VIX: Scouting Mission Echo

We’re back with our fourth scouting mission, where we invite six new rookies for try-outs at VIX Headquarters. Join us on March 13 for three fights on the card:

1. Nell Tiger Free vs Sofia Hublitz (FCBA Debuts)

Nell:
(21, 5’5, FCBA Debut, Free Agent)

Sofia:
(21, 5’4, FCBA Debut, Free Agent)

BEFORE:
A pair of up-and-coming actresses in their maiden bout, with Nell Tiger Free best known for her role as Myrcella Baratheon in HBO’s Game of Thrones whilst Sofia Hublitz is an American beauty who recently appeared on Netflix’s Ozark.

Both Flyweights are gearing up in their respective corners, same age and same height, though slightly differing builts, with Sofia potentially packing some power in her stockier figure. Of course, Nell also had to fly in from England for this tryout, whereas Sofia simply waltzes down the street.

Bash of gloves together after the referee orders them back to corners. Nell in a simple black sports bra, white trunks and red gloves, whereas Sofia going for a white bikini top, red short trunks and white gloves. HERE WE GO with ten rounds of Flyweight action!

ROUND 1:
Some light jabbing both ways early, dirty versus platinum blonde fighters putting their mitts up and circling, though rookies appear hesitant to get into the thick of the action this early. Understandable, but Nell pressing the advantage early gives her the confidence to land more punches, snap jabs sent right into Sofia’s face to give her the first taste of leather on lips. Hublitz suffers from shock and paralysation, doesn’t quite recover till the end of the round, when the action erupts in the center of the ring with fast hands flying both ways. Nell, however, still takes it wide from her early enthusiasm.

ROUND 2:
Sofia however realises that she needs to impose herself if she wants to win in the ring, takes Nell across the cheek with an early stinger of a right hand, then targets the fellow blonde’s body with a blasting straight right to the stomach. Nell grunting, retreating, holding her side as she tries to cover up from the eventual onslaught. But it doesn’t come just yet, newbies still learning the ropes as Sofia presses in slowly but steadily, sending more jabs towards Nell’s head but they merely hit the arms. Girls still getting into the groove of things and Nell has to sacrifice this second round against her will.

ROUND 3:
It’s clear that both girls want this debut performance to go their way, however: flurries erupt in the first minute as they take turns pushing and shoving into one another, each time getting close enough to start wailing away with abandon, each fighter landing one or two significant blasts across the face or body till they’re forced back by return fire. This goes on for another minute or so, with Sofia eventually beating Tiger back with a lucky cross-punt right to the nostrils, snapping the Game of Thrones actress’ head with a satisfying crunch. Not much of a margin, but it’s a close lead no less for Sofia.

ROUND 4:
Nell Tiger Free not about to give up so easily, however, unlike her on-screen character. She surprises Sofia with a similar right punch to the nostrils early on, sent in between the blonde’s arms and throwing her head back with a grunt. Sofia in damage control mode suddenly, arms flailing as she fends off more punches. Nell bruising in, sending wide blasts across the arms, looking for the chin, taking shots at Hublitz’ body in left and right swipes as well, driving her opponent backwards to the ropes. But Sofia manages to cover up and scram, has the sense to use her jabbing arm to keep Nell away till the final seconds of the round.

ROUND 5:
For a rookie fight, we’re seeing plenty of action from both corners, and it’s rare enough that we’ve hit round 5 for two girls and their debuts. Still, neither actress seems intent on giving up the chase just yet. They CLASH once more with enthusiasm, meeting in the middle and immediately letting their fists fly: gone is the hesitation or fear of getting hurt, and what’s left is a blitz attack that’s as wild as it is haphazard. Sofia taking a wide swing at Nell’s head, hoping to score a surprise off her chin. Instead, the hook lands on the arms, smack to the side of the head, and she immediate takes a return blow to the ear as well. Nell retaliates with an uppercut swung to the chin, but doesn’t quite land either when Hublitz wisely decided to cut her in half with one uppercut of her own thumping to the tummy. Three minutes later, both girls are panting hard at their handiwork: red marks all over, chests heaving heavily as they’re herded back to their corners for a brief respite. This fight is ongoing!

ROUND 6:
Sofia may be slightly bulkier but it’s not much of a difference, to be very honest. The platinum blonde is trying to exert her status as she takes wild blasts of right crosses towards Nell, but the distance is too far to cross, and Nell simply evades or absorbs with her arms. Nell on the other hand going back to basics, counter-punching with jabs sent back, bunching in Sofia’s face in the intermediary periods, slowly pushing Hublitz back and about the ring. If Sofia’s not careful here, she might see herself get knocked the f*ck out from the accumulated pain. Third minute and she finally realises her strategy ain’t working, retreats to cover up. Good news is that Nell is also tiring, and doesn’t give chase.

ROUND 7:
Hublitz tries keeping her distance this time, exchange jabs with an aggressive Nell, but her shorter reach and mounting pain in her face are making it difficult to keep up. Nell pressing in hard and fast, knows a wounded girl when she sees one. She sends combinations left and right into the center, bashing that pale tummy before going up to tag Sofia on the chin and mouth repeatedly. Sofia doesn’t look like she’s in a good state, trying to rally but can’t shake off the overeager actress. Nell soon gets in close enough to land that uppercut from before, this time sending it right smack to the chin, and DOWN SOFIA GOES... a loud grunt and shout of pain as she COLLAPSES to her side, her face screwed up in agony! Referee starts the count but Hublitz doesn’t seem too keen on getting up, merely crawling to the ropes and onto her knees, where she stays for the rest of the 10-count! It’s OVER!

Official Decision: Nell Tiger Free defeats Sofia Hublitz via KO7!

AFTER:
What a debut performance from Nell Tiger Free! She proves her namesake by being so calculated and aggressive in her debut performance!

Modest in victory as well, Nell simply smiles confidently back in her corner, thanking her fight team for sticking with her. Later, she heads over to Sofia’s corner and also congratulates her former opponent for putting up a fight. Sofia still sweating and shaking all over - not a fun feeling to get knocked out, but she takes the hand and the two young actresses share a brief hug before it’s all over.

If she’s signed by a stable, Nell Tiger Free might just be the new wave of British fighters to grace these shores!
