Intro:
Here we are in the Gold Coast down in Australia the homecoming of Renee Herbert, who has been fighting in the UK to earn her stripes, this time it's English singer Ellie Goulding coming to her, will this be another win for the growing reputation of the young model or a road block put up by the experienced Goulding?

Renee made it clear during an interview with Green and Gold magazines Sarah Cummings "I am back to get into the ACB bantamweight title picture, after Olympia won the title, well let's say I am not that impressed by our new champ" grinning as she looks at Sarah.

"First I need to keep on winning and showing our fans who the real best Aussie is, the Perkin twins better stick to flyweight and Tahan Lew-Fatt can keep screwing the paddock at the Supercars, no need to say anything about tubby Bonnie (Sveen) if you haven't the will to keep your weight down you deserve to lose your title" throwing a firework at her rivals in the division.

Finally the subject turns to Ellie, Renee chuckles before replying "she is just the latest punch bag for me, these English sl*ts keep coming to take me down to their level, none are good enough to do it" getting a laugh from Sarah, who wishes Renee luck to end the interview.

While Ellie was interviewed by BBU TV host Denise Van Outen, asked why she is heading to Australia for the fight, Ellie answers "can't turn down a free vacation, it's been a while since I got to stretch my muscles, Renee is just the latest mouthy cow needing a lesson in manners" winking at Denise, who laughs in reply.

Asked about her form not being that consistent, Ellie admits "it's something I need to work on, I won my last BBU fight then had to go into the lion's den of the Asylum in the FCBA, so going into hostile territory and travelling doesn't bother me one bit" looking serious as she speaks, Denise telling her to show the Aussies why we are better as both laugh.

Fighting time, the ring posts have been set into the beach itself, sadly no spectators this time around with just several cameras around ringside to capture the action, the judges table and the time keepers are on opposite sides of the ring.

First onto the beach comes Renee with coach Nicky Whelan behind her, Renee is wearing a turquoise bikini with matching gloves, her hair is in a ponytail as she marches to the ring, fist bumping Nicky before she gets into the ring, bouncing on her toes as she awaits her opponent in her corner.

Here comes Ellie now with her coach behind her, she jogs to the ring looking serious as she taps her cheeks, Ellie is wearing a silver bikini with white gloves, her hair is braided as she steps into the ring, she has a quick chat with her coach, nodding as she looks over at Renee.

The fighters step to the center of the ring for the final instructions, eyeing each other up as this is the first time they've seen each other this closely, the touch of gloves is frosty as they pound their set into their opponent's, then jog to their corners, the bell rings to start 10 rounds of bantamweight action.

Round 1:
Jogging out their corners, both start off quickly with straight shots towards faces, dancing on their toes trying to dodge and then strike, finding their range as their eyes are locked behind their gloves, the first big punch coming from Renee as she feints with a jab, dipping under a straight to bang in a short right to the body, a left hook doesn't land flush, it does show Ellie the speed of Renee though as it lands on her jaw.

As they are starting to get their range sorted out, Renee lands a good one-two combo through the mitts of Ellie, who just looks a step slow in these early exchanges, Renee moves back out the way of a left cross then lands a counter right across the face of her opponent to turn her head, allowing her to push Goulding around to the outside part of the ring.

Good solid opening minute for Renee and now she is pushing the tempo up a notch, throwing more combinations where she is switching targets to keep Ellie under wraps, pressing her near the ropes, though several jabs find their way into the face of Herbert, maybe a little too much early confidence for the youngster.

Who eats a right across her face when Ellie sees an opening, less then a minute to go with the singer now on the attack, Renee dances back to the center of the ring, where a straight bangs into her stomach, a left cross slams into her cheek to turn her head as Ellie has Renee covering up.

At the bell both women turn on their heels to return to their corners, Ellie admitting she came out the blocks too slowly, Renee meanwhile smiling as she taps her gloves together, Nicky rubbing her shoulders as she tries to keep her loose.

Round 2:
Trading more jabs as they circle around the center of the ring, Ellie starting to double up her jab, changing her targets up to give Renee a little more to worry about, but Renee again lands the first big punch of the round, landing a jab into the abs of Goulding then a right hook on the jaw.

Pressing back Ellie around the ring, working the body more as she looks to wear down the veteran, she gets caught with a left hook to the ear, a straight follows to knock back the head of the Aussie beauty as Ellie moved away from the ropes into space.

Ellie is starting to get a read on her opponent it seems, catching her more with counter punches as she leans or dances out the way of some of Renee's power punches, a one-two slams into the nose of Herbert to make her cover up more tightly, seeing her chance to do some damage, Ellie muscles Renee to the ropes, where she throws short hooks under the ribs of the model.

Pushing Ellie off of her, Renee shows a flash of temper as she swings a left hook that misses it's target, Ellie fighting a grin as she hammers in a straight to the lips, then a left hook to turn the head of her opponent, Renee finding herself being driven back around the ring as she shells up in the final thirty seconds of the round.

The round comes to an end as Renee taps her cheeks, not happy with herself as she steps back to her stool, Ellie not showing much emotion as she sits on her stool, staring hard at her opponent as she looks up for this.

Round 3:
Looking to atone for the last round, Renee is stepping out more quickly from her corner, lashing out two to three punch combos right away, forcing Ellie to retreat around the outside part of the round, where she is throwing mostly jabs back in response.

A left hook catches Ellie across her lips, opening a cut on her bottom lip as Renee adds another one-two through her opponent's guard to snap back Goulding's head to the delight of her corner team, the opening minute is all Herbert as she looks fired up.

With that fire comes another mistake as she loads up too much on a right hook, Ellie sees it coming moving out of danger in time to Renee's left, then smacking her to the face with a straight followed by a left cross, off the ropes goes Ellie as she gives Renee some of her own medicine with flurries coming in.

Both plant their feet more as they crack each other with hard punches, sweat is flying as they trade, Renee wins the exchange by leaning out the way of a left cross, slamming in a straight to that cut lip, making Ellie hiss before Renee lands a left hook across her face, driving back the singer onto the ropes.

Swinging in short hooks to the body, Renee is getting groans from her opponent, who pulls her into a clinch, the bell rings to end the round with Ellie getting a shove to the chest, Renee trying to make a statement that Ellie will do what she wants, Ellie scowling at the youngster in response.

Round 4:
Trading stiff jabs to start, Renee swinging in a few hooks that Ellie leans out the way of, smartly Ellie is letting Renee come at her before landing counter punches square into her face, landing a left hook to get the attention of Renee.

When Ellie goes to land a right hook, Renee dips under it before drilling in two hooks to the body, just missing with an overhand left as Ellie just gets her head out the way as she backs off, allowing Renee to get right back into her face, driving Goulding onto the ropes till she is clinched.

Broken apart and back near the middle of the ring, Ellie stabs a double jab into the face of Renee, moving back out the way of a left cross as she shows that she is getting a grasp on her opponent, who is making a few more mistakes as she tries to get back at Ellie.

A right hook turns Renee's head, a double jab knocking her head back as the model finds herself on her heels, driven back towards the ropes with most of the punches coming towards her head, Ellie getting a little too predictable as Renee slips a straight to bang in two short uppercuts to the body, a left hook to the body as Ellie groans.

Trading in close in the final moments of the round, heads grinding together up until the bell, nudging apart they pass each other by to return to their corners, Ellie getting a nod from her coach, Renee meanwhile being told to keep her cool as Nicky sees her bubbling over.

Round 5:
Pushing out her corner, Renee is still throwing a few more hooks as she is trying to hurt Ellie, that temper getting her in trouble as Ellie leans out the way of a left cross, an uppercut knocks her head back, with Renee stepping back a step.

A left hook lands on the temple area of Renee, who stumbles towards the ropes, ELLIE FOLLOWS IN WITH A FOLLOW UP RIGHT HOOK THAT SENDS RENEE TUMBLING DOWN ONTO HER RIGHT SIDE IN THE SAND!

Ellie bounces on her toes as she heads to the neutral corner, referee counting over Renee 1...2...3... Renee rolls to her back with her left arm out the ring, 4...5...6... She looks glassy eyed as she looks up at the sky, 7...8.. Nicky yelling for her to get up, 9...10 it's over! Renee is out!

Winner Ellie Goulding KO Round 5

After:
On form this is an upset as Renee is checked over quickly by her coach, Ellie smiling finally as she raises her arms in the air, staring at the wreckage of her opponent, she fist bumps the referee as she jogs over to her corner getting hugged by her coach.

Helped up by her coach, Renee looks down right upset as she leans on the ropes, shaking her head as she says "I can't f**king believe it" Nicky trying to calm her down, complaining that Ellie was lucky, getting helped onto her stool so she can cool off.

In the winners corner Ellie gets her gloves off as she thanks her coach for their support, Ellie sits on her stool taking a deep breath before wiping a tear away, so pleased that she was able to get another win in the BBU to show things might be starting to turn back in the right direction for her after a tricky couple of years where she was losing more then winning.

As soon as Renee feels better she tosses her gloves into the sand and storms out the ring, marching off the beach with Nicky following as Ellie just laughs, Renee it seems has a few lessons left to learn before she earns herself a title shot, though it certainly wasn't her talent that failed her tonight.

The winner gets her right hand raised by the referee, Ellie pumping her left fist into the air as she smiles warmly to the cameras, saying "I've still got it" winking before she leaves the ring, walking off the beach with her coach, already discussing getting more fights as the fire seems to have returned in her fighting spirit.
