroline waves to her fans to start cheering louder, smiling as they do so, her coach warning her to keep focused on the task at hand.
While the Chimera corner is still looking confident, Alice telling Ronda "she shouldn't be in this tournament the weak bytch" showing how much she respects her opponent.

Round 3:
This time Caroline looks to have stepped up a gear, keeping Alice at range with her movement and that stiff jab.
Each time Alice tries to come inside it's Caroline striking her with a precision punch to the top of her head and moving out the way of trouble.
Caroline soon opens up Alice with a two punch combo up the center, then swings a left hook across the cheek of the Brit to force her back behind her gloves.
The younger fighter starts turning the heat up on Alice, slamming punches off her gloves to back her up to the outside of the ring.
Till Caroline uses her left to shove that guard into the face of Goodwin, slamming two hooks around the guard to make her cry out.
But as she looks to step back, Alice comes out her guard with an uppercut that again catches Caroline and stays in close to force Caroline to trade.
The Aussie looks frustrated again that she can't seem to keep Alice back off her, with Alice dipping under a straight and surprising Caroline with JMD style tactics by swinging into her jugs with seconds left in the round.
The bell rings with Caroline playing up to the crowd to keep them going, her coach praises her work in the round but again reminds her to keep focused on what's in front of her.
Alice meanwhile still doesn't look worried as she sits down, her and Ronda discussing tactics as Alice's face gets wiped down.

Round 4:
This time it's Alice who comes out the gates quickly, wanting to reestablish her control of the fight as she moves her head more and trades jabs with her opponent.
Who moves to the outside of the ring and tries to catch Alice out with her footwork, instead she ends up getting bumped by the left shoulder of Alice into a corner.
The eyes of Caroline show a little fear as this is the last place she wants to be, Alice trading with her with it clear the brunette is winning the exchange due to her freedom.
Caroline has to pull Alice into a clinch, with Alice pressing her against the turnbuckles till the ref breaks them apart and Caroline has room to breath.
The taller fighter is able to get some rhythm back before Alice is able to get in close again, Goodwin slamming punches to the ribs and sneaking ones across the jugs of Austin, who isn't used to these tactics and covers up low.
Allowing Alice to land overhand punches that knock Caroline to the ropes, the final moments of the round sees Caroline covering up as Alice throws a flurry towards her face.
The round ends with Alice pounding her ample chest with her right and proclaiming this is her ring, as Caroline stares at her walking away.
Caroline's face is starting to look a swollen around the cheeks, those overhand shots seem to have taken some fight out of her as her coach yells at her to get at Alice.

Round 5:
Caroline surprises Alice with her aggression from the bell, coming straight at her with two punches straight to her face to knock her head back.
There's definitely a fire to Caroline as she is now driving Alice around the ring, but most of her punches are landing squarely on the gloves of her opponent.
Till an opening appears for Alice as she slips under a left cross and comes up with an overhand right that lands across the eye of Caroline, who cries out as a cut appears above the eyebrow.
Alice starts to power Caroline back across the ring, the younger fighter covers up as Alice starts targeting that cut, the Brits punches switching to the body to try to open her up.
She clinches up with Alice; the referee steps in to separate them and he calls a time out as Caroline is sent to the ropes to be checked on her cut as blood runs into her eye, with the doctor checking it and stopping it so she can continue.
Caroline looks much more defensive as the opening charge has went against her, now she is being forced to fight at midrange as her opponent now pushes the pace.
The round ends with the crowd much more subdued, Caroline looking down at the canvas as she heads back, confidence seeming to be drained from her as her corner team works on her eyebrow.
While Alice smirks as she sits and looks around at the crowd, Ronda wiping her down and tells her "that's what we want to see, keep bashing her till she submits or you knock her out" getting a nod in reply.

Round 6:
Caroline is trying to protect that cut over her left eye, moving and fighting off the back foot as she looks for a way back into this fight.
But Alice is quick to move inside and shove Caroline back, landing a left hook across the cheek of the Aussie to knock her back.
Caroline tries to fight back, A MISSED RIGHT CROSS LEAVES HER OPEN TO AN UPPERCUT THAT ROCKS HER BACK, FOLLOWED BY TWO HOOKS THAT SENDS CAROLINE TO HER BACK!
Alice cups her hand to her ear as she heads to a neutral corner, 1...2...3...4 Caroline lays on her back with her eyes looking badly glazed over, 5...6...7 Caroline spits out her gumshield as her head rolls to the side, 8...9...10 ending up being counted out!

Winner Alice Goodwin KO Round 6

After:
Alice gets off to a great start as she flexes her right arm to boos from the crowd, she smirks as she heads back to her corner and gets a fist bump by Ronda.

While Caroline is checked on by the ringside doctor, she comes out the dazed state and sits up holding her jaw, punching the canvas in frustration.

But it isn't long till Alice looks like she is going to keep her promise, kicking Caroline to the chest to put her on her back, then mounts her and tells Caroline "time to get your booby prize" she looks up at Ronda with a face that says "I had to say it"

Then she pulls Alice into a jug smother to even louder boos, some trash is thrown into the ring as Caroline gets her face slapped by Alice's jugs first before pressed into them.

Caroline is too weak to even fight it, passing out and being pushed back down, Alice stands up and shouts "she's as trashy as you guys" laughing as she leaves the ring with Ronda by her side.

Medics bring a stretcher into the ring to help Caroline out the ring, she is sleeping well and her coach is shaking their head upset at Caroline for the mistakes she made.

Caroline will need to improve if she is to make into inroads in the tournament, while Alice will be looking forwards to fighting Melissa Satta in the second set of fights.
