Laura: 47 YO, 5’6 ½ (1.69), 0-25-0, since 2012 Latin Union

Before: “Yes, I have to admit I’ve become a Cougar and this bout just confirms it,” Rachel McAdams said with wistful smile. “Not that I won’t fight some young pup who dares to take me on, but this is my place now at Foxfire. I am looking forward to this fight.”

‘Age is just a number,” Insists Italian singer Laura Pausini, “I feel more than ready to fight Rachel McAdams. So I am also looking forward to this fight.”

Fight night finds the two veterans entering the ring. Rachel is in a black one piece swimsuit with white gloves and boots (black laces). Her short hair is wetted down. Laura is in a sky blue one piece swimsuit with dark blue gloves and boots (light blue laces), Dark hair pulled back in a short ponytail. The two veteran get quickly through the instructions. Tap their gloves and go to their corners. The bell rings.

R1: Laura and Rachel collide at midring in a fast flurry of body punches as breasts and abs come under ;lashing attack. This goes on for over a minute, but then Laura shifts to Rachel’s chin. Three solid chin checkers and Rachel is dropping back with her mitts up around her face. Laura then goes back to Rachel’s body, but Rachel comes out of her defensive stance to counter to Laura’s body. Meaty hooks striking home now and it is close at the bell, but judges give the nod to Laura Pausini in a narrow decision.

R2: Rachel going for the head right from the start. Laura getting her jaw, chin and side of the head hit solidly. Laura tries to counter to the body, but Rachel remains committed to head attack. Laura starting to wilt under these repeated blows and drops back to get some relief. She’s also got her head well protected at this point and so Rachel is now whacking at Laura’s midsection. Laura tipped forward at the waist and being backed up, though Rachel can’t steer her into the ropes. Round ends in a wide win for Rachel McAdams.

R3: Laura Pausini on the attack as thie new round opens. She catches Rachel by surprise with solid right/left combinations to the jaw that stagger the Foxfire boxer. Then Laura goes to the body to work over Rachel’s ribcage and stomach. Rachel fights back with counters to Rachel’s body and they have a vigorous exchange of torso pounding action that rages to the bell. Again this looks close, but again Laura Pausini gets the nod from the judges.

R4: Laura resuming her body offensive in the new round, but again she is met by countering body punches from Rachel. They whack away at each other steadily through the first minute, but Rachel’s veteran eye spots an opening, She suddenly brings a hard right to the point of Laura’s chin. Laura staggers back and Rachel quickly pours in more shots to Laura’s chin and jaw. Laura can’t adjust quickly enough and her head is being knocked around alarming. Then Laura’s legs collapse AND DOWN GOES LAURA! Laura lies crumpled on her face, arms at her sides as Rachel trots to the neutral corner. She looks back hopefully as referee counts and Laura struggles to get back on her feet.

“NINE!...TEN!..,.YOU ARE OUT!:” cries the official as Laura makes it erect—but it’s too late. Laura bursts into tears of frustration as Rachel waves to her fans in the crowd.

THE WINNER RACHEL MCADAMS DEFEATS LAURA PAUSINI KO4!

After: “It’s not fair, I made it up, I just wasn’t face enough for that referee,” Laura complains later. “I know I could beaten McAdams if I’d had more time.”

Rachel McAdams shrugs off the controversy: “She lost and I know that’s hard, but the simple fact is I won. I am very happy about that too. Maybe this Cougar business isn’t so bad. We’ll see.”

Back and forth fight between two veterans until Rachel McAdams handed Laura Pausini another FCBA loss. Sour grapes on the art of Laura should not take away from Rachel McAdams' good win. If she wants to continue fighting Cougars, Rachel looks to have made a good start.
