Shakira vs Norah Jones

Two singers would be boxing this evening as Shakira would take on Norah Jones.

Norah is an unknown commodity here in the ring. She has spoken of boxing privately at clubs and private gatherings.

Shakira is well known in the ring and says as much in her press event.

Norah comes to the ring wearing a simple black one piece swimsuit. Her gloves are white gloves as are her boots with black laces. Her short hair wetted down.

Shakira in sexy white one piece cut high in the thigh as she stands in the ring. Gold boots and gloves adorn her hands and feet. Her hair is pulled back in a simple ponytail.

After dropping the first round widely, Norah won the second closely. The black clad brunette surprised Shakira and some fight fans with some big punches to her body during the round. A couple came near the bell and those helped Norah carry the round.

The third round saw Shakira come out first after losing the second round. The round opened with her going for Jones' head. Norah ducked and blocked those as she had to defend fast now. The blonde singer went to Norah's body with her gloves as the round progressed as she backed the singer to the near ropes. Jones had to defend more now before the two got into slugging mode. This was something to see two smaller boxers slug it out with one another especially considering one of them was an unknown commodity between the ropes. Norah spins off ropes and gets back to middle of the ring after some heavy exchanges. Shakira’s pressure of Norah continued for the rest of the round. When the bell rang, Shakira had taken the round widely.

The fourth round was closer than the third had been. Shakira won it but fight fans saw Jones change her fight plan. A couple times she unleashed a left uppercut and hook that seemed to strike the blonde singer’s face just right to stop her fast punching style. Norah seemed to be leading now with a straight or long jab this round and those helped her greatly in this round.

The fifth round again was a close one. Norah timed Shakira’s footwork near the opening of the round and SMACKED her with a big time right cross to her face. That surprised the Colombian and knocked her a couple steps sideways. Jones’ white gloves then started to work on the blonde’s face as the boxers were now on the far ropes. Shakira now had to cover up and defend as her back was now to those ropes. Soon she slipped and brought the bout back to center of the ring. Norah’s use of her jabs to the face brought upon a firefight which has the fans up and cheering. Shakira countered with a few punches to Norah’s midsection and breasts as her face was the area of Jones’ punches. They were clinched up together and had to be broken apart as the firefight ended. Jones’ jab and straights helped her win the round.

The bell rang beginning the sixth round as fight fans saw both boxers come out of their corners. Shakira tried to rush Norah but wound up eating back to back straights to her face. Jones took full advantage when the blonde singer dropped her gloves low to try for punches to Jones’ body and hit a left uppercut and right cross combination to her face. Those punches have the Colombian singer adopting gloves to face defense as she moves back. Norah Then went to rush Shakira and throw some hooks into her body and breasts. Fight fans are up and cheering as Shakira’s own punches have dropped to nothing. Jones sees the blonde’s gloves drop and she throws another straight right and left cross combination to her face. SHAKIRA GOES DOWN! Norah moves to a neutral corner and once she is there the count begins. The blonde is counted out as she was beginning to stir at the end of the count.

Norah comes out of the corner, walking and basking in the cheers for her victory. She smiles more as she comes to middle of the ring and has her right arm raised.
Shakira is helped to her corner and then removed to her locker room. She looks somewhat aware as she is carried to her room.

Jones is photographed by the various cameras before she leaves the ring. In her post bout interview, she speaks of wanting more bouts. She thanks the fans for coming and supporting her in the ring. Then she suggests that she would be glad to face other singers in the ring in addition to actresses, models, and others.
