Ann-Kathrin Brommel vs Izabel Goulart

BEFORE: German model Ann-Kathrin Brommel returns from her trip overseas to face the Brazilian heroine Izabel Goulart in a sneaky WAG battle for the ages. One must assume Izabel learned some German having dated Kevin Trapp for several years and Ann-Kathrin is well aware of her martial arts background as well: "My last two fights were tough, I still can't believe how Holly Peers beat Miranda Kerr while I could not! Grr... let's don't talk about Eden Cohen for the next two hours, shall we? (...) Izzy is a genuine elite contender. Sure, she's a little long in the tooth but she can swing it! This will be a valuable scalp on my resume!" (winks).

The big surprise in Izabel's corner is Alessandra Ambrosio working as her cutwoman/advisor and the Eagles' reaction indicates they didn't expect to see the former champion in the ring tonight!

Ann-Kathrin Brommel wears a red bikini set & golden gloves. Long light brown hair tied in a sleek ponytail. Izabel Goulart wears a yellow bikini set & blue gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a custom ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.

Round 1:
It seems like Izabel didn't get the memo as she barges into the German's face and overruns her with the initial jabbing effort before thumping a hard series into her chest as well. Huh! Ann-Kathrin didn't expect that series and she barely avoids slumping on soft knees but the Brazilian model lays it into her body with a slugging delivery moments later and dominates the action thereafter. Brommel has to rely on her mobility to stay away from trouble but that's always a huge challenge for any model so Izzy duly clobbers her onto the ropes and glues her assault to the younger brunette's midsection ripping hard shots around the elbows and leaving Ann-Kathrin in a scowling disarray come the bell. Too early to make a significant damage but Goulart really showed the German foe who's the boss and...

Round 2:
...she picks it up in the second when she gashes the slow-moving opponent from both flanks again. Brommel leaks too many of these crisp body shots and gets trapped in the phone booth as Izzy bumps her off in jug-to-jug contact before landing another quick series on the breasts. Ann-Kathrin slowly works her way back into this contest but those single shots tagging Goulart's face don't make any difference so the German model ends up stacked on the ropes with Izzy drilling her midriff back & forth come the final minute. Cue in a clinching stalemate from the younger brunette but Izabel jumps into an early lead on the cards and gives the Eagles corner a lenghty bytch stare during the interval.

Round 3:
Ann-Kathrin gets into some dirty boxing and manages to land several crisp uppercuts on the fellow brunette's rack before thumping her with a quick overhand swing. Izabel was slow to react there and she's unable to follow through over the top while Brommel shuts down the downstairs lane for her own sake. Izzy bounces off the forearms in futile fashion and eats more scything punches instead which sends her into a hasty retreat come the two-minute mark. This allows Ann-K to pounce on the slugging drill but the execution just isn't there and Goulart spins away from the German's range without major damage.

Round 4:
More of the same in the fourth, Ann-Kathrin profits from a speedy approach up the middle and bangs away into the Brazilian's chest to grind her into a halt in the center of the ring. Izabel's counter-punching skills are somewhat below par and leave the door open for a German comeback. Ann-Kathrin huffs & puffs herself into a commanding position when she carves Izzy up her ribcage and bumps her onto the ropes where a left cross lands on the older brunette's mouth and makes her gurgle in visible discomfort. Izabel tries to storm back but meets a crunching left hook on the eye and nurses a visible swelling aroound that area come the bell. Huh! The fans enjoy this model scrap alright and there are some very loud voices in Goulart's corner as former champion Alessandra Ambrosio tries to offer some advice.

Round 5:
Izabel resumes the head-hunting pounce and works around Ann-Kathrin's temples on speed dial only to fall short of the mark as the German model refuses to back off and has the audacity to plug an uppercut drive into the Brazilian's rack at the end of it. Huh! Somehow Izzy has run into a physical wall and she can't hurt the younger brunette anymore and gets dragged into a lenghty phone booth action with Brommel riding an uppercut wave to punish her breasts instead. The sustained attack does the job and drops Goulart onto the ropes thereafter... and she's visibly drained of energy seeking an easy clinching escape but Ann-K shakes her off and booms a left/right cross double right at the bell. Ouch! Izabel bends to the side with a whimper and eats another hard shot on the solar plexus that makes her spill some Portuguese adjectives. Ref pulls Brommel away at the bell but maybe the writing is on the wall here?

Round 6:
Alessandra Ambrosio urges her compatriot to slug it back at the German pest but easier said than done and Ann-Kathrin pummels hard leather into Izzy's face to add to the swelling around the right eye. Goulart's overhand response slices thin air and leaves her exposed for a chin-checking test as Brommel lights it up and bangs away another brutal series to slump the older model into more trouble. Izabel tries to clinch her opponent but gets bumped onto the ropes where Ann-Kathrin drills the solar plexus again and this time she goes all-in to punch right through the targeted area. Uh-oh! IZZY GOES DOWN clutching her breasts and leans her head against the canvas half-way through the count to indicate this one is simply too much for her. She sits down on her heels moments later and runs out of time to make a proper recovery! KO6 Ann-Kathrin Brommel!!!

AFTER: Not a great day for the Brazilian entourage as Alessandra Ambrosio shakes her head in frustration while she has to acknowledge loud celebrations in the German corner instead. Ann-Kathrin might be out of the title picture for the time being but she remains a genuine Top 10 floater willing to fight anyone who questions her status! With Toni Garrn unable to shake her mini-slump off the Eagles desperately needed Ann-Kathrin to return to winning ways and she managed to take that valuable scalp after all despite a slow start to this contest. Meanwhile Izzy vows to give it another try soon and the upcoming beach boxing season provides way too many opportunities to bounce back in the otherwise model-stacked lightweight division.
