BAILEE MADISON VS CHINA ANNE MCCLAIN
CELEBRITY BOXING AFTER DARK
Results: Lookout Writing: Archer
Bailee: 21 YO, 5’6 (1.65 m), 2-6-0, 2 K since 2017 Foxfire Boxing
China: 22 YO, 5’3 ½ (1.61 m), FCBA Debut, Unmanaged.
Before: Bailee Madison back on C-BAD and this time she faces China Anne McClain, the BLACK LIGHTNING actress (she also appeared in the Disney Channel’s DESCENDENTS 2 & 3 movies.) As with her earlier fight with Kiernan Shipka, Bailee and her Foxfire brain trust are matching her against a smaller fighter. However Ms. McClain seems to unconcerned.
“I’m making my FCBA debut, something I’ve hoped for a long time. I’m not going to question why they want to fight Bailee Madison. Frankly, she doesn’t look that tough to me. I like cutting bigger chicks down to size. Bailee Madison wants me? ‘Bring it on, babe!’.” The black actress says cheerfully.
“I am just interested in improving my skills and winning good fights,” Bailee Madison insists. “I admit I got myself in a 1-6 hole, but I’ve started to climb out. I don’t think this fight is a walkover any more than I thought my fight with Kiernan Shipka would be. I had to work hard to win against Kiernan. I will work harder win against China Anne.”
Bailee and China meet again in the ring. Bailee removes her robe to reveal an olive green bikini with black gloves and boots (olive green laces). Her hair is in a battle braid. China removes her robe and we see she is wearing a black bikini with dark red gloves and boots (red laces). The two fighters size each other up, but otherwise say nothing untoward during the ring instructions. Sharp “tap” of the glove shows some tension and observant fan take note. They go to their corners and then the bell rings…
R1: Bailee moves in on China bobbing and weaving while stabbing out quick shots mainly to the rookie’s head. China trying to block the incoming, but she is getting smacked again and again. Finally, China falls to steady herself and tries to use her jab to hold Bailee off. Bailee now circling and counter-circling and striking at China to the body. Steady, methodical work from Bailee as China’s defenses just aren’t holding up under pressure. Bailee starts working China back to the ropes, but China is able to scoot around Bailee and set up in the middle of he ring., Bailee pumps in the leather to the bell and wins the opening round wide.
R2: Bailee comes out quickly, clearly to pick up where she left off at the end of R1. However China comes storming at Bailee and gives her a big booming right to the jaw. Bailee sent spinning away and China scrambles to pursue, China firing punches as fast as she can at Bailee’s face, jaw and chin. Bailee gets banged up around the cheekbones and jawline, but finally gets her mitts up to cover her face. China sees she’s blocked high, swiftly turns to pounding away at Bailee to the body. China using Bailee’s breasts, ribs and stomach like the heavy bag in her gym. Solid hooks have Bailee bending forward at the waist as she tries to retreat out of range. Bailee able to get her jab going late and stuffs leather into China’s face. China grows wary late and seeks t avoid Bailee’s punishing jab, but she’s built up a solid lead on the judges’ card to win the round easily once the bell rings.
R3: China and Bailee now both out of their corners at a good speed as soon as the bell rings. Fast exchange of head shots at middle of the ring to get things started. First couple of flurries is even, but then Bailee able to lad repeated uppercuts to the chin that makes China’s head bob up and down while her legs are shivering. China recoils and gets her mitts up to protect her head and face, Bailee seems happy to go back to China’s body with a volley of hooks that doubles her up. Bailee now able to bring rising shots against China’s upper body until the rookie pulls away. Bailee maintaining pressure and works China’s side ribs with flank punching as round draws to a close. Bailee Madison wins round wide.
R4: The two young fighters move out of their corners rapidly as the new round commences. China and Bailee collide at the center of the ring as they hammer each other to the body with meaty hooks. China able to drive her leather deep into Bailee’s abs and she is bent forward at the waist, Bailee trying to move back, but China now able to stay with her and keep those body punches going, Then China starts knocking the sides of Bailee’s head around with some strong rights and lefts, Bailee backing away, but steering away from the ropes and trying to use her defensive jab. China not being slowed by Bailee’s counters, looks very nice as she keeps pummeling Bailee body and head in a nice alternating pattern. Bailee shut down and reducing to riding out the leather storm that is punishing her body. Bell sounds and China Anne McClain wins this one wide.
R5: Bailee seems determined to get in the first blow this round. She is very fast out of her corner and surprises China who is barely able to clear her own corner. Bailee with big, banging rights and lefts to the jaw that whips China’s head first one way and then the other. Then Bailee goes after China’s chin with fast, head bobbing uppercuts. China stumbling back, just trying to protect her head, but Bailee seizing the opportunity, continues to pour in the jaw and chin shots. China’s knees give way as her head knocked back again and again. DOWN GOES CHINA ANNE MCCLAIN. China collapse into a sitting position and then swoons onto her back, arms outflung. Bailee, dripping sweat and breathing hard heads for the neutral corner as the referee moves in. China trying to rise, but she keeps falling back and is groggily looking up at the lights as the referee is calling out:
“SEVEN!...EIGHT!...NINE!...TEN!...YOU’RE OUT!”
THE WINNER: BAILEE MADISON DEFEATS CHINA ANNE MCCLAIN KO5!
After: Bailee wearily raises her right arm in triumph and smiles happily as she now has her third FCBA win. Bailee goes over to China Anne’s corner to check on the rookie and give the newcomer big hug.
“She really tested me!” Bailee tells press. “She has a solid punch that had me in trouble more than once. However, I was able to shake it off and get to her chin. Even then, it took a lot of punching to get her down for the count. This was a win I am very proud of because it was not at all easy.”
Later, China Anne McClain talks to the press with understandable disappointment in her voice:
“I should have won this fight. Madison was beatable, but I couldn’t land the right punches to get her on the canvas and she did. ‘Close’ is not good enough as far as I am concerned, I am here to win fights, not come close to winning them. OK, I have had my debut and I lost. I just hope I’ll get the chance to prove I can be a winner.”
Very entertaining back and forth contest between young fighter with Bailee Madison emerging as the one left standing. China Anne McClain looked promising in her debut and Bailee looks like she is finally finding a consistent road to winning. It’s never easy for an unmanaged fighter in the FCBA, but hopefully China Anne will attract some deserved attention. Meanwhile fans of Bailee Madison now look forward to see if the young Foxfire prospect can get to .500 as her record now stands at 3-6.
