Elodie arrives at the venue in a black bikini. “You lost the last time I faced you. Want to lose again?”
Harumi arrives in a blue bikini. “Why, no. I’m here to make you lose.”
The girls don their gloves and the match begins.
R1: Elodie shows Harumi why she won in their first encounter. She goes high, then low, weaving around Harumi’s guard. For all the bad rep Italians get when it comes to fighting, they are not cheese-eating surrender monkeys. Still, Harumi did not win a best of seven by being an easy woman to beat, and she walls up well; even if she takes a nasty hook to the head, few punches hit her and she is not looking much worse than Elodie by the end of the first round.
R2: Walling up and letting Elodie make the moves in the first round allowed Harumi to figure out how Elodie operates and thus think of a plan around it. Elodie’s guard focuses on the center, leaving her periphery vulnerable, but her punches usually go wide in arcs, primarily uppercuts and hooks. Now that Harumi knows how to hit and block, Elodie has trouble defending against the older woman, and finds herself on the wrong end of a fist numerous times. But she’s nowhere close to done, and never even stumbles despite taking powerful blows to the head and chest.
R3: Harumi tries the same thing in the third round, but Elodie has adapted and it is less effective. Life always finds a way. Still, the advantage is Harumi’s as Elodie can’t change her entire fighting style on demand. Fewer punches slip through; many are dodged, and even more are blocked. Elodie’s head snaps back when hit by a strong jab at the 120 second mark, but the round is more or less a stalemate slightly in Harumi’s favor. This is proof that experience counts for something in the ring.
R4: Now Elodie has figured out how Harumi fights, and the stalemate tips in her favor. Instead of settling into a rhythm, she defends and attacks blow-by-blow. More tiring, but more effective. Energy expended is proportional to benefits reaped. She pays Harumi back for the jab in the last round with an uppercut to the chin that sends her stumbling back, but that’s as far as she gets. Harumi knows how to wall up well. Elodie cannot help but feel a tendril of frustration creeping into her heart by the end of the round; she has not made much progress, for Harumi does not look too beaten up yet.
R5: As gamers would call it, Elodie enters round five “tilted” and even though it doesn’t obviously show, small mistakes here and there allow Harumi to capitalize and seize control of the match. Elodie finds herself backpedalling by the second minute, and it is not too long before she reaches the ropes. There she has no place to run and eats a savage jab to the face that jerks her head back. She crumples to the round with a bloody nose, and remains there until the ten count is completed.
Winner: Harumi Nemoto via KO5!
Post Match: Despite this not being JMD, Harumi forces Elodie’s head between her boobs and smothers her anyways. Vengeance is hers. |
