Avril Lavigne (37, 5’1 ½, 110 lbs, 55:25 FCBA, The Dollhouse) Vs. Cree Cicchino (19, 5’3, 112 lbs, 18:3 FCBA, Italians Boxing Better)
Results: Lookout!; Story: Caspian & The Dollhouse
BEFORE: It was September of 2021 when these two first met in the ring, with the experienced blonde taking on the then undefeated young rookie in what should have been another casual win for the Doll. But Lavigne ended up getting her butt handed to her by the tenacious teen, who dominated the fight with 2 knockdowns and a brutal TKO to her name while the punk-princess was searching for answers the entire fight - answers she never found, scoring zero knockdowns on the impressive rookie. The result was Cree’s biggest win to date in her budding career, and propelled her to the scary 18-3 record she holds now, with a title bout coming up for the young IBB fighter at the end of the month. Today, however, Avril is looking to redeem herself in the eyes of the fans for the humiliation she suffered during that fight AND post-fight, when the brunette knocked the poor Doll out for good after the bell has rang and proceeded to toy with her victim, uploading it all to her social media which earned the youngster tens of thousands of new fans and followers.
"I can't believe Avril was dumb enough to want to fight me again,” Cree says first, having entered the press hall with an upturned chin and cocky smile. “Everybody knows she's an airhead but that is some new level of stupid. I got her challenge 2 months ago… she probably thought she's gonna fight me as the champion after beating Vanessa and have her great revenge story...Can you imagine?! You're never gonna be a champion Av, that's pretty much a given at this point. Both Ramirez and Hudgens beat the stuffing out of her and tonight I'm gonna make her realize she needs to stick to fighting jobbers at this point in her career. Because she IS one."
Avril is still nursing those wounds after a second failed grab at the Flyweight title, but already, she looks set to get back into the ring when she viciously grabs the microphone at the press table.
"Cree is a huge b*tch with a huge mouth who caught me off guard because I didn't take her seriously. It was whatever. But this stupid b*tch is gonna pay hard for what she did to me after… I've been wanting this rematch for months. She's been trash talking me for months. She needs her trap shut. I don't care about losing the title anymore, I just want to f*ck this cocky b*tch up and shut her up for good."
A long line of rivals and people Avril has managed to piss off over the years, but Cree Cicchino is perhaps one such loss the Dollhouse star has never lived down. The two fought back in September of last year, where Cicchino pulled off a surprising upset in the seventh round via TKO. Since then, Cree has gone on a three-fight winning streak in just two months of this year alone, having beaten both Chloe Grace Moretz and Madison Beer in back-to-back successes. Can she repeat her feat tonight and prove she’s once and for all better than the Dollhouse darling?
Ladies make their entrances at the start of this contest, Avril rocking her standard black and pink sports bra and short tights, brandishing her similarly colored gloves high into the air before marching down the ramp to the sound of her own music, her blonde hair in her usual high up ponytail. Next up, Cree steps onto the stage next in a spectacle of silver fireworks. The IBB title contender is wearing a silver sports bra and black tights, waving matching silver gloves to the crowd, her coal black hair in a tight ponytail as she makes her way to the ring, looking confident and some may say even cocky.
Referee gets this rematch started in record fashion, with both fighters pacing excitedly in opposite corners of the ring. Will Avril even the score tonight and redeem her honour for another title shot down the line, or will it be Cree’s chance to prove the Doll is definitely no match for her? Let’s find out! There’s the wave of the hand and HERE WE GO with ten rounds of Flyweight action!
ROUND 1: Avril’s headspace is sure to be in a tailspin tonight after losing twice in a row now and failing to secure the Flyweight belt for herself, despite having fought in the FCBA for over a decade and counting. She can’t lose this fight, and she knows it. Slow, cautious approach to start and it seems to be the way to deal with Cree’s own sluggishness - the younger woman knows she has the power and stamina to put Lavigne away, and she’s also biding her time to walk her down with stray jabs. This fortunately gives Avril lots of space and time to plant return combos to her face, rocking and socking the Italian actress with faster hands sailing in without warning. Cree’s aggression in their last fight was the one thing that was going for her, and that explosive element appears to be missing here. Towards the end of the round, Cree’s tossing some bigger hooks towards Avril’s head but none of them really hit or sting, and Avril manages to hold onto her sauce wide by the sound of the bell.
ROUND 2: Cicchino seems to have learned from her mistakes in the first round. Sound of the bell and she CHARGES, heading straight for Avril with her head dipped low and arms pulled back to attack. Lavigne having expected this, tries to make herself look scarce with her arms tight and head hidden behind when the first crazy bombs slam into her guard to throw her backwards. Lavigne still doesn’t have an answer for Cree’s power, and all she can do is scamper and scram, keeping her guard locked up tight before unleashing fast flurries to the head to try and deter Cicchino. Cree takes advantage of this, timing another hook to slam into Avril’s head from the side, momentarily stunning her to the spot. Cicchino like a little dynamo, pounding away downstairs, smacking leather to the tummy whenever she can, and the round is reminiscent of how their first fight went: Avril getting pushed back and shoved about the place like a little ragdoll caught in the jaws of a bulldog, till the referee had to pull Cree off her at the end of seven rounds. At least this time, Avril’s moving faster, grunting in pain as each hook catches her on the forearm or ribs, but at least she’s still standing by the end of it.
ROUND 3: Cree continues to control the ring, easily taking ground with Avril running backwards and trying to avoid her bigger punches sailing in. Lavigne is looking a lot more focused this time, not brazenly charging in to try and brawl with her younger counterpart, but that still won’t win her much praise (or points) if all she’s doing is evading attacks. Avril sends some jabs off the top of Cree’s head in the second minute, once or twice scoring and giving herself a glimmer of hope for the long run ahead. Cree lets out a grunt each time this happens, her guard barely existent so far but then again, it ain’t needed if you’re the one throwing those bombs at your enemy. Lavigne gets caught by a return straight hand in the crossfire, slammed into the chin, which makes her growl and retreat once more. Cree’s not letting her go, however, immediately rushing in to try and finish her off!! Avril takes more punishment to her arms and body as Cicchino wails away at both with left and right hooks churning inwards, till a squared hook to the ear sends Avril REELING off to the side! AND DOWN THE DOLL GOES, having lost her balance and sent sprawling down to all fours! It’s an early KNOCKDOWN for Cree Cicchino! Could this be an even MORE dominant win for the IBB girl!?
Avril’s not KO’ed nor about to give up though, slowly but surely pushing herself off the ground, whilst Cree watches with satisfaction from the neutral corner across the ring. Avril’s hopes just got a big dose of reality as she struggles to make a dent in the youngster’s armour. She recovers by the count of 8, and nods to the referee to continue! This fight is just getting started!
ROUND 4: To Avril’s credit, she hasn’t lost any of the built-up momentum accrued from the earlier rounds. Cree tries to rush her down to secure the win, but Lavigne is still dodging and weaving to avoid those big swings at her head, staying focused on her foe’s movements. Cree’s clearly the one running out of steam by the second minute, breathing hard in one corner of the ring, and there’s the signal for Avril to counterattack! The Doll comes in slowly at first, cautiously attacking Cree’s weak points with a jab to the forehead here, another one-two combination to her body there. Slowly, the Doll takes the offence back to her foe, finally driving Cicchino several paces to the ropes by the time the bell rings. She’s still a long way from securing the win, but at least that glimmer at the end of the tunnel is burning brighter.
ROUND 5: Wild brawl erupts in the center of the ring close to the middle minute, with both women having spent the first circling from afar and catching their breaths. It’s only when Cicchino starts closing in again is she met by a barrage of jabs from Avril’s corner, the Doll not about to let her foe wade in to brawl, willing to fire all her ammunition towards Cree’s head in a bid to stay her advance. Cicchino has other plans, however, confidently wading in to take big swipes at the Doll’s head and body, regardless of how many jab attacks she’s absorbing to her own. Avril’s speed has increased dramatically since joining the Dollhouse, and her time on the speedbags has definitely paid off: she knocks Cree’s head back several times with stiff one-two combos, denying Cicchino a second knockdown, but comes out of the melee not totally unscathed either. Cicchino manages to sink some leather of her own into the Doll’s sides and ribs, but those headhunting hooks mostly stun Lavigne to the arms. For now, both girls remain standing, though it’s hard to tell who’s the one leading as we cross over into the second half of this rematch!
ROUND 6: Cree moves in aggressively again, no more playing around like the first few rounds. The Italian girl keeps her head low and arms up, but she’s clearly going after the Doll’s body area to hopefully knock the living wind out of Avril’s sails, forcing her into another TKO situation by the ropes. Avril doing her best to avoid the sudden flurries directed at her head and body, with Cree mixing up her attacks with jabs up high before swinging low and under the Doll’s guard. One or two nasty hooks stun Avril on the stomach, but each time, Avril establishes her own distance and fires back with cheek-baiting jabs that also punish her younger foe. Towards the end of the round, it’s about to look like another draw when Avril inserts a hook at the end of that head-hunting combo - POW! Cicchino’s head suddenly pushed to one side, with a look of absolute shock on her face. The Italians starlet immediately starts swinging back, a haphazard shower of hands, but Avril’s weaving her head and torso backwards, flies in just in time to land ANOTHER hook across Cree’s chin, which sends Cicchino flying into the ropes with an UGHHH!! This might be it!! Lavigne’s BARRELING inwards, pounding leather off that tanned tummy before rocking a final uppercut into the base of Cree’s chin!! AND DOWN CICCHINO GOES, crumbling to her butt and then her back on the mat, looking shellshocked in a huge return KNOCKDOWN for the Dollhouse star!!
These two really do NOT like each other! Avril catches her breath in the aftermath, heading back to the neutral corner with barely any other expression on her face other than scorn. She wants this fight to be over, but is also clearly prepared to go another four rounds if she has to. Cree not out cold quite yet, blinking rapidly up at the stadium lights but then starting to push her way back up. The young girl’s shivering all over, however, as she catches hold of the middle ropes to try and force the rest of her body to comply. It is clear the brunette is NOT used to being in this position, with her head spinning all around her. She’s repeatedly losing her grip on the taut strings, looking confused and groggy as she tries to pull herself back up, those wobbly legs of hers can’t seem to justify supporting the rest of her body weight indefinitely… The referee hits the count of 10 right next to her and he finally WAVES this fight off! Cree has no choice but to SINK back down to her knees in dismay, her head hanging on the second rope! It’s OVER!! AVRIL WINS!
Official Decision: Avril Lavigne defeats Cree Cicchino via KO6!
AFTER: Wow! What a turn of events! In complete contrast to their previous fight, the roles have been reversed tonight - this time Cicchino is the one coming into the fight hot and cocky and finding herself out for the count, only two weeks before her shot at the title!
The arena goes absolutely apeshit here as the many Avril fans in attendance jump to their feet cheering loudly for her after this big revenge win over the next title contender and the fastest rising star in the Flyweight division in recent years! They were all watching with baited breath here tonight the entire time after seeing their idol losing her previous fights badly, not the mention – the results of the previous encounter between these two - but are now experiencing pure elation as the punk-princess avenges her humiliating loss to the brunette a year ago.
AND SHE’S NOT DONE! The bell rings and Avril immediately POUNCES on the dazed teenager and begins raining huge wild punches to Cree’s face from above! The poor IBB fighter tries to defend herself as best she can from the surprise attack but is way too groggy and weak to stop Lavigne’s wild barrage – ends up eating several BIG punches to the face in the process! The referee pouncing on Avril in return, trying to get the blonde away from her foe but gets PUSHED away by the raging Punk-Princess who immediately goes back to pummeling the brunette some more – several punches hit clean on the head but then a BIG punch hits the teenager’s jaw and CREE GOES OUT! Cree Cicchino collapses to her side, head flops to the mat, out like a light! She’s out! Get Avril the f*ck away from her or this will get worse!
The referee finally managing to grab the Doll from behind and pull her away from her now knocked out opponent, with Avril still not looking satisfied in the least, sneering “GET WRECKED, b*tch!” as she’s pulled away. Pushed to her corner by the ref, the vindictive blonde high fives her team including a big hug with Kristanna Loken as the ref leaves to check on the unconscious Cicchino lying near the ropes and signals for the medical team to get in.
But Av’s not done yet!? The crowd erupts as the blonde suddenly dashes out of her corner again right behind the referee’s back, this time dropping to her knees besides Cree’s unconscious body and PUSHING the teen’s limp body, rolling her underneath the bottom rope and all the way OUT OF THE RING! “Get the f*ck outta my ring, b*tch!” Lavigne exclaims as Cicchino FLOPS to ringside and lands in a heap on the ground with a THUD. Avril is finally seen grinning in satisfaction, laughing while letting herself be pulled away too late by the now fuming referee, who is visibly scolding the amused Punk-Princess for her behavior here tonight before sending her to her corner for the last time.
The blonde couldn’t care less it seems as she turns to the fans, raising both arms up high, laughing and exclaiming “Hell Yeaaahh! b*tch is SO done!!! This is MY ring! Am I right?!”. The fans cheer her on with “AV-RIL!, AV-RIL!” chants all the while Cree’s team rushes to attend to their fallen fighter outside the ring.
Lavigne takes a long victory lap in her now empty ring with her arms raised, celebrating a huge win against one of the hottest fighters in the division after two disappointing recent losses, and things are certainly looking up for the veteran Doll, who leaves the ring shortly after, high fiving her fans on her way out.
By the time Cicchino is brought to and can make it back to her feet with the help of her team, Lavigne is long gone, and the young brunette seems besides herself with a mix of shock, humiliation and frustration, leaving the arena in gloomy silence as her fans do their best to cheer her up with a standing ovation of their own – Cree suffers a major setback here tonight weeks before her big title fight with champion Vanessa Hudgens, and if the young fighter ends up winning the title at the end of the month, perhaps a title rubber match will be in order as the animosity between these two hellcats has surely peaked after tonight’s fight.
