BEFORE:
A classic battle of the blondes in this next match-up if not for the fact Dollhouse veteran Katheryn Winnick usually goes to war against Bantamweights. Tonight, she dips her toes into Lightweight waters as she faces off against Hollywood actress and recent Johnny Depp slayer, Amber Heard.

Ladies are more or less cordial at the press table earlier, answering questions to the point but Winnick shifting uncomfortably when the questions from reporters begin to shift personal:

"I usually do my best to compliment my opponent but....I'm not a fan of Amber. Let's just say I'm on Johnny's side, if you know what I mean,” Kat chuckles to diffuse the insult, somewhat. “Her record is not amazing, but she DID beat Megan Fox this year… which is what put her on my radar. I know she's tough, she's big...and...pretty violent…”

Kat’s comment earns another bout of chuckles from the rest of the room. At the other end of the table, however, Amber Heard can be seen rolling her eyes. “Is she good enough to beat me though? I doubt it," Kat concludes.

“Always glad to hear other parties’ views on a highly personal matter,” Amber says sarcastically moments later. “Who the f*ck cares what Kat thinks about my personal life? The reality of the matter is she’s getting KO’ed tonight. Just like Megan Fox. Just like all the other bimbos who think they know me.”

It’s gonna be an interesting clash of styles, with Amber’s height advantage proving to be the deciding factor in some of her prior matches. Tonight, she holds a 3-inch advantage over the shorter but bulkier Winnick, as both blondes stride in from opposite ends of the stage and then pose for the cameras with their fists raised high to each other’s chins.

Hours later, Katheryn is taking her time walking down the ramp, occasionally raising a white glove to the audience as she sets her eyes on climbing the league ladder. The Doll is wearing her blonde hair high in a ponytail and is clad in her usual white and black ring-gear of sports bra and long fighting tights with matching boxing gloves. Up next, Heard bounces onto the stage to the sound of loud heavy rock and neon green lights. The blonde actress struts to the ring looking confident and focused in a black sports bra and blue boxing trunks with a matching pair of blue and black boxing gloves on her hands. Her long blonde hair is tied in a bun and she’s followed closely behind by the Fighting Academy team.

Referee gets the nod from both fighters, and with a wave of his hand, HERE WE GO with ten rounds of Lightweight action!

ROUND 1:
Katheryn’s treating Amber as a dangerous threat, putting her arms up and moving in cautiously at first. The Doll’s no doubt wary of her opponent’s height advantage, with Heard having made short work of shorter girls in the past like Megan Fox and Luisana Lopilato. The Doll sends jab combos towards her head in a methodical but steady fashion, slamming a crisp one-two into the arms before dodging back out of the way of a return swing from Heard. There’s no doubt that Amber thinks little of her fellow blonde, cuffing her on the cheek once or twice and already thinking that she can have her way fully with the shorter Winnick. But Kat’s also moving fast, constantly, and often, keeping herself away from Heard throughout the round to nullify that reach advantage till the bell rings.

ROUND 2:
Heard, however, sees this retreat as weakness, and responds with even more aggression. She wades in with renewed energy, rocking Kat to the arms with an early right cross before another one-two combo the guard grazes the nostrils to send Kat further reeling on the retreat. Winnick’s still playing it safe, moving back towards the other side of the ring but conscious about not letting her back hit the ropes or get pinned down in the corner. Heard’s looking to dominate some more, keeping pace every step of the way whilst harassing Winnick to the head, once or twice swerving to the side to avoid one of Winnick’s counter-hooks before punting the Doll’s head back with another snap jab right to the face. Those three inches are doing wonders for the actress’ confidence, and she regains the narrative throughout these three minutes to end it wide.

ROUND 3:
Amber continues to employ speed and aggression, thinking Winnick has absolutely nothing on her. The Johnny-slayer comes in hard and fast, bashing more combos into the arms and thinking Winnick might as well just lay down for her and die at this point. First minute and Winnick’s still having trouble keeping herself away or returning her punches, but after another combo smacks into her arms mid-way, she responds with a well-placed bash to the side of the head, having timed that return hook nicely. Heard almost sees stars as her head gets turned to one side, but then a second swing misses overhead, and the Doll only manages to squeeze in a one-two combo to the tummy before Heard gets away. Third round and Amber’s got a taster of the Doll’s power, deciding to stay away whilst jabbing at her head from afar, and the round ends with Amber in a slight lead due to her earlier aggression, but not by much.

ROUND 4:
Amber continues to shine in there, still keeping Kat away with snappy jabs shot in whenever her opponent comes within punching distance. Winnick is certainly testing the waters a little more often, especially after one of her hooks landed cleanly in the previous round, meaning she DOES have what it takes to put Heard down into the canvas. Kat’s shooting in with plenty of combos but Heard’s just keeping pace with her backwards, all the while sending a jab or two into the Doll’s face to disrupt and discourage her further. Third minute of this constant one-sided punishment and Winnick’s growling with frustration when one side of her face is glowing pink but that resolve on her face means she’s still determined to win this. The Doll’s head is bobbing and weaving, staying loose, then suddenly lunging at Amber from too far of a distance - a wild flurry of punches erupts in the center as Heard fights her off, lands a cuffing blow across the chin in the ensuing melee, which STAGGERS the big girl! OUCH! Kat looks shaken as she goes stumbling to the side! THIS COULD BE IT?! Heard leaps in, continuing to harass her to the head, beating her backwards. Kat’s in trouble, wincing as blow after blow lands hard, knocking her head about, till a wild overhand LANDS square between the eyes, and DOWN SHE GOES!! IT’S A KNOCKDOWN in the fourth round and third minute!! Heard has a chance here to score a real upset!! But no! Kat had been laid out flat on her back for a brief second there but already rising back up and shaking her head further. She’s back on her back by the count of 8, folks! Not to worry!!

ROUND 5:
Heard caught smirking by the cameras throughout last round’s proceedings, now still looking cocky as she comes out of her corner, looking for more brawl. The Hollywood actress is the one pawing and prodding at what remains of Kat’s defences, dinging shots in left and right, then following up with a brutal step-in cross that’s designed to take Katheryn’s head off. IF it landed, of course. Kat keeps her guard firm and steadfast, groaning at first after Amber takes more potshots at her body and forearms, bashing her further backwards. But the third minute sees the tide turning, with Heard running on empty and Katheryn bouncing another counter-hook off her chin by sheer stubborn luck or well-placed fortunes. You take a guess yourself! It has the desired effect, however, when it’s Heard’s turn to shake the grogginess from her head, suddenly not too enthusiastic about running the shorter woman down. Rest of the round and Winnick is the one left to mop up, taking precise one-two combos that ding into Heard’s body and mouth repeatedly, bagging her way more points all the way to the bell. What a turn of fortunes that was, with Kat looking like she might just bounce back from last round’s debacle!

ROUND 6:
And Amber continues to look shaken and stirred, her long blonde hair dishevelled and flashing in multiple directions when the bell rings for the sixth! The tall Hollywood actress barely has time to react before Winnick’s already set upon her like a lawsuit on her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, a stiff right hand snapping her head back before one of her patented hooks is narrowly blocked by a hastily raised arm! Heard with little to no response, however, groggily thrown into the ropes and having to quickly reform her defences just before Winnick SLAMS another cross into the center of her stomach, CHOPPING her in half with her mouth hanging open! AND HEARD GOES SPINNING downwards right after Kat landed that big right hand to the jawline, and that’s one hell of a return KNOCKDOWN if we’ve ever seen one!! Could this be it INSTEAD?? Heard looks shell shocked and flatlined by the ropes, making zero attempt to get back up! Referee hits the count of 10 and WAVES the rest of this fight off!

Official Decision: Katheryn Winnick defeats Amber Heard via KO6!

AFTER:
Some people would say this hasn’t exactly been Kat Winnick’s year, but here, tonight, she proves herself once again capable of punching above her weight, and quite literally, above her height, in flooring the dangerous Amber Heard in just under twenty minutes.

Kat with a satisfied smirk on her face as she returns to her corner with one of her fists raised high. She celebrates modestly with her fight team: high fives and hugs all around and well-deserved pats on the back, all the while leaving Amber to wallow in her own defeat at the other corner of the ring.

Later, on her way out, Winnick pauses to speak to reporters outside the ring.

“Hope you enjoyed that one Johnny!” the victorious Doll laughs. “Yeah… I took a risk fighting her but I’m all about taking risks in this business. I had trouble with her reach that I had to solve….she got me with a big punch in the 4th. That was pretty scary but I’m glad I managed to snap out of that one….Amber’s tough, not gonna take that away from her. But I’m tougher. When it was my turn to put her down she couldn’t recover. Better luck next time, hon.” Katheryn chuckles and turns around to wave to her fans on all sides one last time before finally exiting the arena, leaving an upset looking Amber Heard in the ring - the younger blonde looking hurt and still recovering as she’s being worked on by her team in her corner, surely already planning her revenge .
