A MUSICAL NIGHT AT THE ASYLUM III: SEASON OF THE WITCH PPV

BEFORE:

"I remain AMAZED," says Ariana with a shake of the head, "That a star of MY caliber is STILL without management, while poseurs like Donnelly clog up rosters all around the FCBA. Well. Tonight, I'll prove AGAIN that someone should get MY name on a contract by midnight tonight!"

"You know," says Meg without a hint of a smile, "Ariana's full of TWO things and one of them is herself. And, tonight, I'll see if I can't BEAT some of both out of her."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'Bang Bang' you hear behind us, and here comes the singer of that tune, the gorgeous Ariana Grande..."

McCarthy: "Who has a losing streak like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers did..."

Cassie: "I don't remember that, do you, Tess?"

Tess: "Much too young. That happened way back in the SEVENTIES. But, MAC remembers..."

McCarthy: "YOU...I...SHUT UP, WALMART!"

O'Dell: "Drink up, boys, and drink in the form of Ms. Grande as she's helped off with the robe to reveal that strawberry bikini we've seen before..."

McCarthy: "Too small and skinny to be a Playmate..."

O'Dell: "Aaaannnnddd, that's 'BAAM' you're hearing hammering through the arena, and here comes the singer of THAT song, 'The Peapack Punisher', Meg Donnelly!"

Tess: "Meg another girl who's done well for Front Street since joining in January of 2020..."

Cassie: "But, she's still at the bottom of the pecking order, and that means she definitely wants to get a result tonight."

O'Dell: "Meg into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve, and she's looking good in that yellow number we've seen before. Ladies about ready to go. Time for some picks. Tess likes Meg. Mac?"

McCarthy: "Donnelly will be another failed Front Street flyweight, but, even SHE can beat Grande!"

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "And, we're underway. Grande bouncin' and misbehavin', and, frankly, on these terms, Ariana is very effective. She's snapping out that jab, circling, keeping Meg off with both the foot movement and the quick left hand. Donnelly looking to line her up, but can't get it done."

Cassie: "Speed works in every weight class, but, it's MOST deadly at flyweight. If you can out-quick your opponent in this division, she's got her work cut out for her."

O'Dell: "Good point. Girls like Michelle Williams have always been able to handle that, but there aren't exactly a LOT of Michelle Williamses around. Ariana moving very, very well, circling, reversing, giving a little round here, popping forward there for a quick flurry."

McCarthy: "This is good stuff. Problem is, this kid is too fragile. If she could move like this AND hit like a truck like Mac The Knife..."

O'Dell: "Final fifteen seconds of the first round, and it's not been competitive. It's been almost all Ariana, as Meg can't get out of neutral. Good flurry by the brunette there, and she slips away before the blonde can fire off a rejoinder. There's the bell. Grande and wide in the first."

Tess: "And, Ariana goes up 10-9."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Second begins with Grande on the move, but Meg showing more movement herself now. Donnelly looking to cut the ring, force exchanges, and she's getting that done. Blonde letting the hands go, tossing the brunette onto the defensive. Ariana slipping away, but Meg right back after her..."

Tess: "Grande doesn't want to trade with Donnelly."

O'Dell: "She does not, and she's doing her best not to have to do so. But, Meg is keeping after her, cutting the ring again and going body. Ariana ties up, slips away, but Donnelly again after her, cutting the ring down and getting back to work, concentrating on the body..."

Cassie: "Meg doesn't move as well as Ariana...few people in the FCBA do, but she's got good feet and is very athletic."

O'Dell: "And, she's bringing that to bear now, once again in Grande's grill, working her over to the body before Ariana can tie up and slip away. Final seconds of the second round ticking away. Grande just going to leg them out. There's the bell. Not close again. Donnelly this time."

McCarthy: "And, we're even at 19."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Grande back on the move and she's made an adjustment now. She's giving ground, circling wider, giving herself a little more time to get that jab on and slow Meg's pursuit. Donnelly game, continuing to stalk, but, unlike the last round, she's not managing to get the ring cut."

McCarthy: "If Grande gets this to the cards, she wins this fight."

O'Dell: "You may be right, Mac, but we are a LONG way from the cards, as we are at the mid-point of round three. Ariana stops, pops, slips away after landing a couple of sharp punches. Donnelly back on the move, looking to cut the ring, but not able to do it effectively."

Tess: "Needs to figure out this geometry."

O'Dell: "Indeed, she does. We're down under 30 seconds in the third, and the third has looked at lot like the first as far as the cards are concerned. Ariana's been in control since the opening seconds. Grande stops, lands a quick flurry and circles away and there's the bell. Not close. Ariana."

Cassie: "And, Grande goes back into the lead 29-28."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Grande moving. Donnelly stalking. Ariana hard to find, hard to square up. Brunette stops, lets the hands go, slips away quickly. Blonde goes right back to the sound pursuit. Donnelly able to cut now, get inside, work a little body, but Grande quickly out of there and into open ocean."

Tess: "Meg investing a little in that body. Maybe it pays dividends later."

O'Dell: "Very well might, but, for the moment, Grande still moving as well as she ever has. She's getting that jab off, getting it on target, slowing Meg's pursuit. Grande stops, pops AND GETS ROCKED BY A COUNTER! Oh, a beautiful keyhole right hand by Donnelly and Ariana is HURT! Grande stumbles backward, Meg steps in a DROPS HER WITH A RIGHT HOOK!"

Cassie (singing): "Turn out the liiiigggghhhhttssss. The party's ohhhhhverrrrr..."

O'Dell: "Meg to a neutral corner. Ariana down on her right side parallel to the ropes. Referee's count at three. Four. Five. Grande trying to grab the bottom rope and can't seem to figure out how to do it. Seven. Eight. Ariana on all fours. Nine. TEN! It's OVER! And your winner by KO4 is 'The Peapack Punisher', Meg Donnelly!"

McCarthy: "ANOTHER lucky punch!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Meg Donnelly, and, Meg, is she the quickest girl you've fought?"

Meg: "Yeah. No question about that. She can really move in there, but I was ready for that."

Tess: "Still caused you trouble, though."

Meg (nodding): "We knew she would. I just had to stay patient and not get sloppy. Sooner or later, I knew I'd get to her, and, when I did, well. You saw what happened."
