6. Gigi Hadid vs Adriana Lima

“Not bad for a Cougar, eh?” Adriana is all smiles at the pre-fight press junket, downplaying her ascent to a wholly different division in the FCBA. “As I’ve proven time and time again, I can KO girls in two rounds or less. Just ask dear Behati what happened in the last round of the tournament. Tonight, I’ll guarantee to do the same with poor Gigi.”

“Tough words for a tramp who just turned forty!” Gigi bites back immediately, taking a dig at their wide age difference. “In my opinion, old-timers like Lima should hang up their gloves and head to a retirement home. There’s enough girls in the division without a grandma like her taking up space.”

Weigh-ins are heated and tense, but both ladies remain calm as they stare each other down from across the podium: Gigi in a green-blue patterned bikini, blonde hair long and flowy over both shoulders, whilst Adriana’s looking sensual as usual in a onyx bra and briefs set. Both ladies are of the same height, though Lima has traditionally packed a little more muscle in her bouts.

Hours later, the ladies make their Victoria’s Secret entrance in their usual ways: lots of pomp and loud music blasting from the speakers. Gigi wears a flourishing peacock contraption at her back, flourishing both hands into the air with a wide smile on her face, as she struts down the catwalk. Lima has gone for a confident stride of her own, placing her hands on her hips and bouncing down the runway with a golden crown of multi-coloured feathers adorned over her head.

Referee calls this next match to order and gets the nod from both corners to start. HERE WE GO with ten rounds of Lightweight action! This is another match in the Victoria’s Secret War in Heaven II Quarter-quarter finals!

ROUND 1:
Already, Adriana’s moving like she’s born yesterday, not giving the younger Hadid the time of the day as the veteran fighter sails in and ROCKS a big cross into the blonde’s arms! Gigi had expected this explosive treatment from the very beginning, but still not as much as this! Hadid lets out a grunt as her head and torso gets turned to the side by another sudden feint to the left followed by a hook sailing in right, as Adriana continues to make short work of her overwhelmed foe. Hadid had plans to survive this opening round first, fight back later,, but Adriana’s NOT letting up, keeps storming into her space and batting more fists straight into her body, when another tight overhand is sent across her face, and ALL OF A SUDDEN, HADID LOOKS SHAKY!! Good lord! Gigi’s stumbling to the side, looking absolutely dazzled by the bright lights, allowing Lima to STORM in and LIFT her head high into the air with a well-placed uppercut to the jawline! THAT’S IT!?! GIGI FLOUNDERS BACK BEFORE CRASHING DOWN TO THE FLOORBOARDS! DOWN HADID GOES in way-too-early upset action! Hadid looks shell-shocked as she lies flat on her back, staring up at the lights and making NO move to recover! The referee has an easy job tonight, hovering over her for a single second before WAVING his arms for the bell! It’s OVER!!

Official Decision: Adriana Lima defeats Gigi Hadid via KO1!

AFTER:
What a knockout! And we’re not just talking about this KO1 victory! Adriana looks hella sure of herself, pumping her arms into the air with a self-assured smile on her face! She’s definitely put her money where her mouth is, getting better and better with each round of the competition, like a bottle of aged wine!

Meanwhile, an early promising start from Hadid in the first round of this tournament now sees her crash and burn just as quickly at the feet of Lima’s superiority - Gigi tried and tried to raise herself above the clouds, but her career always laid bare at the base of her betters. She spends the final seconds surrounded by her fight team and concerned looks all around, before sitting back up and looking close to tears at her abysmal performance.

On the other hand, the future looks hella bright for Miss Lima, Cougar division or not as her destiny. For now, she heads into the proper quarterfinals of this tourney, with a recently victorious Kelly Gale on her mind. Yet, all of us have to wonder which girl is more worried about whom, especially with Lima’s spectacular conclusion tonight!
