Joy Corrigan vs Eiza Gonzalez

(Lioness Club vs Odds & Ends Fight Studio)

Results: Lookout!; Story: OddManOut

Before: Jennifer O’Dell: “Classic leggy blonde vs brunette lineup here, these two are both looking to stay current with a fellow stablemate just starting to get hot!”

Jeri Ryan: Here comes Joy. She’s sporting a blue triangle-cut bikini and black gloves, hair back in a battle pony.

O’Dell: While Eiza’s in a buff bikini with black spots, white gloves and hair pulled into a battle bun.

Ryan: At midring for instructions, it’s hard to make any call between them.

O’Dell: Corrigan’s one of the few Lionesses Gonzalez hasn’t tangled with. She’s got a good record against them but Kelly Rohrbach ended a long dry spell against the O&E crew last month, and there’s the opening bell, we’ll see how much they learned from that…”

R1: Joy’s stiff stick an eye opener for Eiza as the brunette is drilled onto her heels and forced to regroup under the blonde's punishing left. Corrigan stepping confidently forward, stamping the jab between Eiza's breasts and onto either eye – Latin lovely in full retreat, nothing coming back from Gonzalez in a shutout first for Corrigan.

RYAN: "Hard to take my eyes off that Latina booty the way it bounced and shook as she was battered back around the ring by Joy. I hadn't paid Corrigan much attention before, but now she's on my radar!"

R2: Eiza gets over it, jabs with Joy this round and at the end of the first minute, brunette puts blonde wobbly butt with a slashing right hand on the mouth to catch Corrrigan loading up her own cross. Joy swaying on the spot - Eiza steps right, drops the right hand on left ear and sends the blonde stumbling to the ropes in shock. Gonzalez patient and methodical on follow up, jabbing Corrigan up against the ropes, then dropping down to bash rib with a sick right hand, or dipping and ripping at the gut with doubled up left hooks. Joy with gloves at her temples, buckling forward in pain, getting bodied back heavily into the ropes - brunette getting big and loving it this round - doesn't forget about those perky breasts, shoeshining away with alternating uppercuts in close. Eiza answers the shutout with a shutout of her own, puts big hurt on a grimacing Corrigan this round.

RYAN: "Holey Cow, what a comeback by Eiza! Her combinations looked like those of a totally different fighter from what she did - or didn't - show in the first round. I have to say, I liked the way Gonzalez took it to Corrigan's rack there at the end...reminded me of the way girls used to get after Theron's "puppies" back in her heyday. I can't wait to see how, if, Joy responds to this assault on her dignity."

O’Dell: Eiza’s shown she can shake off a hurting, what’s Joy going to do here?

R3: Joy the more dynamic fighter early--loping around Eiza, reaching in long jabs to body, slapping it up top, staying well outside on springy blonde legs. Gonzalez compact, dukes up, bringing her feet with her when she moves, but she’s a step behind, not cutting the ring off, just poking out contact straight rights and jabs from her high guard, taking no chances. Corrigan looser, flashier, giving the crowd some candy. Joy winning the rounds based on a few snazzy flurries, getting a wide wallop-right on the ear, a slapping hook other side and a heavy right uppercut, then backing away hands down, looking over the damage as Eiza stays covered, not punching back.

RYAN: "I liked what I saw from Joy this round; the blonde shook off the previous round and went back to basics. She established some kind of rhythm early and kept Eiza pretty much under control throughout the round. But while she muffled Gonzalez' offense pretty well, I would have liked to see her do more damage to the body. She showed a lot of flash and sizzle, but her body shots lacked the power I'd like to have seen."

O’Dell: Both fighters mostly took the round off, but Eiza definitely got more rest out of things. That may be crucial down the road

R4: Eiza trying to jab her way in - Joy fading her, banging away on the eyes with her own cruel stick. End of the first minute - Corrigan's got her cut, Gonzalez wiping at her left brow, getting steered around the ring. Blonde right hands slicing in off the jab - Eiza getting clocked, stiffening, raising and crossing her arms after the fact - she's wobbly butt. Corrigan emptying the howitzer, really greasing Eiza's chin, putting jelly in those thighs, but Gonzalez won't go down. By the final minute - busted up, flat footed Eiza munches her way into Joy's ribcage and has her suffering against the ropes. Corrigan lolling back, hands at her temples, ribcage helpless under a bludgeoning Gonzalez onslaught to the bell.

RYAN: "I liked what Joy was doing early, but she sorta lost focus in the middle of the round...forgot what she had been doing to Gonzalez' body and went head-hunting; it's a problem with a lot of young fighters - losing their focus on winning trying to send a message or impress the fans instead of just beating down the woman in front of her. Eiza escaped, and did some late damage, but I dunno if she can keep it up."

O’Dell: She was trying to win the fight, and against a lot of the girls she’s been in with lately, that would have worked. Stepping up in class doesn’t just mean getting hit harder, it means you’re going to be out there longer as well

R5: Joy's hurt, doesn't care: looping palm-down right pounds in behind Eiza's left elbow, followed by prodding left jab. Gonzaelz hooks back in anger, then plows into Corrigan's chest with an overhand right, pouring forward as blonde reels backward. Joy hits ropes snarling, bounces back into Eiza with right uppercut to body, then a thrown-shoulder to mouth as girls are too tight to punch. Gonzalez staggers away...Corrigan lopes in with that flicking jab knocking at face. Looping right hand caroms off Eiza's forehead, dashing her to ropes: she bounces forward face-in-gloves, doubled over. Joy's hair in her eyes, teeth bared as she unleashes that bandy-armed assault, beating the woman around her elbows. Gonzalez sobbing, pushes into Corrigan’s wrapping up around her waist, driving her to ropes at the stagger. Too close to punch, Joy drops a BLATANT elbow into Eiza’s kidneys, then shoves her onto her back! Ref giving Corrigan the finger-wag, she screams “COUNT!” Gonzalez climbing the ropes, makes her stand as Joy comes out of the neutral corner.

OH! Eiza greets Joy with a RIPPING right/left to paunch as blonde stoops forward behind her mitts: CORRIGAN'S CRIPPLED! Joy paralyzed, unable to respond: Eiza whacks away with a series of whiplashing right hands against the lowerback/left hip, beating her blonde at the stagger against the ropes. Joy cringing, sobbing behind her mitts: Gonzalez pitiless as lips curl back from teeth with the effort of her beatdown attempt. Eiza on Joy - in sheets: blonde cowering, too hurt downstairs to offer back, AND DOWN SHE GOES! Corrigan’s turn to climb the ropes, sagging against them but there's more than a minute left on the clock. Gonzalez putting mitts on meat: thick, muscular hooks taking Joy in her tummy; savage, lashing right hands taking blonde above her left hip, or on her back if she's slightly turned, curling uppercuts from very close in - Eiza arching her back, Joy's head tossing, or body sounding out loud under two- handed thump. It's all too much - Corrigan just luscious deadweight at the ropes, being pushed and battered, proud legs propping up that limp torso as Gonzalez pounds away - and THE REF STEPS IN! Joy battered into stupor, lolling weepy in the man's arms: TKO5 for Eiza Gonzalez!

After: RYAN: "Well, that was a good old fashioned barn burner. Reminds me of some of the late 90's Theron fights or my own set-to's with Cat Bell. I didn't like the way the ref didn't do a better job of handling that obvious elbow foul by Corrigan, there's no place for that in the FCBA. I'm glad Eiza was able to come back from that. There's probably going to be some hard feelings in the aftermath of this one...look for fireworks down the road, but it was an impressive comeback win by Eiza Gonzalez nonetheless."

O’Dell: “Stable wars have started over less than this. I’m told we have Lindsay ready down ringside, let’s see what Eiza has to say…”

Lohan: “So what about that elbow…”

Gonzalez: (grabs mike) “Cheating blonde b!tc#! We’re going to drive those sluts back across the Atlantic where they belong!”

Lohan: “And Joy’s coming over in full “Bring it, B!tc#!” stance! They’re both being held back and pulled away to make room for the next fight, but I don’t think it’s over between these two!”
