Mandy Capristo vs Sayumi Michishige (Lioness Club vs Front Street Japan) (11-9, 11 KO vs 3-0, 3 KO) Results: BBU; Story: Vassago
BEFORE: It's difficult to judge Mandy Capristo's elite ambitions as she remains buried behind Cheryl Cole and Ewelina Lisowska on the Lioness Club depth chart but she looks to take a high-profile Japanese scalp tonight as the undefeated Sayumi Michishige made the long trip to Europe to boost her own contending stock. Mandy suffered a brutal KO3 loss at the hands of Maria Ozawa last spring but Sayumi believes the former AV actress receives all the attention in Europe which doesn't match the national pecking order. Front Street Japan's manager Ayako Hamada backs up those claims and openly admits Sayumi is a supreme performer who should destroy the German foe tonight!
Mandy Capristo wears a black bikini set & golden gloves. Long dark blonde hair tied in a high ponytail. Sayumi Michishige wears a navy blue bikini set & black gloves. Long black hair with bangs loose & straight. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.
Round 1: Mandy blasts out of the gate in slugging fashion but struggles to connect with her punches and eats a steady response over the top as the Japanese singer responds in equally ruthless fashion to stun the partisan audience. She splits Mandy's high-guard and rocks her head back & forth before a looping cross on the nose drops Capristo onto her heels. The German blonde refuses to back off though and swings a combo from the back foot only to find Sayumi beating her to the punch with a left/right series... Mandy eats more punches up the middle and succumbs to the Asian's jabbing rush that backs her onto the ropes where Michishige cleans out her tummy with a nifty switch downstairs. Mandy clinches her late in the going but that doesn't make any difference anymore as Sayumi claims the opening round wide!
Round 2: More of the same in the second, Mandy shows slugging intentions but struggles to embrace the brunette's lithe footwork and supreme precision... both women exchange crisp blows in the center of the ring before Sayumi gradually works the blonde over and sticks heavy leather into her face much to Mel B.'s anger over in the Lioness corner. There are no signs of rustiness from the Japanese girl and she exposes the German's subpar defense to the point she clobbers her onto the ropes again and switches low to punish the midsection just to leave Capristo gasping for air come the bell.
Round 3: Mandy launches another head-hunting attack and finally catches the brunette with a brutal leather rush that raises significant noise inside the arena. Sayumi soaks up a couple of nasty hooks on the nose and wobbles to the side before Mandy drills her solar plexus with a big right hand and almost bundles her down onto the canvas. Sayumi uses her impressive wheels to bail out of trouble thereafter but Capristo hassles her around the ring and traps along the turnbuckle where she blasts a left hook on the jaw and sinks the brunette into loud spasms. Ugh! Sayumi tries to slug herself back into contention but Mandy stays on top of her and drills her lips with more vicious shots before a late gut shot bends the Japanese singer into spasms again.
Round 4: Both women exchange heavy blows in close range where Mandy tears a small gash across Sayumi's nasal ridge before clubbing her on the temple with a proper follow up. Michishige drops to her heels and eats a faceful of leather as Mandy's one-dimensional attack breaks her resilience regardless and spins her to the side. She tries to swing a response over the top but the blonde beats her from the inside and finds a big uppercut on the jaw before dropping another piledriver on the nose... DOWN GOES SAYUMI!!! The big combo ragdolls the Japanese tourist to her knees and she tries to shake it off during a speedy count but still looks rattled when she eventually gets up at eight... there's a nasty lump under her left eye that simply makes Mandy thirsty enough to seek immediate destruction... she bangs quick combo straight up the middle and suddenly Sayumi can only stop the blonde's punches with her face as Capristo pummels her onto the ropes where she delivers an unanswered drive to sink the Asian into loud spasms... Sayumi tries to swing back but only eats more punches on the fly and bellows out on top of the ropes just as the referee rushes in and PULLS MANDY OFF HER PREY!!! Uh-oh!!! Ayako Hamada is furious in the FSJ corner but it's TKO4 Mandy Capristo!!!
AFTER: Mandy wants to escape the ref's embrace and knock the Japanese foe out in proper fashion but she backs off when Ayako Hamada storms the ring and elbows the ref in the face!!! Down he goes!!! Oh boy, the Asian tourists do not like that stoppage at all but Sayumi slumps down on the canvas and bursts into spasms so her manager has to abandon any personal ideas she had for Mandy and focus on her own fighter. Whatever the storyline was entering tonight's contest, Maria Ozawa still looks like the best Japanese flyweight this side of Mikie Hara and maybe Sayumi raised her elite bets prematurely after all?
Official Result: Mandy Capristo def. Sayumi Michishige TKO4.
