Intro: We kick off the set round of fights in the Diamond Boxing tournament with former champion Bo Krsmanovic taking on legend Bridget Regan here in Miami's intercontinental Arena, who will improve their standing in the tournament after a bad start.
They kicked off the tournament with a defeat in their opening bouts last month, Bo lost to Karen Gillan in a competitive fight, ending up knocked out in five rounds, Bridget on the other hand started well against Antje Utgaard, she succumb to the raw power of the blonde bomber in just four rounds, as you'd expect both women have a point to prove coming into this fight.
Before the bout both women sat on a stool in front of a camera for the FCBA Network, giving their thoughts on this fight and the tournament in general, first to sit down was Bo wearing a white T-shirt with a black jacket and black denim jeans.
"My first fight didn't go the way I wanted, Karen is a very good boxer, she deserved to beat me that night but I still think I am better then her, I can't afford to lose any more fights if I want to win this tournament" Bo says as she doesn't quite look her bubbly self.
Turning her attention to her opponent, Bo tells the camera "now I get to face a legend, Bridget was once a great fighter but now I am not so sure, while her rival Amanda (Righetti) keeps on winning, Bridget can't seem to win, in all the fights I have for this tournament, I am most confident about this one, Regan will go down at my hands" keeping it simple as she gets up to go, nodding to the cameraman before she heads off.
Next up is Bridget wearing a black dress with an all business look as she looks into the camera, starting off with "I get it that loss to Antje has probably put me betting favourite to finish last right? Dismiss the fact that I outboxed her for the first two rounds, there are plenty of boxers in this tournament who are simply about power, none have the brain power that I had to come up with when it was me and Righetti controlling the division" Bridget sounding a little bitter how things are changing in the welterweight division.
"I mean take my next opponent Bo, she has come through the ranks by using her boobs or by basically using the power game to win fights, she is a sloppy fighter in my eyes, one I will expose when we fight" Bridget says as she has her fists clenched before she finishes up by promising to knockout Bo when she leaves herself open.
Fight night, out first comes Bo with coach Nia Peeples beside her, she flexes her arms at the top of the aisle for her fans, looking more herself now as she giggles at their cheers, jogging down the aisle thudding her gloves together as a win here could stop the rot her career seems to have gotten.
After she steps into the ring, Bo bows to each side of the ring before settling into her corner, she is wearing a bronze coloured sports bra, matching trunks, shoes and gloves, her hair is tied into a braid.
Bridget heads through the curtain now with her coach Moon Bloodgood beside her, Moon can be heard telling her fighter "remind the world who you are" Bridget nodding as she begins her walk to the ring, a serious look to her face as like Bo she needs a win to turn her career around from the slump it is in.
Getting into the ring, the actress is wearing a black sports bra with gold trim, matching trunks and shoes, gold gloves, while her hair is also braided, she raises her right arm in the air to acknowledge her supporters before getting down to warming up.
The referee waves the combatants together at the center of the ring, cold stares from both fighters to their opponent as this is all business, coaches even lock eyes as this fight means so much to all concerned.
When they are told to touch gloves, they slam them into their opponent's set with a crack of leather, jogging back to their corners to loud cheers, fists up as both look ready for this, the bell rings to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.
Round 1: At the bell Bo is out on the front foot working behind her jab, trying to crowd the former FCBA champion, both landing some stiff jabs through guards with Bridget showing some nifty footwork to get out of trouble when Bo lunges forwards with a straight when she things she has Regan near the ropes.
It is looking a bit of a matador with the bull early on, Bridget leading Bo to come at her before slipping a punch to whack in a counter to the body, mainly throwing jabs or straights into the abs of the model, then moving her way back out of range.
But Bridget's relaxes are not quite as good as in their prime, so when Bo feints with a jab, Bridget goes to dip down but ends up taking a right across the top of her head, that opens her up to a pounding double jab as Krsmanovic shows she isn't just purely a power puncher, hence why she is a former champion in her own right.
Driving back Regan behind her gloves now, Bo is outworking the older fighter with a good mixture of punches, trying to not be one dimensional, which is giving Bridget some headaches as she can only really land single punches out her guard when she sees an opening.
At the end of the round Bridget snorts as she looks annoyed by that slow start, returning to her corner to be told by Moon to relax, she is getting too tense which isn't helping her reflexes.
Round 2: Bridget up on her toes more as she tries to beat Bo to the punch more, both land some crisp punches across cheeks in their inside exchanges, Bo looking happy enough to fight this way as she waves the legend to come get it.
Feinting that she is going to throw a straight, Bridget steps back as Bo goes for a right hook that just misses, instead it is the actress landing a crunching one-two combo into the mouth of her opponent to make her step back.
Looking like her skillful best, Bridget is winning the exchanges now by switching things up, sometimes letting Bo come at her as she throws in counters, sometimes stepping in when she sees an opening to strike through.
There's blood coming from the bottom lip of Krsmanovic as Regan lands another perfect one-two punch combo, as Bridget goes in to land another Bo slips under it before hammering in three hooks to the body.
Rushing Bridget against the cables as the seconds tick away, Bo whacks her repeatedly to the body with meaty hooks that have Bridget grimacing, when the bell does ring Bridget shoves Bo back as she gives her a deathly stare, not pleased with how she was handled there by the powerful model.
Round 3: That shackling she took at the end of the last round hasn't deterred Bridget yet, she reopens the bottom lip of Bo early on with a pinpoint double jab onto them, keeping her head moving as she doesn't want to meet one of Bo's meaty hooks.
While Bridget isn't the fastest fighter across the boards now, Bo has always had a problem of planting her feet too much, that's happening now as she tries to catch out Regan with a big shot to keep her in place, missing too many times for her coach.
Bridget lands maybe her best combo of the fight with a double jab up top, then as Bo covers up she quickly switches to the body with three hooks before being shoved back by the Serbian beauty, who looks down right miffed by all this.
As they enter the final forty seconds of a dominant round for Bridget, she steps in with a right that Bo parries away before slamming a right across the jaw of the older fighter, Bridget takes a left across her face next as some spit flies out her mouth.
Back into a corner goes Regan as Bo is motoring forwards now she has stopped the American being as mobile, switching to the body again when Bridget covers up top, thuds ring out as they look to be really taking it out of the veteran.
When the round ends Bridget shakes her head in disbelief she is getting caught out like that when in full flow, Moon reminding her she is winning this fight to keep her from questioning herself.
Bo on the other hand is thudding her gloves together, upset at herself for how things have went so far, Nia needing to remind her not to sit down as much on her punches, noticing she goes it when she gets flustered, Bridget is there to be beat is the message for Bo as she nods.
Round 4: Again Bridget starts off the quicker due to that weaving that is keeping Bo from landing a jab as cleanly as the model would like, Bridget landing some crisp punches into the abs of her taller opponent to make her have to think about her punches.
But after forty seconds Bridget gets caught out coming inside with a left across the top of her brow, a straight makes her retreat back as Krsmanovic comes on the attack with more punches aimed at her face.
Forcing Bridget along the ropes, Bo is dictating the action now as Bridget can't dodge as easily, allowing Bo to slam in more of her power punches, the head of Regan getting knocked backwards as sweat flies off into ringside.
Pulling Bo into a clinch, Bridget is getting to fully understand why Bo has the "big" nickname, there's a little swelling under the right eye of Regan from a left hook, the referee needed to pry them apart as Bridget takes the time she can get to recover.
As they resume though it is clear Bridget isn't able to dodge as easily, Bo is landing some hard hitting combos square into her face, working back the veteran into a neutral corner as she smacks through her guard to her face.
At the bell the referee has to stop Bo as she nearly throws another hook into the face of Bridget, who wipes some blood off her cheek from a cut now under her right eye, Moon needing to work fast to patch that up as Bridget looks like she has been in a fight now after a good few rounds.
Round 5: The movement of Bridget isn't there now, she tries to dodge on the inside and hope to catch Bo with something, she is getting caught with some hard uppercuts and cross punches into the side of her head to make her retreat back.
There's a look of resignation on the face of Regan, as anyone knows over her career though she is still fighting hard, problem is Bo is bashing her back in these exchanges, sweat with blood is mainly flying off of Bridget as she gets beaten backwards.
Some pundits are wondering if Bridget should have just took a knee and taken a count out defeat already, Bo hammers her onto the ropes with a minute to go, Bridget's guard is going down as she is getting hurt, A RIGHT HOOK LANDS TO THE SIDE OF HER HEAD TO SEND HER DOWN TO HER RIGHT SIDE!
Bo doesn't gloat as she just heads to the neutral corner, eyes watching Bridget keenly to see what happens next, 1...2...3... Bridget spits out her gumshield as she is glassy eyed, 4...5...6.. Blood dripping from her cut to the canvas as she still hasn't moved from her side, 7...8...9...10 it was epidemic but the count is over!
Winner Bo Krsmanovic KO Round 5
After: Bo doesn't celebrate much, just raising her arms into the air as she looks out to the crowd, enjoying the cheers of the fans but not taking much pleasure in battering an icon of the welterweight division it seems.
Moon is in the ring checking on Bridget, slowly helping her to sit against the ropes, Bridget needing a few moments to come out her daze as she was simply beaten senseless there by the hard hitting Serbian.
The crowd applaud Bridget as she is helped to her feet and taken over to her corner, where she can be patched up as Bridget looks a shell of herself right now, not saying a word as she stares at the canvas, wondering maybe what has happened to her.
After getting her gloves off Bo shows her other side, checking up on Bridget as the defeated fighter cracks a smile, thanking Bo for her concern as she tells her "you can be a star in this division" shaking the hand of Bo, who nods at her with a beaming smile at the kind words from Regan.
Who is helped out the ring by Bloodgood so she can be checked on in the back, Bridget waving to the fans as some are wondering if she can ever really find her old self again, while her arch nemesis Righetti has found a way to thrive against the new age supermodels, Bridget has been swamped by them, maybe she needs to rethink how she approaches fights to stand a chance.
In the ring Bo gets her hand raised by the referee as her and her corner nearly forget about that, Bo blowing a few kisses to the crowd as they chant her name, Nia patting her on the back for a job well done in the end.
As they step out the ring, Bo still has a chance to win her second tournament of her career, it's an outside bet right now but if she can win all her fights and hope Karen Gillan loses two, then Bo has every chance of being in a title fight, just going to be difficult to do which has never stopped her before.
