5. Alyssa Lynch vs Hunter King II
Alyssa: (26, 5’7, 35:15 FCBA, VIXENs)
Hunter: (27, 5’5, 18:6 FCBA, Knockout Babes)
BEFORE: Our second-last match on the cards is a highly-anticipated rematch between Alyssa Lynch and Knockout Babes’ Hunter King. The latter took the first win at the start of this year - arguably her most impressive win to date - after KO’ing Lynch in just five rounds. To hear Lynch describe the moment, however, there’s clearly unfinished business between these two.
“I don’t know what happened back then, but it ain’t gonna happen again,” Alyssa says first from the press table. “I’ve studied the tape countless times and feel that I’ve learned to get around King’s power for this fight. Obviously, I ain’t sharing my specific strategy, but you can bet this fight is going the other way.”
“What happened, Alyssa, is you got your head blown off its hinges,” King responds with a smug expression from across the room. “It’s as simple as that. Try as she might, Alyssa will never be as good as me, and pretending that she is is just going to get her ass beaten a second and third and fourth time… There’s something about Lynch getting her ass kicked by us blondes, isn’t there?”
Alyssa seething at that last comment, and you can tell she’s riled up when the two ladies meet later in the ring for the showdown and announcements. They’re bumping heads and chests, continuing to taunt each other to make the first move if they’re woman enough. Referee has to get in between the girls and separate them back to their corners to start this rematch.
Alyssa is in a classy black sports bra with white trimmings, white workout briefs for maximum mobility. She’s wearing dark blue gloves for this contest. Hunter has gone for a red bikini top and yellow boxing trunks. She’s in black gloves tonight. There goes the bell and HERE WE GO with ten rounds of Bantamweight action!
ROUND 1: Alyssa’s more cautious in this second contest, getting KO’ed in upset fashion the last time being nothing to brag home about. She moves in with purpose, jabbing at Hunter’s head but keeping a wide berth, staying on the lookout for that mean right hook. Hunter, on the other hand, is entirely reliant on her own firepower, already trying to corner Lynch and bring her down with wide lunges to her head, but only managing to snag the Vixen on her arms for now. It’s definitely a continuation of their last fight, which ended far too soon as far as the fans are concerned. Hunter uses her firepower to try and bring Lynch down from the get-go, slamming a hard hook into the brunette’s body but then another swipe at the face misses completely. Instead, Lynch is taking control of the early action, returning with jabs to the blonde’s face and using her leaner, more agile figure for effect. Round ends and it’s Lynch who walks away holding her head high with a wide performance to be proud of, whereas Hunter is the one rubbing her cheeks and growling back to her corner.
ROUND 2: If Alyssa plays this strategy up, she might turn the tables on her old foe tonight. She keeps to the same tactics in the second round, trying for more aggressive hit-and-run movements, one moment staying back and jabbing at the face, the other, streaking inwards and landing lightning hits to Hunter’s body and arms, further frustrating the recent Free Agent’s efforts. Hunter, however, has had enough in the second minute, waiting for Lynch to vault inwards before BASHING her across her arms with a heavy hook, another ringin’ shot sent high to tag Lynch on the forehead and her spinning off into the distance! OUCH! Not the KO-blow that Hunter was expecting, but she’s done her dastardly deeds here: Lynch is in trouble, looking stunned, being walked backwards, grunting as King wades in and pummels her to the ribs and body. Bell rings, however, and the Vixen is allowed to fight another day, her tummy definitely taking a beating.
ROUND 3: Lynch needs to play it even more cautious in the third, and it shows: the Vixen stays back at a faraway distance, arms locked over the base of her chin, eyes focusing on minute movements from King in order to get the f*ck out of her way at the smallest twitch of her hands. King smirking, moving inwards with confidence - she’s already won their first bout, and thinks this second is a near certainty. King’s taking mean lunges at Alyssa’s direction, trying to take her head off with sudden hooks and uppercuts swung in. But Lynch ain’t falling for it - not this early in the fight, at least - expertly weaving out of the way or using her planted feet and a firm guard to absorb the attacks, then blasting Hunter to the chin with short but snappy uppercuts of her own. King growls as another punting glove scores off the base of her jawline, which stuns her briefly but doesn’t send her down. The former Front Street fighter is built firm and full of spirit, that’s for sure, continuing to walk Alyssa down, trying to make her kiss canvas. Lynch takes a hard shot to the middle of her arms, which briefly makes the VIX corner worried after the brunette gets sent spiraling into the ropes, but she quickly recovers and leaps out of the way of another follow-up lunge from King, who crashes into the ropes instead, breathing hard. No real dice from both women at the bell, who are both quickly tiring. Bell rings and we think Lynch managed to out-point King throughout the round, but not by much. This fight continues!
ROUND 4: Hunter not giving two fucks as she chases Lynch across the ring and back, showing even more aggression despite her two-inch height disadvantage and slightly older status. She’s determined to knock Alyssa down once and for all, and makes the mistake of underestimating the brunette in the very first minute. Lynch stays calm throughout the repeated rushes sent her way, blocking those attacks with a nary of a grunt before shooting jabs back into Hunter’s nose and chest, drawing a squeal of her own when the action veers JMD-focused. Alyssa can’t help but target Hunter’s open jugs, pounding on her bikini top with left-right combos before going for her chin with a straight cross-hand. Hunter, however, is outraged by the JMD treatment, RIPS a hook into the side of Alyssa’s head, which SPINS the Vixen clean to the side, and in shock! King follows through, snarling as she corners Lynch on the ropes and goes to work on her body and breasts, pounding leather off her tummy and ending the blitz with a hard swipe across her chest for good measure! These two clearly do NOT like each other, and it shows! Lynch survives, holding on with repeated clinch-attempts, stopping the bigger blonde in between her attacks as they press in and smother each other to the ropes. Referee has to intervene on multiple occasions, but to no avail. Hunter roughly SHOVES Alyssa off her shoulders by the time the bell rings, showing her frustration at not having knocked her foe out by this point in the fight.
ROUND 5: Hunter’s still giving it her all, however, RUSHING Alyssa down here to try and finish off the tired girl! There’s plenty riding on the blonde’s shoulders after being released by her former stable after such a long and illustrious tenure. She NEEDS to prove her worth as a Free Agent if she ever wants to be signed by another stable! She hammers shots into Alyssa’s arms, thrashing her torso and head about with vicious shouts of expended energy. Meanwhile, Alyssa is just trying to stay alive and keep herself away from the pocket of the abuse. Lynch tried to brawl with the fiery blonde the last time round, and it didn’t work out too well for her. The Vixen covers her head and scrams, still grunting whenever Hunter fires a hook into the side of her body or a sudden swing catches her hard on the forearms. But for the most part, Alyssa stays alive, breathing hard in the third minute from the opposite corner of the ring, thinking to herself what’s the best way to move forward and crack Hunter’s defences - all without getting KO’ed and left drooling on the canvas floor. For now, the Vixen opts for the slow and steady approach, capitalising on Hunter’s own growing exhaustion by sending fast, crisp jabs into her face and chin, drawing gulps of pain from the blonde in turn to close this round as anything but a shutout performance.
ROUND 6: King looks done, to be honest, in her quest to knock the Vixen down just like before, her chest heaving hard as she walks out of her corner at the start of the bell. It’s the never ending chasing that’s done it for the blonde, who’s purely focused on catching her breath this round. She takes a wild swing at Lynch as the two ladies close in for the sixth time, but Lynch’s movements are fluid and slick as she weaves easily to one side, before PLANTING a nice hook into Hunter’s face for wicked payback! UGH! Hunter’s too tired to see that well-oiled number coming, grunts as she absorbs another powerful hook to her raised arm, and suddenly, she’s the one getting beaten backwards! Lynch pressing in like a sandwich maker on peanut butter and jelly, slamming targeted fists into the blonde’s head, which knock her about with stumbled steps, then alternating with swings into her thick frame down below, burying shots into her body and chest! Hunter’s wilting, but still dangerous, her back hitting the ropes but her arms still up and covering. Lynch not giving up - it’s HER turn to shine as she smells weakness, LUNGES in with a screwball fist off the forehead, which BLOWS King’s head backwards and over the top rope! OUCH!! King’s getting absolutely massacred on the ropes here, her head bashed left and right, before her body folded over by Alyssa’s heat-seeking missiles, until DOWN THE BLONDE GOES, finally beaten into the ground, quite literally, by a series of wild overhand rights from the crazed Vixen, who pummels Hunter King into a KO6 victory! Referee has to pull Alyssa off her foe to give King the 10-count to recover, but it’s no use! The beaten blonde is left lying shocked on her back by the ropes, one arm pulling helplessly at the bottom rung! It’s all OVER!!
Official Decision: Alyssa Lynch defeats Hunter King via KO6!
AFTER: “WHO GOT BLOWN OFF HER HINGES, b*tch?!?” Alyssa shrieks down into Hunter’s face in the immediate aftermath of the fight, trying to lunge at King’s stunned features and send more punches down into her face as keepsake.
But the referee and ring officials are quick to intervene, herding Lynch back to the other corner, the wild Vixen spitting insults all the while at her former opponent.
Meanwhile, Hunter is being seen to by the medical team, nodding and shaking her head in stunned silence as she responds to queries as to whether she’s alright. Not the best night for her, but some pundits are already suggesting that a third rubber match occur between these two rivals, who clearly have leftover beef to settle.
“You know, Lynch is just one big cry baby,” King later scoffs to reporters after being escorted backstage. “I’ve heard nothing but complaints from her ever since she fell to Alexis Ren, and then me. Tonight was nothing but a lucky fluke from her. Let’s see how well she does when we fight a third and final time, and I put her into the ground again.”
