(Fates Boxing vs The Fighting Academy)

Intro:
Tonights main event sees Karen Gillan hope to take another step closer to claiming the Diamond Boxing tournament trophy, in her way this time is Antje Utgaard, who has arguably underperformed, tonight in New York's Barclay's Center she can prove to be a roadblock to Karen's success.

As we head into this fifth round of fights for both women, Karen is a perfect four and zero in the tournament, Antje meanwhile who was one of the favourites for this event has only won one fight, that was against Bridget Regan in the first bout of the tournament.

Before the bout both women got a chance to speak their mind in front of a camera in the FCBA Network studio, first in comes Karen wearing as usual now a "Marvel" T-shirt with blue jeans and black trainers, smiling as she waves to the camera.

"I am still pinching myself everyday, this has been just amazing for me! It was only a few years ago that I was in the welterweight revival tournament, where I really messed up badly, this time I set out to prove to my stable, to the world and honestly maybe mostly to myself that I could be an elite fighter in this division" fists clenched as she nods, taking this serious while speaking.

Then she relaxes as she says "Antje is up next and boy do I need to watch out for her punches, I've been ringside as I have watched her wreck people, lots of respect for that but I need to keep this momentum going, I won't hide from her, let's get it on Antje" smiling as she waves at the camera as if telling Antje to bring it on.

Antje meanwhile sits wearing a black dress that shows off her curves and bust with matching heels, she sits down looking absolutely gorgeous as always, giving the camera a smouldering look as she pouts.

"I can't pretend I haven't brought my best to the table so far, I know Camille, Danielle and Bo are not better then me, I let them get into my head when we fought, well now I am giving chase" admits the stunning blonde as she sighs.

Pointing at the camera, she sternly says "but to people like Tess Valmore, I am going to prove I wasn't coddled at Front Street, I am an elite fighter! While Karen might be the nicest person in celebrity boxing outside the ring, I will brutality smash her around to shut up all my doubters" standing up and shaking her hips as she heads off the set.

Fight night with Karen out first, as usual she gets a loud cheer as she walks down the aisle with her coach Ana Beatriz Barros, the Scottish actress is waving to the crowd, even giving high fives to some young girls in the front row as the look giddy getting to meet their hero.

Stepping into the ring, Karen is wearing a blue sports bra with matching gloves and boots, blue trunks with white stripes down the side as she shows off her national pride, her red hair tied back into a ponytail into a ponytail as she jogs to her corner, fist bumping Ana before shadow boxing as she looks psyched for this.

Out comes Antje with her coach Kelly Hu beside her, she heads down to the ring wearing a silk red robe, arms out at her side as she takes in the wolf whistles and cheers from the crowd, cockily grinning as she enjoys the attention.

The American model steps into the ring, Kelly helping her slip off the robe to reveal a red sports bra, matching trunks, shoes and gloves, her blonde hair tied into a ponytail too, she flexes her arms to show off her toned biceps, smirking as she sees Karen nod at her smiling back.

Coming to the middle of the ring at the behest of the referee, the fighters bounce on their toes as Karen looks the more at ease, Antje a little more tense as she stares right through her opponent, a win arguably more important for Utgaard to prove she truly is an elite fighter.

Respectfully both bump their gloves into their opponent's set with a nod, returning to their corners with coaches giving them less minute advice, fists are raised as both are ready now, the bell rings to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.

Round 1:
"Ding!" There's a roar from the crowd as both women step out their corners, Karen quickly on her bike as she let's Antje come to her, prodding the blonde to the face with her jab, with Antje looking coiled to strike like a viper.

Swinging in a left hook that finds thin air, Antje gets popped to her right cheek by a double jab as Karen dances to that side, the more fleet footed fighter looking great out the gates, giving Utgaard problems already to overcome.

After the first forty five seconds goes badly for her, Antje finally times her attack better as she lands a one-two combo into the chest of Karen, that gives the redhead the first taste of Antje's vaunted power, a right cross follows up top to turn Gillan's head.

Pressed to the ropes, Karen smartly grabs on to Antje, making the referee step in to separate them, Karen gets into space where she looks comfortable again, boxing very smartly to keep the model on the outside.

On comes Antje as they enter the final thirty seconds, managing to land a left cross up top, she smartly goes to the body while crowding Karen onto the ropes, the Scottish lass covering up as seconds tick away, when the round does end Karen probably has won the round, Antje though has given her a hint of what she is capable of.

Round 2:
The gamelan is simply for Karen, keep the action at a safe distance, drilling her beautiful jab square into the cheeks of Utgaard, Gillan is starting to mark up the cheeks of the younger woman, annoying her with how slippery she is due to her footwork.

Antje creates an opening when she lands a right to the body, then an overhand left slams into the cheek of her opponent to turn her head, Karen finding herself being worked to the ropes, taking stinging shots to her abs as she groans out.

Again holding onto Antje to slow her down, Karen is pressed onto the ropes with Antje's big bust crushing Karen's back into her chest, the model making sure her rival understands not to hold onto her.

Split apart by the referee, Antje is keeping the distance closer to what Karen wants, the redhead beauty is landing more combos, but the raw power of Antje shows with her harder single punches knocking back the head of Gillan.

Who finds herself on the ropes with Antje swinging in short hooks to the body, at the bell it is good round for Utgaard, who jogs to her corner to see a more relaxed looking Kelly, the Fates corner themselves don't look too worried as Karen and Ana talk tactics.

Round 3:
Starting to get an understanding of Karen's movements, Antje is pegging her backwards with her jab smacking the older fighter back, both landing some stiff punches as they fight around the middle of the ring.

Karen manages to duck a straight to hammer in three body shots, Antje needing to shove her back as Karen nearly connects with an uppercut through her guard, making Utgaard actually give up the center of the ring.

At the half way stage of the round, Antje parries away a jab to land a right square into Karen's face, back across the ring goes Karen as Antje like clockwork is throwing straight punches one after the other into her beautiful face.

Covering up when her back hits the ropes, Karen is finding it hard to fight back as Antje is working harder now, more punches coming from the hard hitting blonde, Karen able to land a few good single punches out the guard, nothing to ward off Camille.

The round comes to a close with Antje again finishing on top, Karen realising fully now the task at hand, she has never been a power puncher, Antje meanwhile looking loose after being tense at the start of the fight.

Round 4:
Surprising Antje somewhat, Karen starts to get right into the face of the powerhouse, swinging in hooks under the ribs of Antje as she gets in close range, then when the fire starts to come Karen bolts back to the outside.

Switching up her attacks is allowing Karen to start getting a foot in the fight again after two bad rounds, Antje getting in several good punches, she is getting outwitted by Karen's movements and attacks, sometimes Gillian lands a combo up top at range, next moment she is on the inside working the body.

Antje lands her best punch of the round halfway into it, a left cross catches Karen coming inside, with an uppercut pushing back the redhead to her heels, Antje knocking her to the ropes, where Karen grabs her right arm under her left to stop her land sledgehammer like right.

More grappling along the ropes before they are broken up, Karen back on her bike as she is getting on her opponent's nerves, Antje almost looks to be snorting in anger as she starts to swing in more hooks that miss.

A much stronger round there for Karen when the bell rings, Ana telling her how good a job that was, Antje on the other hand shaking her head as she sits down, Kelly needing to remind her that Karen isn't simply going to stand and trade, calming down Antje somewhat.

Round 5:
Both are starting to glisten under the lights, cheeks marked up as they move around the ring in almost a dance, Karen giving up ground to Antje while landing stiff quick fire jabs to the Americans more power jabs.

Digging in a left/right into the abs of Utgaard looks good for Karen, till a left cross catches her around the side of her head as she doesn't get out the way in time, Antje starting to press Karen more closer to the ropes as they let their hands go more.

The greater volume of punches from Karen are stopping Antje from running roughshod over her, the hard digs from Antje are keeping Gillan from getting away into space, a hard fought stalemate starting to form in this round.

Till with less then forty seconds to go Antje lands a right square onto the nose of Karen, some blood is starting to trickle from the Fate fighters nose, Antje landing more harder hooks around the guard to knock sweat off the head of Gillan.

Who at the end of the round looks relieved to hear the bell, not enjoying being pounded like that, Karen sits on her stool with Ana working on her nose, across the ring Antje looks ready to keep the heat on judging by how she is talking to her coach, wanting to knockout Karen which is delightful to Kelly's ears.

Round 6:
Banging her gloves together as she steps out her corner, Antje is driving forwards the action more, aiming for that nose as Karen looks a little more subdued, several punches landing flush on Karen's cheeks as Antje steps in with her punches.

Karen needing to double up her jab when she feels Antje is about to be right in her grill, catching the blonde to her lips to open a cut on the bottom one, making Utgaard hiss out as she continues to stalk the older fighter.

Pushing her way to the inside, Antje lands a left/right hook combo to the body, then an overhand left lands flush enough to turn the leaning back Karen's head to the side as Kelly is shouting "yes!" In the Fighting Academy corner.

Driven into a neutral corner, Karen is grimacing more as Antje is bashing through her defences, more blood is flowing from her nose as Karen hangs onto the rampant blonde, heads grinding as Antje presses right into Karen, referee warning her about using her head when they are broken apart.

Fighting around the ring in the final minute, it is like a game of cat and mouse as Karen is being chased around the ring, needing to be alert for some power punches that look to have some real steam behind them.

At the bell Karen again sits on her stool getting her nose worked on, Ana giving her a pep talk as they know they are surely behind on the scorecards, Antje meanwhile has a look of a killer, her eyes fixed onto Karen as her lips are cleaned up.

Round 7:
There's more cries coming from the fighters when they are hit with hard shots, especially Karen as Antje is really looking to hurt her, landing some cracking punches square into the face of the Marvel star to send her head back.

Karen is doing enough with her footwork and holding to frustrate Antje in the opening minute, both landing some kidney shots as the drive to win makes them fight a little dirty, referee warning them to keep it clean.

On comes Antje as she throws in some hooks behind her jabs, going for a straight when she has Karen near a corner, Karen slips it in time before landing two rights behind the ear of Utgaard to make her grunt out, swapping positions as Karen moves around her.

Slowly Karen is starting to land some nice counter punches, especially catching Antje on her cut lip to make the model grimace, a missed left hook from Antje is repaid by Gillan landing a right into her solar plexus that looks to have taken some steam from Antje's sails.

On comes Karen as she throws a flurry of punches up top, Antje finds herself being driven into her own corner, Kelly banging the apron to tell her fighter to fight out of the situation, instead she has to cover up as Karen throws the kitchen sink at her this late on.

At the bell Karen returns to her corner with her arms in the air as she gets a roar from her fans, Antje's nose is now bleeding as she sits down, Kelly looking like she wants to bite Antje's head off, instead keeping it together to work on silence on her, both starting to breath a little harder as they stare across the ring.

Round 8:
Moving out their corners with determined looks on their faces, Antje is still the aggressor but now Karen has her own bullseye to target, drilling in double and triple jabs to the nose of Utgaard to make her step back with a worried look.

Feinting to create some angles to strike into, Karen is starting to open up more now she knows she can hurt Antje, getting some hard digs in return to stop her going full pelt forwards, it is clear she is landing more power punches herself though.

Half the round gone when Antje comes in swinging in two hooks that miss, an uppercut lands on the chin of Antje is knock her head back, KAREN STEPPING IN NOW WITH TWO HOOKS TO HER JAW THAT SENDS ANTJE REELING INTO THE ROPES, ANOTHER LEFT HOOK THEN SENDS UTGAARD DOWN TO HER BACK!

Karen looks relieved as she heads to the neutral corner, 1...2...3...4.. Antje stares at the lights with her right across her chest, glassy eyed as her right leg is bent, 5...6...7... Karen is watching closely, preying inside that this is it, 8...9.. Antje has barely stirred, 10 that's it! Karen has knocked out Antje!

Winner Karen Gillan KO Round 8

After:
Karen turns to her corner and says "yes!" As Ana jumps up on the apron, the dream is still alive that it will be Karen winning this tournament, she jogs over to her corner to hug Ana tightly as they know how big this win was.

On the other hand Antje is being helped to sit up, blinking to clear her vision as she still is a little out of it, Antje nearly played spoiler tonight but again has fallen short, Kelly looks more softly at her then she had several minutes ago, making sure she is OK first before thinking about telling her off for losing this fight.

When Antje is able to stand with some help from Kelly, the crowd applaud her for a great effort, over comes Karen to check on her, Antje nodding with a rye smile that she will be OK, patting Karen on her right shoulder to show her respect.

Helped out the ring as the ring side doctor wants to run a few tests on Antje, tonight has been an interesting on for her, she so nearly beat someone the FCBA is talking so much about, yet again though she has fell when on top, where does Antje stand right now in the welterweight division? Maybe we will only have the answer once this tournament ends.

Back in the ring one thing for certain is Karen is well and truly in the race for this tournament, she comes to the center of the ring to get her left hand raised by the referee, raising her right into the air as she is looking as proud as punch.

Posing with Ana beside her, this duo might be the best coaching/fighter combo in all of celebrity boxing, Karen has really turned her fortunes around under Ana's guidance and Fate's Boxing's banner, the look of pride on Ana's face for her friend is there for all to see.

Leaving the ring together, two more fights to go, two wins is all that Karen needs, question is can Karen be the one to lift the trophy or will it be Camille Kostek? The excitement is building to their titanic showdown!
