Emily Ratajkowski vs Sophia Bush (JMD Title)

BEFORE:
“Been wanting to face off against Sophia for a while now,” Emily says with a smile and nod. “It’s not often we get to face off against Girls Friday girls, and I can imagine why: they’re dangerous opponents both inside and outside the ring, and I’m glad Bush managed to find a home for her at her age, and was even more excited when I heard she said yes to the title challenge.”

Sophia is seen nodding along to these remarks, seated across the table in the pre-fight press hall. The Girls Friday starlet might be turning 40 soon, but she doesn’t look a year over 30.

“I’m honoured to be chosen as Emily’s next opponent. I’ve followed her career with great interest over the years, and to be perfectly honest, cheered in her corner when she first took the win over Sweeney. Not to say that Sweeney is any less of a fighter. But I think it’s high time Emily got what she deserves.”

When asked about the match itself, Sophia curls her lips into a smirk, before responding. “But Emily has also had her fun. She’s held onto the diamond bralette long enough, don’t ya think? I plan to take the title tonight, one way or another.”

Healthy competition from both corners as Emily and Sophia face off on stage for the camera flashes. Ratajkowski’s lean body is three-inches taller than her opponent’s tonight, but Bush is also characteristic of some of the Vixen’s past opponents, including other hard-hitters like Elettra Lamborghini and Samantha Hoopes, meaning it’s gonna be a contest of skill, experience and fighting styles.

Fight night rolls around less than 24 hours later, with the challenger Bush first to appear through the arena curtains. Sophia has gone for a simple black tube top which hold her assets firmly in their sockets, long leather tights showing off the rest of her fighting figure for someone close to the age of forty. Up next, Ratajkowski makes her appearance simple but direct, the Vixen strutting onto stage with a flourish of her arms into the air, in opposite directions. Ratajkowski is wearing an amber bikini top and bottom, later donning red gloves in her corner.

Referee gets the proceedings underway, spouting the rules in the center before ordering both ladies back to their corners, but not before a friendly touch of the gloves between both Sophia and Emily - something we don’t see nowadays. Girls are back in their corners... There goes the bell and HERE WE GO with ten rounds of JMD action! This here’s for the JMD title!

ROUND 1:
Ladies are both eager to get started, moving towards each other with confidence but then stalling at the threshold as they raise their arms and circle in tandem. Too much respect here (or perhaps too much uncertainty), the champion facing off against one hell of a veteran fighter, with Emily the first to bash Sophia’s arms with jabs in a first test of the challenger’s defences. Bush ain’t no rookie, that’s for sure, blocking her chest and face so well we don’t think the Vixen actually scored more than one punch in the entirety of those couple of flurries. Bush is biding her time, absorbing the attacks, suddenly blasting back with incredible speed, her right hand sailing in before Emily knows what the f*ck’s happening! The right cross catches the Vixen on the cheek, with Bush’s power immediately pushing Emily back a couple of steps! Bush fans are cheering wildly at their girl’s early success, and for the rest of the round, Sophia continues to dominate the exchanges: an excellent barrier for Emily’s jabs and also threatening to blow her off her feet with more powerful shots to her arms. A wide opening for the challenger indeed!

ROUND 2:
The champ is adapting well, however, choosing to stay away in the second and not risk Sophia’s power-punches that are actually making landfall. Emily instead opts to jab at her foe from afar, only choosing to strike back whenever Bush makes a sudden lunge or strike towards her, only to get hit back by Emily’s longer reach. It’s still a close round overall when and whenever Sophia manages to catch the champ with a punch or two to her glams: second and third minute especially scoring with a powerful swing to one of her breasts, after a hook to the tummy connects to that lean body of the Vixen’s. Emily’s lead is evaporating quickly but stays till the end of the round, a small margin of error after her faster jabs leave Bush clutching at her chest with even more protection at the bell.

ROUND 3:
Bush, however, chooses for more aggression in the early third, blocking most of Ratajkowski’s jabs before shocking her with a swing to her body, capitalising on her shock with more step-in PLOUGHS to the champion’s chest! OUCH! The champ’s getting manhandled in there as she looks to make a quick escape, but Sophia is exclusively targeting those hanging puppies with more shot-in left and right hands. Ratajkowski stays alive but winces badly, switching her guard to her body but trying to get away, as Bush gives chase for the rest of the round but can’t catch the wiley, still agile brunette. Last minute and the champ finds her own targets to return her ire, briefly slamming a left-right combo into Bush’s rack to prevent a shutout performance.

ROUND 4:
Emrata shows good form early on, still moving in fast for this portion of the fight, whereas the older Bush is having some trouble keeping pace. Emily scores as a result with multiple side-winders to the face and chest, faster steps to the side before she plants her gloves on Sophia’s chest, which draws another urk and gasp from the challenger’s lips in the first minute. Soon after though, Bush has had enough and barrels straight into the champ, flinging her fists inwards in a wild attempt to dominate the round, hopefully even knocking the Vixen down with a lucky swing or two. Doesn’t really work out for her, however, as Ratajkowski keeps Bush steady and upright in close quarters, refusing to get pushed around the ring. Ladies have to be frequently broken apart by the referee but not before Bush catches the champ on her chest with a stinging swipe across her breasts in the cross-fire. Emily wincing, clutching an arm over her to defend herself, but still secures the round by a close margin with her earlier points scored at the bell.

ROUND 5:
An early rush from Bush stuns Emily in place when she wasn’t expecting it, Sophia suddenly breaking her defensive stance and charges in, her fists swinging high and low! Emily grunts, letting out a shout as a fist crashes into the side of her head, another mid-swing hook catching her off the bikini top, wobbling those jugs in their sockets. Emily’s trying to survive in there but in the face of overwhelming firepower, gets DING-ed on the chin next, with Sophia’s swing THROWING her clean off to the side! Emily goes flying towards the ropes, losing her balance along the way as the champ CRASHES to her knees! It’s a KNOCKDOWN for Bush in the very first minute! Holy cow! Could this be it?!?

Bush throws her arms into the air, elated as she stumbles back to the neutral corner. It would be quite a feat indeed if the near-40-year-old managed to secure the coveted JMD bralette for her age. Emily hasn’t been KO-ed yet, however, slowly shaking the pain off her head whilst on all fours before slowly rising back up to meet the challenge head-on. The Vixen steadies herself by the count of 7, but still has to contend with two more minutes in the round!

Referee waves to continue and here we go again! Bush rides inwards like a determined missile, now with her eyes firmly on the prize as she re-initiates with another swing and veer inwards, slamming a straight cross into the arms before almost taking Emily’s head off with a further swish diagonally upwards. Almost! Emily shows off surprising agility as she keeps her back away from the ropes, her long legs back to working in overdrive as she escapes the pocket for now, keeping herself alive for another round, if possible. Bush going to town on her at every opportunity, of course, determined to put an abrupt end to her JMD reign as she repeatedly lunges at the brunette’s head, but misses, Emily soon counters back with tight and tepid swipes across Bush’s face, planting more and more leather into her chest to drive her back bit by bit! Bush lets out another grunt after taking another one-two combo to her breasts in succession, before a third ping! to the chin throws her backwards with a grunt! Emily unexpectedly kickstarts her counterattack, roars back to press in, suddenly focused as she snaps more clean blows into Bush’s face, a final right hand DRIVEN into the lips which has Bush floundering on her feet, before the challenger CRASHES down to her side, looking absolutely shellshocked from that return combo! It’s a comeback KNOCKDOWN for the champ in the very final minute, and it’s about to go down to the wire as to whether Bush can recover in time or not!

An unexpected outcome, for sure, as the Girls Friday corner are wringing their heads in their hands, their fortunes flipped like a coin once Emily found her footing in the final seconds and exploited Sophia’s tired nature. Bush is still groaning on her back, her arms barely moving off to the side before she covers her face with one of her arms. The referee gives the challenger the full benefit of a 10-count but it still ain’t enough! Not nearly! He finally hits the count of 10 and WAVES both his arms over Bush’s prone body! That’s all she wrote, folks!!

Official Decision: Emily Ratajkowski defeats Sophia Bush via KO5! Emily Ratajkowski is STILL the JMD champion!

AFTER:
A valiant attempt indeed from Bush, who looks absolutely smashed as she remains still on her back, her chest rising and falling with laboured breaths. A sympathetic Emily Ratajkowski doesn’t keep the post-fight smother locked in too long or tight, merely posing at Sophia’s head with her gleaming chest positioned an inch over and close to Bush’s face, the proud actress seen shaking her head from side to side below, and fighting back tears.

Later, Emily helps Sophia to her feet, and the two women share a congratulatory and encouraging embrace, telling each other to continue fighting, no matter what the naysayers might say. Ratajkowski secures another title defense for herself, clutching the diamond-studded bralette close to her proud chest moments later, then smiling and waving to the fans and cameras. Who’s next on her hit-list?

“Too many ladies think they’re better than me. I could list them all by name but why waste my breath?” Emily says later to the reporters. “I’ve got scores to settle with Thorne and Rose, but there’s still one girl I’ve yet to test myself against.”
